A peak performer is someone who is a go-getter. They set goals, strive to achieve them, and don’t stop until they do. They use all of their strengths and knowledge to aid them in doing so. They are highly motivated, risk takers (Bethel University, 2013).
A peak performer can be anyone, and possess many different qualities to aid them in achieving their goals. They are very self aware, and know their own strengths and weaknesses, and how to manage, and utilize them. They are never done learning, and are continually trying to become better than they were the day before. If they run into a problem, they find a way to overcome that hurdle and push forward. However, I 'm still very responsible, and everything always gets done, in a timely manner.
I was enlightened on some things that could use some improvement, again such as managing time, and money. I never really thought about whether or not I was good at things, because it didn 't matter. I still get where I need to be on time, even if I was in a rush and my hair is wet. My bills still get paid on time, even if we have to slightly struggle, for the next couple of weeks until payday. If I could just make myself, get up a little earlier, and stop spending money on frivolous things, I could arrive places on time, with dry hair, and eat more steaks instead of hamburgers!

The first characteristic needed to excel as an outlier is innate talent. In order to truly excel in anything, one must have the talent to foster success. Gladwell concedes that talent and hard work are factors in success. Human achievements, he argues, demand ability and talent, disciplined by at least 10,000 hours of practice. Having talent alone does not make one successful. Having the fortitude to take advantage of opportunities afforded to you, and the determination to practice for as long as it takes to master your craft is what leads to true success.
For me to be an effective leader, I must first evaluate my strengths. I took the Gallup 2.0 Strength Finder report which showed my strengths in an insight and action planning guide. The results indicated the top five themes for me were input, learner, responsibility, maximizer and arranger. I believe the evaluation offered an accurate assessment of my strengths. The input theme states my mind is like a sponge, soaking up information. As a lifelong learner, the second theme is also, correct. I have a quest for knowledge about things that interest me. I am responsible, in my job and life. As a maximizer, I focus on long term goals and strive toward excellence. As a nurse, working in an environment of change, the arranger strength in my personality allows me to adapt easily and figure out the best way to accomplish tasks (Strengths, 2012).
Many experiences that did not seem academically oriented but became such because my parents steered them that way by tying them learning. I know these helped me at school - I vividly remember sitting in a first grade class wondering why the other students did not know things I already knew, like how the astronauts came back to Earth after having gone to the moon and that snakes are not out in the winter. The two tests that I have done have pretty much accurately described what kind of learner I am. VARK model states that my dominant learning style is Kinesthetic. Kinesthetic learners learn by doing things physically with hands on experience rather than listening to someone else. I tend to move around a lot when remembering or revising for an exam which helps me express a thought or understand a subject through bodily movement. My other style is Linguistic and Spatial Visual learning. It is easier for me to grasp the meaning of things by visually understanding a concept with the help of graphs, pictures, videos, etc or taking notes as I learn. Talent and skill are oftentimes mistaken and confused in perceptions and conversations. They both relate to the ability of a person to work and perform on a specific task, although the difference between the two is from where the ability originates. Many believe that people are born with a certain talent and that only these selected individuals will be successful. This, however, is not necessarily true, as the concept of talent should be open to different individuals' interpretations. No one is already born a scientist, a dancer or teacher, yet as individuals, we can develop certain skills to fit in different categories. While talent is an undoubted advantage for success in the people holding it, it is not fundamental to be considered flourishing in certain settings. Skills require determination and effort, and being at the disposal of all, can be the winning key to favorable outcomes in life.
