Question 1 When trying to determine what it means to be a ?good man? or good woman? in A Good Man is Hard to Find, you must first analyze the moral and ethical traits of the characters. Another important factor to explore is the motivation of the individual when considering if someone is a ?good man? or ?good woman?. Were the individual?s bad choices unintentional or did he knowingly make bad choices for purely selfish reasons? The story of A Good Man is Hard to Find is composed of characters that display an array of characteristic traits that can be both good and bad. The story allows us to view the changes within the grandmother and The Misfit. There are many various character classifications such as round, flat, dynamic, and static (Kirszner & Mandell, 2012). The main character in the story is the grandmother. The grandmother can be described as a round, dynamic character since she is closely involved in the action and changes her behavior by the end of the story. From the very beginning we can understand that her motives are purely selfish. She attempts to manipulate everyone throughout the story.
