Do you like music? How broad is your taste in music? If you’re into American pop and would like to try something new, Korean pop “KPOP” is something you should try. Kpop originated in 1992 in South Korea, completely changing the music game there. American pop we all know it is just one genre and mainly one sound. But with Kpop it is a range of genres, all of which i have listened to. Most kpop artist are in boy groups or girl groups, and each group has their own sound, from pop-rock. There is one boy group i personally think deserves the title as ‘princes of kpop’ as kpop fans would say. EXO is the best boy group and deserves the title as the princes of kpop due to their singing skills, dancing skills, acting skills , and their broad knowledge. …show more content…
EXO K which promotes in Korea and then there’s EXO M which promotes in China. Together they are just EXO they have not just one but six strong vocalist. The two lead vocalist are Suho and Xiumin, and then the main vocalist are D.O, Baekhyun, Chen, and Lay. When i first heard EXO’s sound was when my little sister rushed into the living room where me and my sisters were, and played a song called “Growl” i was amazed with the harmonization, though at the time i did not understand what they were saying it didn’t matter. When someone sings that good it doesn’t matter what language it’s in you have to give props to their vocal ability. Watching live concert videos i was already amazed and satisfied with their singing . Early this year on February 10th my sisters and i went to Dallas to see them live in concert, and just as i thought they sounded even better live. Hitting every note, just as they did in the studio. I’ve seen plenty of movies from great films like There will be blood to not so great films like Sharknado. I’ve watched many Korean tv as well such as dramas and movies. Some of which EXO members have played a role in. D.O of exo has played a wide variety of roles, from a figment of a schizophrenic mans imagination to a serial killer. I think he did amazing because not all musicians can act, he has not only an amazing voice but is such a great actor. Chanyeol of EXO starred in a movie that did very well in China. I watched it and to be honest i was worried he wouldn’t do that well but surprisingly his acting was very good. Kai, D.O, Lay, and Xiumin all did tv shows that did very well in China and
Love & Hip Hop is an American Reality Show series on VH1. The series debuted on March 14, 2011. Mona Scott-Young is the CEO of multi-media entertainment company Monami Entertainment which is home of the popular show. In addition to “Love & Hop Hop,” the film and television division of Monami Entertainment has produced the spin-off “Chrissy & Mr. Jones” and “The Gossip Game,” both on VH1. All of these shows have a common theme. They are all drama filled reality shows based on the chronicles of several men and women with unpredictable love lives, who are involved in Hip Hop. The main female characters of the show this previous season are Yandy Smith, Erica Mena, Tara and Tahiry. All four of these women lead separate story lines that revolve around the four leading men; Mendecese, Rich Dollas, Peter Gunz, and Joe Budden.
Major social and economical changes occurred in the United States during the time of 1917-1935. At the beginning of the time period the United States military entered into World War I. Over the next twenty-three years’ important events that took place included the Eighteenth Amendment, starting prohibition, the Nineteenth Amendment, giving women the right to vote, and the United States entering into the Great Depression. In chapter three of American Popular Music the author describes these events in direct correlation to the music history. Major points regarding what influenced the nations culture and identity included the popularization of radio, the Jazz Age, and the successful Paul Whiteman.

"I think the element of hip-hop left when rap music started being created on a slow tempo...It just stayed there for years. Right now, a lot of rap music today is being created at very low tempos. There 's no more of that 'wave your hands in the air like you just don 't care ' - you know, something that makes you want to get out there and breakdance...Rap music has lost that element right now, mainly over in America. There’s not too many great hip-hop records out there, but there are some great rap records.” (“The Difference Between Rap & Hip-Hop,”
...enshoff et al. (2009), it is important to mention that films that are produced by Hollywood are first and foremost strictly business. To Asian viewers, it may be easier to detect these faulty portrayals, but whether Hollywood casts a Korean to play a Japanese role, or a Chinese to play a Korean, it is all the same because Hollywood uses what works to sell its product well.
The chorus may have been a bit weak vocally, but they made up for it with their energy. The kids of the “Corny Collins’ Show” were perfectly cast with their huge ironic grins, and the record shop ensemble was energetic and played well off of Motormouth. Contrastingly, the “Dynamites” were very strong musically, though their dancing could have been more animated.
This study demonstrated that pop music influences happiness mood. As hypothesized participants in the pop music category were influence by the music and seem happier. The analysis revealed that participants in the rock and classical music categories didn’t have an effect in their mood. The results for rock and classical music did not supported the hypothesis, which rock music causes a person to have an aggressive mood, and classical music will lead to a calmer mood. The data support the primacy effect pop music results supported the hypothesis that pop music leads to a happier mood. The results from this data support from previous literature research such as the pop category. The results could also interpret as support for (Hargreaves, 1999). People make their music preferences based on the emotional state they are in (Hargreaves, 1999). The analysis revealed that pop music scored higher than students who had rock or classical. The implications for this study are to examine if music influence mood in a negative or positive aspect). As an outcome happiness mood correlated with pop music . There wasn’t no effect between rock music and aggressive mood. Classical music didn’t have a relationship between classic music and calm mood. The results of this study wouldn’t be able to support (Jordana Mena, 2007). This consists of classical music being composed with different emotions based on the key and time signature it is on. If the classical piece is written in a higher key then they saw different mood responses than the classical pieces written in a low key (Jordan Mena, 2007). This study has provided that music is more than just a piece, of a lyric, beat, or instrument it has been proven that music can help people ...
The life of an adolescent varies from day to day. For every good thing, most likely there is a bad thing. This doesn’t always happen, but this constant changing of moods can greatly affect the stress one feels. Adolescents will look for some form of relief, this often being music. Turning on the radio while doing homework can help people stay relaxed and get through an assignment. Drifting off for thirty minutes while you listen to your favorite band on a pair of headphones can be the cure also. It is not what an individual turns on that matters, as long as it is what they like. Not everyone is going to listen to Top 40 music, but a majority will so we focus on the top five songs. The top five songs of today do not differ that much thematically from when I was fourteen with the most common theme being love.
‘Analysing popular music: theory, method and practise’ (Tagg, 1982) is an article that illustrates brilliantly the issues and nuances of analysing and discussing popular music. It lays out a scientific method for achieving analytical goals, using some of Tagg’s previous work to help explain his methodology and process. In the first part of this essay, I will discuss the analysis of ‘Kojak Theme’ (Goldenberg, 1973) and ABBA’s ‘Fernando’ (ABBA, 1976) that Tagg writes about in his work.
But we should start out by acknowledging its success. In considering some of the reasons for the recent success of South Korean cinema, two further observations can be made. First, if we pay attention to the international export success of South Korean cinema, we can see that it has carved out a new route. This is based on regional markets, at least as much as Europe and the United States. Second, unlike the successes of the Taiwanese and Chinese “new waves” since the 1980s, it is not based on the old European art cinema model.
The group presentation about Japanese pop (J-Pop) or Japanese Rock (J-Rock) music are chosen by all members in our group, Japanese culture is known in the world to my pride. As a Japanese, I have done my best and understanding of J-Pop or J-Rock music to present to my members. Different styles of ideas may be appropriate at different stages in my group’s perspective. Ms. Jessica, who was interested in ‘Japanese culture’ that is an easy path to our relationship. And because there was no leader, we often stayed together at the school library to search for data, note it, exchange ideas, and so on, at times without class time.
A mixture of western and eastern music, Korean Pop, or Korean Pop, has boomed as fans drool over the idols, their dance moves, and their combination of Asian culture with Western hip-hop verses, Euro-pop choruses, rap, and even some dubstep. Korean Pop hit the waves in Asia quickly becoming popular in China, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, Vietnam, and many other countries (John Seabrook, 2012). The Korean Wave has continued to spread throughout the East to countries farther west such as Saudi Arabia, Iran, and others, which are quickly getting drawn into the fan base (Clair Weber, 2014).
To overcome the cultural barrier and attract more oversea supporters, the K-pop groups are welcome to keep its singer’s nationality diversity. For example, the girl group “Twice” debuted last year was formed by five Korean members, three Japanese members, and one Taiwanese member. [ ] Adding different nationality members of a band group is helping the group to enter the particular market since they clearly have a language advantage over other competitors and have some kind of emotional or cultural similarities can be used to appeal to oversea fans. At the same time, producing K-pop music is also a process of global sourcing. Such as Girls’ Generation’s song “Genie” was arranged by Yu Yeong-jin, a Korean musician, but it was composed by Design Group from Europe and choreography by a Japanese- American dancer called Rino Nakasone Razalan.
Americans believe that after ‘N Sync, boy bands were dead and then brought back by One Direction. Although One Direction is a British group, American has accepted them as the return of boy bands. That can be proven wrong by looking over at South Korea. While ‘N Sync lasted seven years a Korean boy band, Shinhwa, has been together for sixteen years and is still ongoing, meaning that One Direction was not the return of boy bands, but have just been added to the list. Kpop has been alive for very long and has found its way into peoples’ hearts. The fame that follows Kpop has introduced people into the Korean culture and has influence other parts of the world. Although KPop is a very important factor in the spread of Korean culture many people do not know what Kpop is, therefore the question would be what is Kpop and who are the biggest Kpop stars?
