Nursing field is very demanding, with long hours and the strain of working with ill and stressed people on a daily basis make it more challenging. Nursing is a noble profession and rewarding career, therefore, anyone who is planning to get into this field should pursue it with full compassion. Being compassionate means being caring, concerned, empathetic, sympathetic, and understanding. A good nurse must be able to put him/herself in the patients’ shoes in order to provide quality care needed.
An effective nurse is caring, understanding, non-judgmental, and has a strong ability to empathize with patients from all works of life. Nurses deal with sick, injured, and their families on a daily basis, and they need to be able to show them that they …show more content…

Also being respectful by valuing other people’s individuality, treat them politely and kindly. Being unprejudiced is important quality of nursing profession since you will work with people from many different backgrounds. Also need to be tolerant, conscientious and organize. A good nurse must be detailed-oriented, and make notes and most importantly, listen to patients. Must be easily adaptable and emotionally stable. I believed that I possessed almost all these personal qualities to get into the nursing field.
One thing that I overcame the challenge and achieve a personal goal is education. I came from a society where women were not giving the opportunity to go to school but I try to convince my parents and I promised them that I try my best and do whatever it takes to get to the level of the degree I wanted achieve. I believed that if I made it through all the challenges around me up to where I am today, is a big achievement working towards my goal.
Time management is the key to every plan. My aim is to become a nurse one day, therefore, my academic commitment set precedence over my other commitments. I will give my education higher priority but in essence where I have other commitments other than my education, I would plan myself accordingly where I would be able to give my full commitment to both
