At that moment, Chandler's heart shattered in his chest. He wanted to break down in tears and take Joey's pain away. Someone had hurt Joey – his Joey – in such a horrible way, he would be scarred for life. And the worst thing was that Joey felt responsible for what had happened. Although Chandler was tempted to let his emotions control him, he remained perfectly calm, he owed that to Joey. Besides, the last thing he needed right now was for Chandler to be an emotional mess. He needed Chandler to stay strong and reassure him. His thoughts were racing with what this meant for them. What would come after this. What would Joey have to go through. “ What are you sorry for, Babe ? It's not your fault. ” Joey stayed quiet which was heartbreaking
Joey was a frail child, yet he was tough. Innocently, he showed great affection toward Josh, though, Josh was not deserving of the love Joey showed. As the Depression prolonged, Stefan’s attitude worsened. Often times, Josh was the subject in which his father carried out his rage. Josh’s father was a proud man, and once the Depression hit, all of his pride was ripped away from him. Stefan stated quite often, He pulled himself up by his own bootstraps, then suddenly, his bootstraps, his thriftiness, and his industry were all pulled away from beneath
Joey’s social relationships have also been impacted by his behavior. He has experienced social rejection and even social isolation. The other students call him Zippy due to his hyperactivity. When moved to the special education classroom, Joey befriends a boy named Harold and meets another friend, Charlie, when sent to the special education center. Making new friends with others that also have disabilities gave them something in common.
Also, we see how Howie’s death traumatized Josh and Joey and they carried the effects of this experience for the rest of their lives. Again, one sees how begging for food to stay alive can cause painful and emotional scars although in many instances the shame weighs down more than the physical hardships itself. Working long hours is taxing but having to sing, play a piano, and dance makes it all the more exhausting. To wrap up, even though Josh did not have many affections for his father, he later realizes how similar they are, and how much his father loves and cares for him which later prompts Josh and Joey to go home to their
Christine Scavello and her son are walking to their car when an old woman appears and begins to shout, "He must die!" toward Joey, and rants the phrase, "Don't you know what he is?" Later, they see the same woman outside a window at their house and then she calls them on the phone several times, again saying that Joey must die. It is then that they decide to hire a private investigator.
Throughout the episode I felt a great deal of sadness for the children that had to be involved in his mess of an addiction. Each child was suffering in their own way because he refused to quit crystal meth and would come home late at night therefore spending no time with his family. I think the child that was affected the greatest was his son. His son repeatedly said that he missed his father, and how the used to go fishing and spend time together. His son needs him the most to look up to, count on and teach him...
The Costello brothers relationship is filled with compassion and warmth. According to the text, “You need a ride home?” “Nah, I’ll catch a ride with Mike.” Page 46. This wasn’t turning out as he had expected it to. Hell, nothing had turned out as he had expected. He had a bad feeling about everything and was on the way to tell Kyle what was going to happen at the restaurant, but his car had a flat and he didn’t have cell reception where he was stranded. He had told the guys to only throw Kyle out of the restaurant and stop him from getting back in.
He describes that his sister, Nicole, helped him during his years at high school. Joey claims that she drove him and even escorted him to his first class. However, Graceffa had his downs of high school. He took note of all the cliques in school, but he felt like he still didn’t fit in. Graceffa constantly got picked on. Sometimes, he was picked on because of his hairstyle, and other times it was because his clothes smelled like smoke. That wasn’t all for Graceffa, though. He got question if he was gay a lot, since he acted rather feminine. At the time, Joey didn’t realize that he was, but his sister saved him from feeling left out. Nicole allowed Joey to sit with her and her friends at lunch, so he felt more comfortable around them. Overall, high school was quite the roller-coaster for
A few seconds after Maggie made eye-contact with the young boy, who seemed to be demonically possessed, she fainted from fear, and fell to the floor. Reagan and Chandler ran down the stairs screaming to get their dad. Once they reached their parent’s room, Chandler pulled the covers off of their father and Rachel tapped his face, but there was no response. After several minutes of trying to awaken their dad, they called 911 for an ambulance. While waiting for the ambulance to arrive, Reagan and Chandler sullenly went back upstairs to check on their mom. To their surprise, Maggie was awake and crouched down in the corner of their bedroom. The boy, which was previously there, was now nowhere in sight. Relieved, they rushed over to their mom and asked what happened. Maggie couldn’t tell them, because she didn’t have a clue what had happened. Reagan and Chandler carefully guided their mom down the stairs to their dad. Maggie was startled when she saw her husband lying unresponsive on the bed and immediately started CPR. After what seemed like an eternity of chest compressions and mouth-to-mouth, the ambulance finally arrived and rushed Joe to the nearest
Joey was given a more stern parenting style while he was staying with the Porters. This helped Joey see that there are times when you cannot say no and get away with it. It helped teach Joey respect for adults. The Porters could have helped Joey by easing him into their different style of parenting.
Martinez told me “ Joey wiped his blood on her face” called her a “whore” and yelled at her saying “ be respectful to my friends”. Martinez told me Chris had threatened to “ take her to the lake”.
