Ancient Egypt was a civilization. That is, because Ancient Egypt included all of the indicators to create an advanced civilization.
Ancient Egypt had all of the indicators. One of which they included was a complex government. The Egyptian government was first ruled by the Pharaoh. The Pharaoh was the most supreme leader that wasn’t just for the government, but also the religion. The Pharaoh couldn’t rule Ancient Egypt by himself, so he had other aids with him. He had hierarchy that were leaders and rulers of the leaders and rulers below him. A normal citizen of Ancient Egypt had no say in the government because they weren’t a democracy. Essentially, we consider that the law was based on common sense of right and wrongs, following the codes based on the idea of Ma’ at. Ma ‘at depicted truth, order, balance and justice in the universe. Ma’at relates to Hammurabi and his laws for the babylonians. Houses, temples, and many other places had to be built. Who would build them? The specialized jobs and labor were a large part of Egypt. The Ancient Egyptians built all of their temples, tombs, pyramids, palaces that were made out of stone, and the most firm and durable of all of the building materials. All of these advanced and amazing buildings had to include very advanced and gifted labourers. Another type of specialized skill is knowing/learning how to read and write. Those who do that are called scribes. Scribes took about 12 years of school/training to learn how to become a scribe. Even children had to work. If the children didn’t work, then Ancient Egypt may have not been able to make such a great civilization. The children were anticipated to look after their grandparents/elderly parents. Egypt was one of the first River Valley Civilizations. In Egypt there were big advances in art, math and science and also pottery. We still use the same number system and they even had fractions back in that time. During the Old Kingdom times the pyramids were built. The pyramids were tombs for the pharaohs of Egypt. Their civilization basically ran off of social classes. Each social class had its own boundaries. Social classes were kind of like a pyramid. At the top would be the Pharaoh and the other g-ds.If the Pharaoh came down from power and the g-ds were destroyed then the civilization would fall apart. If the top of the pyramid fell down, then the pyramid would be ruined. Below the Pharaoh and the g-ds were the Vizers. They would be like under the tip of the pyramid so they would get luxury, but just a little less luxury than the Pharaoh. But their house would be grander than the lower classes, but less grand than the Pharaoh’s palace. Under the Pharaoh, g-ds, and Vizers would be the High Priests and Scribes, as I said before religion is a very big part of Egypt and it is a way of communicating to the g-ds. If your job had anything to do with religion, you would have a very high social class. Finally the last of the high classes that are like in the middle of the pyramid are the officials and scribes, whose jobs also have something to do with religion and government, therefore, they have a high social class. After all the high classes comes the lower classes which have very little to no luxury and little tiny houses/ cottages. The first of the lower classes are the craftsmen. For a few thousand years most of what people did was hunting and gathering. Than they started to do farming which was a great way to feed more people. The Egyptians lived by the Nile and the soil was fertile, so it was good for farming. Once they started farming there was more population because they could feed more. With more people the civilization started to become more complex.
