Freddie Mercury: the showstopper Freddie mercury is a British songwriter and singer, the lead vocalist of Queen. He is best known for his extravagant arena performance and show stopping vocal range. In my humble opinion, he is one of the greatest live rock and roll vocalists of all time. His live performance is simply phenomenal. He was not shy at all about performing in front 758,000 people, in contrary, he is commanding the crowd. His flamboyance on stage is backed by his energy and passion. “The bigger the better.” he answered when asked whether he was ever intimidated by the size of his audience. His vocal defiance was what defines the whole 70s. It never fails to fascinate me every time I watch him live.
