Zodiac Astrology
Zodiac signs are based off the astrological constellations that are divided into twelve sections. Each sign has its own special meaning according to what constellation a birthday falls on, and all have names. The names of the Zodiacs are Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Capricorn, Leo, Libra, Virgo, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Pisces, and Aquarius. Each of these signs has an element, in example: Earth, Water, Fire, and Air. The Earth signs are Capricorn, Taurus, and Virgo. The Water signs are Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces. The Fire signs are Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius. The Air signs are Libra, Aquarius, and Gemini (Zodiac Signs, Characteristics, and Meanings).
Earth signs are considered to be “grounded”, conservative and realistic,

There are two basic astrological signs for each person, referred to as a Sun and Moon sign. A Sun is how one deals with the world, and the face one puts on for it. A Moon sign is how one truly feels and how one deals with emotions. The other astrological signs are Ascendant, Mercury, Mars, Venus, and the outer planets. In order to better understand the way people work, how one feels, and why one does what one does, people often turns towards astrology and the Zodiac. An Ascendant is how the world sees oneself, and the role one plays in it. A Mercury is the way one thinks; Mars is how someone deals with conflict. Venus is how one would deal with other people (Difference between Sun Sign and Moon …show more content…
An opening line quite common in the 80’s era was “What’s your sign?” referring to the Zodiac. In the likeness that the Lunar Moon phases control the waves of the oceans, the Zodiac controls people. In an event of all these things influencing humans and animals since birth, there seems to be a certain programming for it. As previously mentioned, horoscopes play a large role in the positive and negative thinking. It is said that horoscopes have been predicted a lot in the past, and continue to be relevant (Astrology Signs and Zodiac
The zodiac calendar is an astrological theory that divides the path that the sun seems to follow around the earth into twelve equal sections, each of which are associated with a sign, a symbol and a personality type. John Gardner embraces this astrological theme in his parallel novel, Grendel, by connecting each of the twelve chapters to its coinciding zodiac.
If there is one great constellation, it is the constellation of Gemini. As a Zodiac Constellation, it is only visible during parts of the year. It's two brightest stars, Castor and Pollux, give it the name of the Twins. Anyone born in the end of May until late June is said to have two faces: one of Pollux's and one of Castor's.

I have chosen to write about the constellation Cancer (The Crab). I chose Cancer because it is one of only a handful of constellations that I am actually able to identify in the night sky. Cancer is one of the twelve Zodiac constellations; people whose birthdays fall between June 21st and July 22nd have Cancer as their sign. Cancer is the Latin word for crab, and despite the fact that the constellation looks more like a lobster then a crab, it is still referred to as a crab. The constellation is visible from the northern hemisphere from late winter to early spring.
The basic astrological assumptions are not hard to grasp. For if astronomy is the study of the movements of the heavenly bodies, then astrology is the study of the effects of those movements. The astronomers of the ancient world assumed a division of the universe whereby the superior, immutable bodies of the celestial worlds ruled over the terrestrial or sublunary sphere, where all was mortality and change. It was assumed that the stars had special qualities and influences which were transmitted downwards upon the passive earth, and which varied in their effect, according to the changing relationship of the heavenly bodies to each other. They were led to postulate a single system in which the seven moving stars or planet shifted their position in relation to the earth and each other, against a fixed backcloth of the twelve signs of the zodiac.
Serial Killing is the illegal killing of one person by another and killings are committed for pleasure, control, mental problems, or for revenge. It is very astonishing that people will kill others for fun or because they feel isolated from society. With the existence of serial killers, there will be many more reasons why they kill and it will always surprise society for the reasons serial killers commit crimes. Society will also not be expected to know or understand when and why these crimes are being committed. The only people who will truly understand why crimes are committed are those who commit them.

It was not up until 200 years ago that people started identifying their zodiac sign with the position of the Sun. So when a person is asked what is his or sign, the Sun was passing through on the day that person was born. This can be demonstrated on a birth chart. Our birth charts are special "sky maps" which reflect the quality of the exact moment we drew our first breath. With that first breath, we each began our own incredible hero's journey through life on planet Earth. The birth positions of the Sun, the Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto all play their own unique symbolic roles as messengers and ambassadors of the universe.
Like math, astronomy incorporates a healthy (or-not-so-healthy, depending on your perspective) usage of symbols. These symbols are often times greek letters, like in many other forms of equations. These symbols are commonly used in formulas. There is practically an astrological formula for everything; formulas to calculate brightness, distance, luminosity, and a myriad of others. When people believe in astrology, what they believe is that the planets and stars directly or indirectly influence their lives and determine what happens to them in life. (Weblinkers.com Enterprises, p.1) The stars are said to show guidance and meaning for the lives of people. (Woolfolk, p.297)

A baby’s life helps to form and shape the future for that child; this goes the same for me. My birth, my sign, and my name, all relate to the way I live and act today. Many people may not see this connection for themselves, but it takes a little bit of research and thinking to come to realize why people are the way they are. Every day and every action that a child experiences can influence their actions as an adult.
