Have you ever had a character trait that is a hindrance to achieving your goal?An example of a character trait that is a hindrance is being a procrastinator.A procrastinator is someone that waits until the last minute to do something. This is a hindrance for someone that wants to be a teacher.A teacher can not wait till the last minute to put in grades or else not all the grades will be put in.A character trait that has been a hindrance to me is that I would rather do things by myself. First, I would rather do work by myself. This is a hindrance because I would like to be a chemical engineer,so I will have to work with people. If I try to work with people I get fed up with people.I just think people are idiots, and that they should not try

Friendship. Halley, from “Someone Like You” by Sarah Dessen, is Friendship. Halley is brave. Halley is strong and helpful for her friend Scarlett. Halley is friendship because she helps her friend Scarlett when she is sad, sick or just needs it. I think that Halley is very respectful to Scarlett and I hope to be as caring to my friends as Halley is to hers.
The root of procrastination can be found in the lack of planning. However, this weakness in my leadership role is more about the hesitation to prioritize and make effective leadership decisions. I tend to delay some important decisions and focus in some less essential ones to gain more time for what Roberts and Rowley called “lots of relationship behavior and support, but little direction” (2008, p. 62). This failing can cause a lot of delay to resolve some business challenges on a timely manner.
Writing a story is pretty difficult. Writing a short story is even harder, there is so much that has to be accomplished; in both commercial and literary fiction! The plot, the structure, whether it has a happy, unhappy, or indeterminate ending. There must be artistic unity, chance, coincidence, rising action, climax, falling action. Most importantly there must be characterization. Characters make the story! “anyone can summarize what a person in a story has done, but a writer needs considerable skill and insight into human beings to describe convincingly who a person is” [page 168]
Procrastination in terms of weakness of will has only been recently discussed in philosophical discourse. According to Richard Holton, weakness of will or the lack of willpower is defined as acting against one’s values or when one is too easily able to reconsider their intentions. Procrastination, by definition, is the act of avoiding completing tasks often until rearing that deadline. Procrastination has commonly been viewed as irrational and has held a negative connotation, partly due to being considered a willful act by an individual. Procrastination, like other aspects that resemble a lack of willpower, is naturally attached to the concept of weakness of will by not only laymen, but also theorists and philosophers. Only recently has procrastination
The Fosters makes me feel as though I am a part of the family every episode. Personally I do not consider having two moms is normal, but I can relate to some of the situations the characters go through because my family is not perfect. The Foster's deal with many different issues: break ups, hook-ups, romances, and important life lessons.
The things that make one different are the things that cause the world to change and lead to conformity. Uniqueness is a characteristic that is in everyone; no one person is the same. In this way, Equality 7-2521 from Anthem, a novel written by Ayn Rand, conforms to society on his outward actions to keep him safe, but on this inside, his drive for individuality and not being “normal” allows him to discover a tunnel in which he discovers multiple things like electricity. In a similar aspect, I seek to with my mind, as if a moving vehicle, swerve sharply to the opposite direction to avoid indifference and achieve my maximum potential.
The Way, a movie directed by director Emilio Estevez, is about how a california-based american ophthalmologist, Thomas Avery , tries to overcome the death of his son, Daniel , and ends up walking the camino to fulfill his son’s journey. The story goes along with four characters, each of them have different characteristics. However, there is one unique particular character in one of those four. He is by the name of Joost, who , unlike the others, is very humorous, joyful, and at the same time, serious side of him.
Whether you hate horror or love it, it’s inevitable that you will come across “Silence of the Lambs.” This landmark film, won an Oscar for Best Motion Picture, set the stage for all future horror films. The movie dives into the depths of the human brain: farther than we are willing to go. The plot involves a cannibal, Hannibal Lecter, and a gutsy FBI trainee, Clarice Starling, and a buffalo. Well not exactly a buffalo, but you’ll have to find out by yourself.
Psychology covers a huge field and one interesting aspect of it is personality. Personality by itself involves various issues. Some aspects are Psychoanalytic, Ego, Biological, Behaviorist, Cognitive, Trait, and Humanistic. Different types of behaviors are amazing to learn about, mainly the behavior therapy, collective behavior, crime and punishment, and Social behavior and peer acceptance in children. I chose Behaviorism over the other aspects because I believe behavior determines human personality and is very interesting. You can tell what one is by his behavior, and one behaves according to what place he has in society. By doing this paper on Behavior, I hope to get a better understanding of, if behavior develops a personality or if personality guides behavior. I also see behaviorism helping me in the future with my personal and professional career by understanding human personality and behavior better than I do. No matter what your major is, if you can determine one's personality by his behavior you can really get your work done from that person and understand the better than you would otherwise. This person could be your employee or your employer. Behavior Therapy Behavior therapy is the application of experimentally derived principles of learning to the treatment of psychological disorders. The concept derives primarily from work of Russian psychologist Ivan Pavlov. Behavior-therapy techniques differ from psychiatric methods, particularly psychoanalysis, in that they are predominately symptom (behavior) oriented and shows little or no concern for unconscious processes, achieving new insight, or effecting fundamental personality change. The U.S. psychologist B.F. Skinner, who worked with mental patients in a Massachusetts State hospital, popularized behavior therapy. From his work in animal learning, Skinner found that the establishment and extinction of responses can be determined by the way reinforces, or rewards, are given. The pattern of reward giving, both in time and frequency, is known as a schedule of reinforcement. The gradual change in behavior in approximation of the desired result is known as shaping. More recent developments in behavior therapy emphasize the adaptive nature of cognitive processes. Behavior-therapy techniques have been applied with some success to such disturbances as enuresis (bed-wetting), tics, phobias, stutteri...
There are many obstacles that I may encounter that are both internal and external. A huge potential barrier between me and my meaningful and significant life is my internal struggle with time management. Procrastination is something I am very good at. I know it's nothing to brag about but sometimes I feel like I just can't help it. Even when I actually am focu...

I identify shame in the form of procrastination as a potential red flag due to the fact that others want to delay judgment of their work or ideas. Due to fear of judgment and being shamed, some might either delay work intentionally or become compulsive and seek perfection, thus delaying.
Procrastination is referred to the irrational and voluntary delay despite the fact that this intended behavior will result in a negative effect on the individual and can even come at a cost of favorable outcomes (Lay, 1986; Steel, 2007).
