A leader is someone who goes out of their way to do the right thing and will go through what is needed to achieve that right. Leaders are specified by many different traits but the one trait that could make anyone a leader is a voice. That is exactly what made Rosa Parks, Malala, and Nina Simone leaders to everyone still to this day.
Rosa Parks did not give her seat up, that one action caused uproar of controversy which helped shape the way people live today. “People always say that I didn’t give up my seat because I was tired but that isn’t true. I was not tired physically… No, the only tired I was, was tired of giving in.” Without Parks being tired of giving in, how everyone lives today could be completely different when it comes to races and equal rights. “Rosa Parks received many accolades during her lifetime, including the NAACP’s highest award.” So many people looked up to Parks and what she did, help making her the person she was and getting so many achievements during her lifetime. Rosa Parks did not give up her seat, and little did she know, that one action would trigger many more to the point where she became the leader she deserved to be.

Female schooling in Pakistan became legal by Malala Yousafzai and her action to make it right.
“Her primary cause – securing Pakistani girls’ access to education” Education was hard especially for females and Malala helped change that even if she would have to face consequences to which she did. “Malala has become perhaps the worlds most admired children’s-rights advocate, all the more powerful for being a child herself.” At only 14 years old, mala stood up for the females and even got shot, and then survived which helped make it the big cause that it was. Malala Yousafzai’s actions in Pakistan went worldwide to get the support and followers to be the leader she is still to this
day. Leadership has not only been determined by what people say but how they say it. In Nina Simone’s case she did it in the way of music. “She sang to share her truth, and her work still resonates with great emotion and power.” Simone’s music helped speak to people and often addressed problems going on in the world and she became very popular. Not for her looks or because she was in for a time, but for what she sang and how it spoke to people. “She has inspired an array of performers.” The way Simone put her thoughts and opinions into her music made others want to be just like her. Aretha Franklin and Joni Mitchell are just two examples of singers to which she inspired. Simone was different when it came to leadership, because she spoke to people in her music but it was still made clear. The three women have done so much in their lifetimes and helped shape the world to be how it is today and change people’s lives dramatically while inspiring many and that is what leaders are. From standing up for what they believe in and doing it in ways that are unique to how many leaders are usually determined, Rosa Park, Malala Yousafzai, and Nina Simone have become 3 of the most efficient female activists.
Rosa Parks’s story is very similar to Viola’s in the fact that both of them had taken a stand to racial segregation by taking a seat. For Rosa it all too similar to what happened to Viola as she had set in a seat which black people were not allowed to sit in, when she did this they asked her to move to where she was supposed to sit(at the back of the bus) but she refused and was arrested. Rosa Parks & Viola Desmond both did similar actions, however, what they received for doing this was very different once racial segregation was no longer socially acceptable was much
In conclusion, Rosa Parks was an outstanding hero that helped desegregate the city buses of Montgomery, Alabama. She gained a lot of fellow friendships and also became a civil right Activists. She earned a lot of respect and rewards for her actions of not giving her seat up. As you can see her life her hero story fits very well with Joseph Campbell’s stages of the hero’s
Life - Rosa Parks was born only a month before world war one started in Europe on February 4, 1913. Parks mother worked as a school teacher in Tuskegee, Alabama. James McCauley, Rosa's dad was a carpenter. They lived in Tuskegee and owned farmland of their own. After Sylvester was born, Rosa's little brother, her father left them and went off to live in another town. He had been cheated out of his farmland by a white man and couldn't support the family any longer. Rosa her mother and her brother then moved to live with her grandparents on a farm in Pinelevel, which lay between Tuskegee and Montgomery, Alabama. It was a small plot of land, but it kept them all fed. From this point on Rosa was mainly brought up by her Grandparents with the assistance of her mother. Rosa gave up school when she came close to graduating, around the same time Rosa got married. Raymond Parks married Rosa McCauley December 18, 1932. He was a barber from Wedowee County, Alabama. He had little formal education but a thirst for knowledge. Her husband, Raymond Parks, encouraged her to finish her courses. In 1934 she received her diploma from Alabama State College. She was happy that she completed her education but had little hope of getting a better job. When Rosa had finished school she was lucky enough to get a job as a seamstress in a local sewing factory. Prior to the bus incident Rosa was still fighting. She had run-ins with bus drivers and was evicted from buses. Parks recalls the humiliation: "I didn't want to pay my fare and then go around the back door, because many times, even if you did that, you might not get on the bus at all. They'd probably shut the door, drive off, and leave you standing there."
Rosa Parks risked her life everyday by being a leader and role model in her community. Rosa and her husband were both fired from their jobs and they had no income, which meant they had no money for their family. To make things worse Parks was getting threatening calls and it got to the point of
Rosa Parks was an African American woman who was brave enough to stand up to the whites. Even though she went to jail for what she did, she believes she did the right thing. What Rosa had done on the bus started boycotts and created more and more activists. People wonder if Rosa Parks was raised to stand up for herself or if she was supposed to stay quiet. Looking at Rosa’s life and what happened on the bus and beyond, it can be concluded that she was taught to take pride in her race.
During this time period, Rosa Parks was known as “The Mother of the Civil Rights Movement”. Rosa Parks died on October 25, 2005 at age 92. Rosa parks felt that everyone should be free and everyone should have the same rights. Rosa Parks was able to read when she was little because she was born 50 years after slavery, in 1913. Her mother taught her to read when she was very little because she was a teacher (Interview with Rosa Parks). The school she went to was very strict about the way things were done. For example:
Rosa Parks was an African-American women who was tired of being treated differently just because of her skin color. She was a very kind woman who fought against all the laws and segregation. Rosa was born in 1913 in Tuskegee, Alabama and died in 2005 in Detroit, Michigan (RM, plc. "Rosa (Louise McCauley) Parks"4). She did something that broke the law at the time but it changed this place and its keeps being an impact to everyone now in present days (Armentrout, DavidArmentrout, Patricia. "ALABAMA: Rosa Parks."1 ). She was on a Boycott bus on December 1, 1955 when the bus filled up and the African-Americans were supposed to give their seat up to the Americans but Rosa didn’t (Badertscher 1). She was 42 at this time so she knew what she was doing and she decided to do it anyways ("Rosa Parks"1). When she refused to give her seat up they ended up taking her to jail because she was breaking a law at the moment (Badertscher 7). She went to jail for something unfair, she was tired of getting no respect and treated like if she nobody or nothing in this world.
By not giving up her seat to a white man, Rosa Parks has started the cause of the civil rights movement in the United States. This helps all African Americans get rights in America. Rosa Parks saw racial discrimination in her early life. Also, she saw African Americans as not equal. She influenced the change of African American rights, which helped develop the Civil Rights Movement. Rosa Parks helped influenced society, when she said no to a white male for her seat. The boycott of African American rights started after Rosa Parks did not give up her seat. Rosa Parks did not know she was going to influence society, nor did she know she was going to get arrested by doing this. Rosa Parks influence has helped change society and also is still a great example to others today.
What is a leader? A leader is someone who takes command and leads an organization or group to success. Anyone can be a leader but in order to become a great leader you have to have to possess certain characteristics. I will be using Odysseus from the Odyssey isas an example of a leader who has suitable characteristics. You also have to know what harmful characteristics a leader may possess to determine if they are good leaders or not.
Rosa Parks: My Story is an autobiography. Parks tells about her vital role in the struggle for equality. In detail this book explains how the civil rights movements started. On December 1, 1955, Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat to a white man on a segregated bus, beginning the Montgomery, Alabama bus boycott.
A leader is a person that commands attention. The leader brings an ambience to the room. When a leader makes decisions, they have to be conscious about how they approach it. If you are considered being a leader, then people see something in you that no one else sees in you. As a leader, you have to consider the decisions that you make and that includes being ethical right. Leader should be prime examples for future leaders and show them the standards they have to uphold as leaders. The choice to make sure that you are not just making the right decision for yourself and others is a task. A person can only be a leader if they know how to be a leader. A leader is not for everyone and to be considering for the role you have to show that you are ready to the best. The role of leader does not limit themselves to what they do and how they do things. If you want to be a good leader, then look at leaders who represent good qualities. As a leader, you want to follow a person who does well and looks out for the good of people.
Malala is a fighter. She had a belief that all girls and boys should go to school. Sense she grew up in Birmingham, Pakistan, girls and boys were not allowed in school. She followed her dream of having all kids go to
A leader is described as a person who guides others and has authority and influence over others. They work to influence others into meeting certain goals. There is no right or wrong definition of a leader and there is no recipe that ensures effective leadership. Successful leaders have a good balance of vision, influence, and power. Leaders gain their authority from their ability to influence others to get the work done; because of this, anyone has the potential to be a leader. (Finkelman. 2012, p15)
To be a leader you need to be able to inspire others, get people motivated, and set an example to other people. A leader needs to do all of these because if one of these aspects fails people don’t look at the leader...
Leadership can be defined as the ability to direct the operations, activity, or performance of others. A leader is an individual who leads, guides or inspires others. A leader is someone who will take charge of a group or be vocal amongst others. However, to be a leader, one must not only have the ability to take charge or be vocal, but also must have the respect of others in the group, team, or organization. With leadership, perception is the better part of reality: Being a good leader may be difficult if followers do not perceive the individual as one (Altar 2006). A leader must know what his or her followers think. Most important leaders will say that leadership ability is the single most important personal attribute that one needs to succeed.
