Have you ever watched the TV show Psych? Well, if you haven't, it's a comedy crime solving show with Shawn (James Roday) and his best friend Gus (Dule Hill) as the main characters. Shawn has an awesome adventure with the Santa Barbara Police Department who are quite on the spectacle side about his abilities, but they never point fingers at him. He, is a person I would like to be. Shawn is nothing impressive physically. He is about 5’7” with short brown hair and brown eyes. He has average body muscle, average running speed, etc. He likes to wear city clothes, mostly jeans and a tee. Shawn drives a motorcycle and does not own a car. Although his physical state is nothing impressive, his mind is. He is extremely intelligent and observes of his
surroundings to find clues. He is also extremely sarcastic. When he is solving crimes, he puts the puzzle together faster than even the main detective of the SBPD. Shawn does have the tenancy to do illegal things to get information, but he never gets caught. Shawn is like the perfect example of someone I would like to be. Every teacher tells me that I am extremely smart, but I never show it. Shawn is sort of like that and not many people see that. Solving crime in my opinion is interesting to me. I would really like to be a detective and Shawn is. I also like to have fun which is something Shawn gets to do. Overall, Shawn isn't a very compassionate person, but has more good traits than bad. That is a good thing for a crime scene investigator. The only thing that isn't that impressive about him is his physical ability. I would really like to be him.
Doug Swieteck, from “Okay for Now”, by Gary D. Schmidt, lived a life in anger. At the beginning of the book, he was very hateful of everything. He had spent a long time in anger and disgust, trying to find a way in life. Near the beginning of the book, Joe Pepitone gave Doug his baseball cap and jacket in person, to Doug. But, Doug’s mean older brother took the cap and his dad took his jacket. That added to Doug’s anger even more. But, luckily he turned it around in the middle and end of the book. He ended being a lot happier and was able to control his emotions better.
Facts: Chet is basically Gene's only real competition in school for valedictorian but Chet doesn't really notice it as competition because his love of learning is so sincere. Though why did Chris McCandless leave such a strong impression on them? Well, in the book “Into the Wild” by Jon Krakauer, one can read how Chris influenced people, encouraged them, how people thought he was a hard worker that lived out his own beliefs and there are many more reasons
Using the block method I will illustrate the differences and similarities of Connie’s character verses her sister June’s character from the story where are you going, where have you been. The story is about a protagonist fifteen year old girl called Connie who is living in her rebellious adolescent stage. She does not enjoy the fact that she is living with her family and most of the time she lets her mind wander into daydreaming spending time with the boys. Connie’s tenacious nature makes her almost argue with her mother about every little issue. Her older sister June who is twenty four on the other hand gets along well with her mother and she is considered the better of the two, June is an obedient hardworking lass who works as the secretary at Connie’s high school . She is tranquil in nature and does her chores with no fuss at all. Connie’s mother plays an important role on the story to bring out Connie’s character, she is envious of Connie’s beauty and her youthful nature. Connie’s dad on the other hand is more of a workaho...
The new phases of life and social context is predicated through the sum of feats and experiences as crises and adversity are usually the greatest motivator which propel individuals to become better than they were before. J.C. Burke’s ‘The Story of Tom Brennan’ (TSTB) is an example of the transitional process through entering a new, unknown area which acts as a catalyst for beneficial change. Obstructed by turmoil both mentally and physically, the protagonist Tom Brennan relieves his severe life in the town of Coghill achieving new standards in conjunction to Lisa Forrest’s article ‘Testing new waters after leaving the swimming pool’ (TNWALTS) is another type towards transitional change that explores the personal crisis and career changes over
Officer Jenkins graduated from The University of Alabama in 1947. He was going to pursue his dream of becoming a professional football player, but in his last game at The University of Alabama he was hit in the head while diving for a ball in the endzone. His dream of becoming a professional football player was over, so he decided to become part of the police force. Today, Officer Jenkins is recognized all over the country for his bravery and commitment to the police force. Kevin Hart is a good fit for this role, because just like Officer Jenkins, he is well known all over the
Gus:“You named your fake detective agency ‘Psych’? As in ‘got you’? Why didn't you just call it ‘Hey, we're fooling you and the police department; hope we don't make a mistake and somebody dies because of it.’" Shawn: “First of all, Gus, that name is entirely too long; it would never fit on the window. And secondly, the best way you convince people you're not lying to them is to tell them you are!” (“Psych (TV Series)”). One of the greatest comforts is comedy and its amazing ability to palliate tragic situations. This comedic comfort is seen in the American comedy series, Psych, that airs on USA Network. In this series, a man named Shawn Spencer (portrayed by James Roday) acts as a maven in solving crimes alongside his partner, Burton Guster
How Influence Can Change a Person As someone once said…. “Sometimes people come into your life for a moment, a day, or a lifetime. It matters not the time they spent with you but how they impacted your life in that time.” – Unknown.
In the short story Harrison Bergeron by Kurt Vonnegut, Jr, the government takes fourteen year old Harrison Bergeron away from his parent George and Hazel. This all occurs during the year of 2081, and amendments 211, 212, and 213 are in play during this time period. Hazel is only allowed to have average intelligence, and her husband George wears a helmet on his head, which limits his thinking. Hazel and George are watching the television as two ballerinas dance, but they are wearing radios, which restrict them and make them dance the same. Hazel said if she was a handicap general she would make chimes ring on Sunday to make it religious. Hazel tells George to take a nap because he look tired from wearing the handicap bag that weighs in at forty pounds. She suggests he takes some weight out but for every weight he takes out he goes to jail for that many years. Also everyone would go back to his or her competitive ways in the community, and he doesn’t want that.
The Fosters makes me feel as though I am a part of the family every episode. Personally I do not consider having two moms is normal, but I can relate to some of the situations the characters go through because my family is not perfect. The Foster's deal with many different issues: break ups, hook-ups, romances, and important life lessons.
The main character of Mr. Brooks is nothing short of a self-made man with a loving family and a productive business. However, not everything is what it seems. Mr. Brooks has a constant urge to kill. Like most real life serial killers, Mr. Brooks has a charming personality on the outside but a twisted brain on the inside. Every single action he took was thoughtfully played out, as if he were acting in a stage play with no chances of failure. Many psychopaths portray a high IQ and intelligence just like Mr. Brooks had. However, Mr. Brooks was not a psychopath. Deep down inside, he still harvested a strong familial love for his wife and daughter, and understood the mental and physical consequences of his actions. Instead, Mr. Brooks is the type of character that cannot be explained with just one theoretic analysis. The story illustrates that Mr. Brooks was a psychotic suffering from schizophrenia and that somehow his urge to kill could be passed down by generations. With this outline the
Regardless, of his Ph. D Brent Staples was penalized for his appearance. The first time he notices how others viewed him to no fault of his own was an eye opener. Being categorized with delinquents and having such negative effect on others prompt him to take caution of mindless actions. For example, a simple thing from walking in the park, browsing in stores, or even running into the building he works at. Brent Staples would take the time to analyze his movement to create the best outcome to prevent being harmed. He changes his attar to business clothing from jeans and he whistles classical music to show he is educated and he waits for paranoid people to feel safe before entering a lobby. Brent Staple was able to survive a rough childhood that
Also another reason why Lauren is unique because she does not want having other people pick on her. When the popular girls shooting paintballs at her she really want them to pick on someone else instead of her and Kayley. For example, almost at the end of the story Lauren and Kayley are walking up the hill Lauren thinks about why the popular girls had to pick them. She said “I wish they hadn’t picked us. There are plenty of unpopular girls to go.” Another example is when Kayley whispered “Freak the Geek” Lauren was really pissed about this traditions. She was really pissed because of this silly traditions because she said. ”I’m pissed because you only hear those
