Everyone is unique, every group consists of different individuals who are even though brought to group by similarities and similar interests, however each of them differences from one another. In this example group so called “Greasers” has a very tight relationship, and are ready to help each other because they were raised basically by the same environment. In my opinion Dallas one of the characters plays important role in this movie that even though is older than his boys and not participating too much with in his group is still helps younger boys and teaches them life tricks. He feels very comfortable with boys and he doesn’t really feel more important than they are. He knows if something bad happened they are going to him like …show more content…
For example identity vs. role confusion where they didn’t have an example of parents who they will become so some of them drop out school and went into criminal things because they didn’t have their parents to tell them what is okay for them and what is not. A next step followed Intimacy vs. Isolation where some of the boys were shyer to talk to others and couldn’t open to others only to the people they really used to. The next step that was broken is Generatively vs. Stagnation where some of the boys didn’t feel like they are a part of something big they felt like they are nothing low self esteem they thought that nothing good will come out of them. And as a result of this an Ego vs. Despair is coming where as old people before we die we think about our life and how we lived. If there was something we could’ve done different what was good and what was not so. At the end as Johnny was dying he said even though I am dying I don’t regret that saved those children from the fire because they need to explore new things their life is big and …show more content…
In the Greasers group they lived very hard time no one had a parents attention they didn’t know what is okay and what is not they didn’t have love from the family side. He lives in a bar had a party mall the time he does whatever he wants to do. Dallas is the oldest in the group is always angry and acts wild he doesn’t care about anything has a dissolute life the reason of this is no parents control, he feels lonely and he holds everything inside of him and never shares feelings with anyone else. He is trying to act like everything is okay but sometimes it’s hard and in one situation he might just explode. Because of this reason these lead to unpredictable consequences where he robbed a store which he shouldn’t rob and got killed when he was trying to run away I think that he didn’t have anyone to care about him he grew up as strong and independent man that was able to solve his problem on his own. Ponyboy’s parents died in an accident when he was just a child and he was raised without them. He spend most of his time on a street learned everything about life there sometimes even slept outside because he didn’t want to go home. He grew up as a great friend with very kind personality that was the first one who went to save kids from the fire. He was not very violent and liked to talk nice to people and solve everything just by conversation but he wanted to participate
...age and the crisis of integrity versus despair however, the two characters had different characteristics that categorize them in different ends of the crisis. Throughout the movie, the audience is able to visualize what types of issues are dealt with as well as what type of problems the characters had to go through to resolve their crisis. Chelsea also had different issues than Billy due to the fact; each were facing a different stage as well as crisis. Personally this movie provide me a great understanding in human development; I was able to understand why each person does a certain action: for instance my sister is disrespectful and immature because she is facing the adolescence stage as well as the identity versus role confusion stage. I also learned that a crisis can truly affect a person in a negative; if the person is not able to fully deal with their crisis.
The book The Outsiders is the realistic story about this between two very different groups in a town in the United States: the poor Greasers from the east side, and the Socs, whitch is what the greasers call the socials, the richer boys from the other side of the town. Ponyboy Curtis is the narrator of the story, a 14-year-old boy who lives with his two older brothers, Darry and Soda. He is a pretty good athlete and student, but is not treated the same as the richer students at his school. Ponyboy uses to have long hair that he greases back, a symbol of being in the outsider gang. He is unhappy with his situation, because Darry is too protective of him and he always has to be afraid of Socs attacking him.
The Outsiders is a book about Greasers And Socs. The Greasers are the poor east side kids they would wear their hair long and greasy and they will dress in blue jeans, T-shirts, or wear they shirttails out and wear a leather jacket and tennis shoes or boots. The Socs are the rich west side kids that worn nice clothes, drove nice cars, and had all the pretty lady’s. They both was gangs in Oklahoma. The Socs they would jump Greasers, wreck houses, and throw beer blasts for kicks.
Two people with two completely different characteristics have something alike. Both Dally and Johnny are mentally tough because of their parents. Johnny and Dally’s parents both do not care for them and could care less about them. For example, during Dally’s childhood he went to jail, been in a gang, and has been in many fights and his dad still would not care for him even if he won the lottery. Dally also talks about his dad's disgrace towards him in the car with Johnny and Ponyboy, “‘ Shoot, my dad don’t give a hang whether I’m in jail or dead in a car wreck or drunk in a gutter...’”(88). Dally could easily live without his dad and he does for the most part. Dally just hangs around with his friends and stays at their place. Similarly, Johnny's parents use him like a rag doll to blow off steam, “his father always beating him up”(14). The gang knows what happenes in Johnny’s house. Once Ponyboy was witnessing, “Johnny take a whipping with a two-by-four from his old man”(33). Ponyboy talks about how loud and mean Johnny's mom is and,“you can...

Have you ever heard about the hippie who had to go to a Middle School after living on a remote farm in the novel Schooled by Gordon Korman? Well, Capricorn Anderson is a flower child who lives at Garland Farms until his grandmother, Rain, falls out of a plum tree, which changes this hippie’s life. Now, Cap has to go to a public middle school and live with Mrs.Donnelley, a social worker, which he is not prepared for.He is just a hippie with a soul of good, who is not prepared for physical fights, cursing, and even video games! He doesn’t understand this modern world; he’s as lost as a kit who couldn’t find her mother.
Greasers were the lowest among the society. The society had negative thoughts towards Greasers, because there were not many things people expected from the Greasers other than doing bad things such as stealing, having rumble, and other bad things that happened around the society. Not every Greaser does bad things, however, the Greasers took the blame for anything bad even if it was the Socs fault. It is because everyone expected the Greasers to do bad things instead of the Socs. Even though the Greasers had a bad reputation, they didn’t care, but instead they enjoyed their lives. Sometimes the Greasers do bad things but only for fun and because it was the society’s expectations. If the Greasers did something good, no one would expect or believe the Greasers did it. No one would ever expect the Greasers to be heroes, just like the man whose kids were saved by Johnny, Ponyboy, and Dallas. “’Mrs. O’Briant and I think you were sent straight from heaven. Or are you just professional heroes or something?’ Sent from heaven? Had he gotten look at Dallas? ‘No, we’re greasers.’” (Page...
For one, we do not see much child-to-parent action in the book, but we know that the Curtis family is broken. Before the book takes place, both of Ponyboy's parents died in an auto wreck. After that, Darry took care of Ponyboy and Sodapop, but was always strict with Ponyboy. Darry did not show much love either, and was always cold-hearted and hurt people without realizing it. Johnny's parents would always fight; while his father was abusive and hit Johnny every single day he was home, his mother completely ignored Johnny unless she was yelling at him, which, according to Ponyboy, you could hear all the way to the Curtis house. Although the book does not specify, I infer that Two-Bit, Steve, and especially Dally have family problems additionally. According to another article, Two-Bit's father left his family without notice and left Two-bit to take care of his mother. Dally, I believe, particularly had past family issues. We do not hear about Dally's family at all in the book, and that might be for a specific purpose. Ponyboy says that Dally used to live in New York when he was jailed at only ten years old. Ponyboy also says that Dally is the toughest and the meanest. Before Dally was ten years old, he, most likely, was a juvenile delinquent. This might of been caused by peers, family troubles, or even past traumas. Ponyboy also says that Dally has seen much worse in New York than Johnny after he was beaten up by four Socials. Past trauma and family issues are great factors in why the Greasers are juvenile delinquents. Peer influence is unquestionably a key factor in the character's behavior. Greasers surround themselves with greasers, and socials surround themselves with socials. Almost everyone in these two groups remains juvenile delinquents, and will continue to
A peer group can help one find their own identity by shaping an individual’s short-term choices, such as appearances and interests. They help a young person figure out how they fit in the world. “You’re not like the rest of us and don’t try to be” is told by one of the members of the gang. Ponyboy will have a hard time trying to not grow up like the rest of the pack because being in a gang like the Greasers,

In this paper I am going to write about the movie “Grease.” Specifically, on the two main characters Sandy and Danny. I will be describing and analyzing their interpersonal communication, but mainly on the conflict of their communication.
“Summer lovin’ had me a blast, summer lovin’ happened so fast” popular lyrics from a song from the timeless classic musical Grease, about two teens who fall in love in the 1950s. It stars John Travolta as Danny Zuko, a greaser who is the leader of the “T-Birds” and Olivia Newton-John who plays Sandy Olsson, an Australian “goody two shoes” visiting California for summer vacation. During their time spent together at the beach, they fall in love, only to be torn apart at the end of the summer when she has to move back to Australia with her family. What he does not know is that she does not move back, and on the first day of school, Sandy befriends a popular group of girls known as the “Pink Ladies” who are all friends with Danny. At the first
To critique the film castaway I would say that they did not show enough of what he had to do to survive for the 4 years on the island they showed him catching a few fish and the showed him cracking coconuts but they never showed him trying to catch any animals or setting any traps that he might find on an island. Also, I would have little bit more of the time that they were having at home searching for him or at his funeral. They just showed him at the island for the whole time and the only time we saw any other characters were at the beginning and the end.
The well known phrases ¨grease is the word¨, and ¨what team? Wildcats¨ emerged decades apart, yet from almost the same movie. With a twenty eight year age gap between the movies Grease and High School Musical, the differences are impossible to avoid, examples being the way the characters handled their problems. Their respective time periods influence the leading characters, (also called protagonists), Sandra Dee and Danny Zuko in Grease and Gabriella Montez and Troy Bolton in High School Musical, each in the way society views women. Set in the 1950’s, a period often viewed as one of conformity, Grease's, Sandra and Danny portrait traditional gender roles; she desperately craved his approval. For example, at the end of the movie, she changes
