To Kill a Mockingbird
In the book To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, there is a character of the name Atticus Finch a very admired and respected man throughout the entire book. He has the traits of a man everyone should take note of.
One of the traits that has caught the eyes of readers, is the way he treats his kids, and how he doesn’t want to mess up or set a bad example for them. “ Seconds later, it seemed, his shoe was gently nudging my ribs. He lifted me to my feet and walked me to my room… He unhooked my overalls, leaned me against him, and pulled them off. Marksmanship is a gift of God,a talent- Oh you have to practice to make it perfect (Lee pg 130).” Atticus Finch is the same on the streets as he is at home or anywhere else. It takes a lot from someone to act the same everywhere they go. “Atticus Finch is the same in his house as he is on the public streets (Lee pg46)
The final trait of Atticus Finch is the most caring and reliable person in the book, He also gives his kids a point of view in life. “- Until you climb into his skin and walk around in it (Lee pg 30).” This quote Atticus told Scout is a saying she’ll carry around with her for the rest of her life. “This time we aren’t fighting the yankees, we’re fighting our friends. But remember this, no matter how bitter things get, they’re still our friends and this is still our home (Lee pg 102).”
In conclusion, throughout the book the character Atticus Finch is a very admired man. But also throughout the book there are so many other traits that describe Atticus Finch but the one that were chosen were just a small bit of him.
