They made up a how to survive a blizzard game, Kenny said that he would play the game with them but the game was a series of tricks to humiliate Kenny. Byron has also called Kenny many names like Poindexter. Byron once had gotten his lips stuck to a mirror, because he thinks he was too pretty to come from Kenny's mom and dad. He was very ungrateful. Byron made this remark because he was an adopted child, and Kenny's parents were not his biological parents. In all these ways Byron was nasty and cruel to Kenny and his
family. Kenny and Byron are opposites of each other, while one is nice and the other is cruel, they both have strong characteristics. Byron characteristics is more of a trouble maker and not a person you would want to be around. He is a boy that humiliate and enjoy doing such to others and to Kenny his brother. In conclusion to this brotherhood Kenny would get first place for kindest brother. “The chilling truth is that his story could have been mine. The tragedy is that my story could have been his” (Moore, 2011). This quote perfectly describes the book The Other Wes Moore. This book was a story about two people who have the same name and grew up in similar environments, but had very different lives. The author of the book, Mr. Moore, became successful and was given the opportunity to receive “one of the most prestigious academic awards for students in the world” (Moore, 2011). On the other side of the spectrum, the other Wes Moore “will spend every day until his death behind bars for an armed robbery that left a police officer and a father of five dead” (Moore, 2011). Mr. Moore decided to contact the
Kenny’s self changes happened from his school experiences, his and Byron’s relationship, and the vivid events that happened to him and his family in Birmingham, Alabama that he brought with them to Flint, Michigan. Kenny’s physical and emotional changes played a good and bad role that turned out good life experiences for him. But if it wasn’t for Byron’s self changes, he would have never been able to change Kenny for the better. In my opinion, Kenny has made the biggest self changes that not only impacted him, but the whole Watson
When two siblings are born together, and are close in age, many people wonder whether they will be the same or different altogether. A “River Runs through it” shows two brothers who grew up in the same household, and grew up loving to do the same activity fly fishing. Both brothers were raised in a very strict presbyterian household. Norman is the older brother, and he is much more responsible and family orientated. Paul is the irresponsible younger brother; Paul as an adult was not at home much anymore. Both brothers were loved equally as children, but how they view and use love is what separates them. Paul and Norman differ in behavior and character.
Christopher Johnson McCandless, a.k.a Alexander Supertramp, “Master of his Own Destiny.” He was an intelligent young man who presented himself as alone but really he was never lonely. However, he believed that life was better lived alone, with nature, so he ventured off throughout western United States before setting off into Alaska’s wild unprepared where he died. Some may say he was naive to go off on such a mission without the proper food and equipment but he was living life the way he wanted to and during his travels he came across three people: Jan Burres, Ronald Franz, and Wayne Westerberg. McCandless befriended these people, it is believed that he made such a strong impression on them that their connection left them with strange feelings after finding out about McCandless’ death.
In the novel The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton a teenage boy named Ponyboy lives with his two older brothers named Soda and Darry, and there is some controversy on whether or not his brothers are able to take proper care of Ponyboy. All three of the brothers are apart of the neighborhood gang called “The Greasers”, which is more like a brotherhood of underprivileged boys that have eachother’s backs rather than a gang. Ponyboy finds himself involved with the murder of an egotistical “Soc” named Bob, and is at risk of being taken away from his family and friends. Ponyboy should be able to stay with his brothers, because he is a well-rounded student that obeys the law for the most part, and his brothers are able to provide financial and emotional
The episode begins with Chris explaining that he had gotten involved in a fight with the school bully, Caruso, and was beaten up and lost. However, because he is black, all of the faculty and children at the school assumed that Chris did more violent and horrible things to Caruso than actually occurred, such as hurting Caruso’s family, calling him a “cracker”, and stealing his house. Some of the teachers actually go so far as to avoid Chris out of fear of him starting some kind of trouble. Chris is the only black person at his school and is constantly stereotyped by his white schoolmates. In one part of the episode, Chris explains how the children find him fascinating because he is black, treating him more as an exhibit of sorts to be ogled at rather than actual person. The kids ask to touch his hair and ask him racist questions such as "Do you know Gary Coleman?" assuming he does simply because he is black.

In the novel, A Separate Peace, the characters Finny and Gene are pretty much complete opposites, yet they are great friends. In general, Finny has the upper hand, because of his ability to socialize and work well with other people. Gene even says, “He possessed an extra vigor, a heightened confidence in himself, a serene capacity for affection which saved him. Nothing as he was growing up at home, nothing at Devon, nothing even about the war had broken his harmonious and natural unity. So at last I had.” (John Knowles, page 194-195) Gene clearly states that Finny is “unlike other young man, and that nothing could cause a disturbance in
The story is told by a third person narrator, who is following Myrna. We only hear Myrna’s thoughts and we only see what she sees. This makes the story very one sided. This means that we don’t know how Kenny feels or how he thinks. We are only able to deduct how he appears, from what we hear from his mother’s thoughts. She might be right about him not caring. What we have no chance of knowing is if he actually cares. We never get his opinion. As previously already stated, this makes the story very one sided and not very objective.
