Located east of the small town of Monmouth, Illinois is Cerar’s Barnstormer. Cerar’s is very unassuming from the outside. There are no gleaming neon signs, outdoor smoking areas or music played over speakers like you’d find at, say, Texas Roadhouse. It has a simple, lighted sign displaying the restaurant’s name and a tattered orange windsock reflecting the aviation theme for which it’s named and decorated. Looks, however, can be deceiving; as is the case with Cerar’s Barnstormer. Once inside you’ll find a dining experience that is usually only found at upper end restaurants in larger metropolitan areas. Despite its almost kitschy décor, Cerar’s Barnstormer is an excellent dining experience.
Cerar’s Barnstormer first opened for business in May of 1985, founded by Bernie and Monique Cerar. Today, the restaurant is owned and managed by Bernie and Monique’s son, Kevin Cerar. Kevin has continued the tradition of using nothing but quality ingredients in everything that’s served in the restaurant. Juicy steaks with just the right amount of marbling and fresh seafood is always on the menu....

As strategy consultants of McCormick & Associates, we use Porters Five Forces Model as a framework when making a qualitative evaluation of a firm's strategic position (Appendix 1.2). These five forces determine the competitive intensity and therefore attractiveness of a market. These forces affect the ability of a company to serve its customers and make a profit. A change in any of the forces normally requires a company to re-assess the market place.
Two locally owned famous restaurants in Sedalia, Missouri, El Espolon and El Tapatio, are both recognized as quality, authentic Mexican restaurants that serve Sedalia with outstanding service and great food. After paying each establishment a visit this past weekend, I have discovered some differences and similarities in the two. Although many of my relatives have chosen El Espolon as their favorite, I found El Tapatio to provide a more ethnic experience with their excellent food, sharp service, and clean venue.

If there is one place in Naples that I never get tired of going to, and where I can have fun just by basking in the ambiance of its atmosphere, it’s the authentic Mexican restaurant, Cilantro Tamales. At first glance the restaurant seems to be in an inconspicuous spot, lying in a strip mall containing a no-name music store and consignment shop. However, despite the location, Cilantro Tamales stands out from all other restaurants or gathering places.

In 1982, Jim Disbrow and Scott Lowery had recently moved to Columbus, Ohio after living in Buffalo, New York and found themselves craving the authentic, Buffalo, New York-style chicken wings they’d grown to love. The problem was that they were nowhere to be found in their new city of Columbus. The two friends decided to take matters into their own hands and created their own signature sauce recipe to satisfy their craving. Jim and Scott’s signature wings began drumming p great demand and the pair opened up their first restaurant, “Buffalo Wild Wings & Weck” near the campus of The Ohio State University. The restaurant was a hit with college students and since then has developed a fanatical following across the
It resembled a Parisian café and a classic American home at the same time. It was a refreshing change to all of the stop-and-go coffee shops that are packed in every street crevasse. Ralph's has plenty of seating and the decor makes you feel like you are sitting in RL's kitchen. The contrast of the white marble and dark oak was to die for. Even the staff looked the part with green striped button-downs and khakis with the signature embroidered Ralph's apron.

The exterior of the Lake Pointe Grille may initially turn off potential customers. The box-shaped, strip-mall style building doesn’t necessarily scream quality at first glance. Not too many people dined that hour at Lake Pointe Grille when my friend and I arrived, likely contributing to how quick our service was. After receiving the choice to dine either outside or inside the restaurant, we felt compelled to sit outside and the hostess led us to our table. The atmosphere outside barely had anything going for it, unless a few roads, trees, cornfields and a single store nearby qualify as breathtaking scenery to some people. Maybe John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads” would be fitting here. The waitress treated us politely and we
Sitting in my local Starbucks, casually gazing at the people walking in, who are anxiously awaiting their coffee fix. Noticing people struggling to find which blend of ingredients sounds most appetizing to them. Listening to the soft alternative background music giving a soothing vibe to the coffee shop. I’m taking in the soulful artwork on the walls, the muted tones of the walls, the sounds of papers turning and shoes clacking on the tile ground, the rings of cell phones, the smell of freshly ground coffee beans, the red velvet chairs and the brown leather couches that have so many wrinkles from the countless bodies that have sat upon them as well. The calming lighting that doesn’t blind you when you walk in. Sitting here, I notice many people
