I'm here talking about how cell phones can give girls cancer and how guys can hurt their sperm count by using cell phones But first, I talk about that cell phones work by sending signals and receiving them from nearby cell towers using Radio Frequency waves this is a form of electromagnetic energy that falls between FM radio waves and microwaves. At very high levels, Radio Frequency waves can heat up body tissue. That's how a microwave oven works. The levels of energy given off by cell phones are much lower, and are not enough to raise temperatures in the body different cell phones have different SAR levels. The SAR levels are different depending on the apple Apple iPhone 6 plus give off 1.16 SAR levels and apple 4s gives 1.19 SAR but the …show more content…
strongest one that gives a higher SAR level is samsung phones that give off 1.25. Cell phone makers are required to report the maximum SAR level of their product to U S Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The information can be found often in the manufacturer’s website or in the user manual for the phone. The upper limit of SAR allowed in the United States is 1.6 watts per kilogram. The upper limit of SAR allowed in the United States is 1.6 watts per kilogram (W/kg) of body weight. Some other way that girls are getting breast cancer is that they are tucking the cell phones in their bra. It easy to take out of when someone is calling you and became a cool, hip way to have simple access to these essential devices and that one way they can get breast cancer it's like a small microwave radios and it should not be kept directly on the body if people don't listen to news and articles see what happening why is that they still put their phones in their bra because it's in style so people want to fit in with other people. When girls don't have pockets in their pants they put it in there bra or when they are wearing dresses they also put in there bra. One way that men can get cancer from cell phones is by putting their phones in their pocket right after calling someone. So after leukemia said that brain tumors are the most common cancer type in young people under 25 years of age so it has a chance to increase brain tumors to who are not older than 25 years of age. In May 2015 independent scientist written more than 2,000 papers on a topic called the World Health Organization, and national governments to develop stricter controls on cell-phone radiation.
The city of Berkeley passed a law that goes into the effect of cell phones. (Hill) So people are talking about how the RF waves have like a little microwave in the cell phones so they give off a little bit of radiation in the cell phones because the more you use the cell phone the more radiation you can have and when it happens to little kids because their tissue in their brain are very thin in which they can get brain tumors when using a cell phones. (Hill) He found that about 50 percent of the 326 studies showed a biological effect when the radio-frequency radiation but people found the the wireless industry he found the split was 70 - 30. (Hill) Lab studies usually expose animals to something like RF energy to see if it causes tumors or other health problems. (American Cancer Society) Researchers might also expose normal cells in a lab dish to RF energy to see if it causes the types of changes that are seen in cancer cells. (American Cancer Society) A large study now being done by the US National Toxicology Program should help address some of the questions about whether exposure to RF energy could lead to health issues. Researchers will expose large groups of lab mice and rats to RF energy for several hours a day for up to 2 years and follow (observe) the animals from birth to old …show more content…
age. (American Cancer Society) a recent small study in people has shown that cell phones may have some effects on the brain, although it’s not clear if they’re harmful. The study found that brain tissues on the same side of the head as the phone used more glucose than did tissues on the other side of the brain. (American Cancer Society) Glucose is a sugar that normally serves as the brain’s fuel. (American Cancer Society) Glucose use goes up in certain parts of the brain when it is in use, such as when we are thinking, speaking, or moving. Cell phones University of southern California’s same said even though non-ionizing radiation but it may seem to not affect the in a way that ionizing radiation”. (Oster) Cell phones can give you brain tumors but being exposed to the radiation. Mobile phones users were 30 percent more likely to develop gliomas and people that have been using a cell phone for 25 years or more were 200 percent most likely to get a brain tumor. (Oster) It's a good thing to be living next to a cell phone tower because that give less energy for your phone and you have a less chance to get a brain tumor while living far away has to use more energy and has a chance to get a brain tumor. (Storrs) In 2011, the World Health Organization classified the kind of low-energy radiation that cell phones emit as "possibly carcinogenic" because cell phone use a type of malignant brain tumor called glioma and a benign brain tumor called acoustic neuroma. (Storrs) Both types of brain tumors are rare. About 5 in 10,000 adults are diagnosed with glioma in the United States every year.” (Storrs) A panel of 31 expert scientists from 14 different countries concluded radiofrequency radiation, which is emitted by cell phones and other wireless communication devices should be placed in Group 2B alongside a fairly long list of other substances that includes lead, coffee, nickel, and gasoline. (Oster) The best solution to not get brain cancer is by using your cell phones for a short time when calling and it's also good if you text most of the day because you can't get radiation when texting to people. (Storrs) The best solution is by using your headphones because you can't get radiation from using your headphones and it have a less chance of getting you cancer from your phone because it's not close to your ears and cheeks when using your headphones. (Storrs) so the possible solution would be by not always being on your phone so that you don't have the risk of getting cancer from your mobile device. (Schipper) and doctors said RF waves from cell phones have also been shown to produce “stress” proteins in human cells, according to research from Martin Blank, Ph.D., a special lecturer in the department of physiology and cellular biophysics at Columbia University and another signer of the recent letter to the U.N. and The U.S. National Toxicology Program is now running an animal study of its own, exposing rats and mice to low-dose radiation. (Hill) In addition, the findings might be influenced by the fact that the study subjects owned cell phones that were in some cases manufactured two decades ago. Some people are asking that if cell phones that have a better design today are safer today. (Hill) Cell-phone designs have changed a lot since the studies described above were completed. (Hill) These studies did not find evidence of tumor promotion. (American Cancer Society) One large study now being done by the US National Toxicology Program should help address some of the questions about whether exposure to RF energy could lead to health issues. (American Cancer Society) Researchers will expose large groups of lab mice and rats to RF energy for several hours a day for up to 2 years and follow (observe) the animals from birth to old age. (American Cancer Society) Study in people has shown that cell phones may have some effects on the brain, although it’s not clear if they’re harmful. (American Cancer Society) The study found that when people had an active cell phone held up to their ear for 50 minutes, brain tissues on the same side of the head as the phone used more glucose than did tissues on the other side of the brain. (American Cancer Society) Glucose is a sugar that normally serves as the brain’s fuel. (American Cancer Society) Last, cancer can develop slowly over decades, yet the studies have analyzed data over only about a five- to 20-year span. (Schipper) Perhaps our best protection is that more people today use phones to text instead of talk, and headphones and earbuds are growing in popularity. (Schipper) On the other hand, it’s also true that we use cell phones much more than we used to, so our overall exposure may be greater. (Schipper) So people are still wondering that if we should still be using our cell phones because of the radiation of the phones but some consumer reports does not think that’s necessary because just using our phones just for a little bit doesn't mean that we will automatically get brain cancer or a brain tumor. (Schipper) But just try to keep the phone away from your head and body. (Storrs) Back in 2006, Henry Lai, a professor at the University of Washington analyzed all available studies on cell phone radiation from 1990 to 2006. (Storrs) He found that 50 percent of the 326 studies showed a biological effect from radio-frequency radiation The Monographs are the most authoritative program in cancer-hazard identification, running for the longest time, looking at all types of environmental exposure, but also known for being the strongest program in terms of a very strict policy to exclude conflicts of interest. (Storrs) Some scientists have reported that the RF waves from cell phones produce effects in human cells (in lab dishes) that might possibly help tumors grow. (Hill In 2011, the World Health Organization classified the kind of low-energy radiation that cell phones emit as "possibly carcinogenic" because of a link between cellphone use and a type of malignant brain tumor called glioma and a benign brain tumor called acoustic neuroma. (Storrs) Both types of brain tumors are rare but about 5 in 10,000 adults are diagnosed with glioma in the United States every year, whereas about 10 in a million people develop acoustic neuromas every year. (Storrs) Although the way they it puts cell phones on the same level of cancer risk as caffeine and pickled vegetables.
Since 2011 evidence has been brought from Jonathan M. samet, the chairman of preventive medicine at the University of the Southern California who found the panel that determined the classification many studies have failed to detect an association between cell phones and brain tumors. (Storrs) One study of 360,000 adults in Denmark have not yet been found for those with brain tumor and people who have been using a cell phones for 13 years have not have not been caught with a brain tumor. (Storrs) Some professors say that 1,640 hours some people in their lifetime without a head set have a better chance to not get brain tumor. However authors of the Interphone study stated that people with brain tumors might be more likely than healthy people to exaggerate their cell phone use, and thus the link between heavy phone use and brain tumor risk in the study might not be real. (Storrs) The Interphone study is the largest study to date looking at cell phones and brain tumors. It involves 13 countries, including Canada, the United Kingdom, Denmark and Japan. (Hill) Researchers asked more than 7,000 people who had been diagnosed with a brain tumor and 14,000 healthy people about their previous cell phone use. (Schipper) So what have researchers learned about cell phones. In one study they followed more than 420,000 cellphone users over a 20-year period, researchers found no
evidence of a link between cellphones and brain tumors. (Schipper) Another study found an association between cellphones only a small number of study participants had malignant tumors. Another study suggested a possible increased risk of glioma is a specific type of brain tumor which causes the heaviest cellphone users, but it does not increase in brain tumor risk overall when using a cell phones. (Schipper) To begin with children have a higher risk of getting cancer because of their nervous system is still being developed and more vulnerable of getting cancer The study included children who were diagnosed with brain tumors between 2004 and 2008, when their ages ranged from 7 to 19. So the children that have been tested was an association between cell phone use and brain tumor risk in this group of children and noted that their results did not rule out the possibility of a slight increase in brain cancer risk among children who use cell phones, and that data gathered through prospective studies. (Hill) So there is many thing that people don't understand from cell phones uses but like their is many way that people can't get brain tumor or cancer from cell phones radiation is like using headphones or using the speaker phones or just by texting your friends and people can start telling everyone about the radiation in cell phones and stop people from getting brain tumor and cancer and we must stop parents from giving kids cell phones because they have a higher risk of getting brain tumor and cancer from adults and teenager because they their skull are thick from children because the children have a thicker skull so the brain is more exposed to the cell phone's radiation. (Hill)
In a world that is rapidly becoming faster paced, finding various means to keep up with the changing environment is a must. Cell phones are one of the most practical inventions of time that make this possible. However, the subtle effect they have on our culture today, their invasion of our privacy, and the possible health risks they may cause are reasons to reassess the value of this intriguing device. While cell phones may be valuable, they are also potentially harmful.
Specific Purpose: To enlighten my audience about the great impression of social media on civilization.
Today is the day! The vacation that has been plastered on the calendar, programmed to remind you every day on your phone, and put on a countdown app is now finally here. After a week of preparation, you are all ready to head to the airport. Upon arriving into the airport, you notice the ticket counter is eerily empty. It is your turn to check in and the customer service agent asks where you are going to which you respond Ft. Lauderdale. The agent informs you that the flight to Ft. Lauderdale have been canceled from your airport; and the next available direct flight is not until the middle of next week. That definitely does not work for you so you ask is there another way to get there, maybe thru a connection? The only way to get there today is by flying all the way up to Boston which is two hours in the wrong direction just to fly past where you started to get to your destination. So, this now 4-hour trip has turned into an all-day affair. Not wanting to waste any more time you take the Boston option vowing never to fly JetBlue again.
It is undeniable that cellular technology has become main stream. “It was estimated that there were 92 million cell phone users in the US, a number growing by one million every month.” (Frumkin, Jacobson, Gansler & Thun 2001). The arrival and widespread use of cell phones has peaked interest of the health effects of radiofrequencies in the human body.

Brain tumors and eye cancer are two health concerns of cell phones that are currently under investigation. Many people have heard rumors about whether or not cell phones are responsible for these health problems, but answers never seem to be found.

Attention Getter: Do you know how many social media accounts the average person has? Do you know how many hours are spent using these sites? The average person spends about 1 hour and 45 minutes switching between their accounts.
We as individuals do NOT understand the problems with overpopulation. We do not take the time or the effort to be educated enough; therefore we do not help in the prevention of future problems to keep our society as it is now.
Research also points to an increased risk of multiple types of cancer (Hardell 40). Epidemiologic evidence in the last few years claims that mobile phone usage and risks of brain tumors and other types, such as salivary gland tumors in the adult head have grown tremendously
To conclude i would like to say that regulatory agencies have concluded cell phones are safe, cell phone radiation is non-ionizing and studies indicate that there are long term risks but we need more data on intense sustained usage, and cell phones can be used more safely by only using them when signal strength is strong and the transmitter doesn’t have to transmit as much energy.
First of all, using mobile phone has the negative effect of affecting the health. The scientific data are exploring the relationship between radiation from mobile phones and brain disease. "Research carried out by scientists in Finland suggests radiation from mobile phones causes changes in the brain. It is the first time that scientists have looked at the effects of mobile phone radiation on human cells rather than those of rats"(BBC NEWS, 19 Jun 02 | Health, "Fresh fears over mobile phones"). From above we must understand that research did find a higher incidence of brain tumors on the same side as phone usage.
Cell phones are one of the greatest inventions in the world. We can imagine how life would be without cell phones. Cell phones are very handy; it can make our communication easier. Also cell phones can provide us with everything, like relaxing with music, browsing the internet, chatting on social networking sites or playing games. Unfortunately cell phones are not risk free. Using cell phones involve emission of EMR electromagnetic radiation, which is a dangerous sort of energy wave, is produce by modern appliances that surround us in everyday lives. The worst causes of EMR are cell phones. These days especially children are getting addicted to cell phones. When you are talking on your phone, there are microwaves going through your head. There has been a study on the development of brain tumors and the amount of time you take on the phone due to radio waves. However, people do not realize the consequences and negative effects cell phones cause. It causes diseases and disorders and other harmful damages to our body and health. Nevertheless, cell phones are also not dangerous.
A cellular tower is basically a low power, multi-channel two-way radio, which communicates with individual phones. According to the U.S Food and Drug Administration, the FCC (Federal Communication Commission) and the zoning board which consists of the members of the cell phone companies maintain that the cell towers do not pose any kind of health hazards to public. As per the report of The American Cancer society and the WHO(World Health Organization) they did not find any evidence of adverse health effects of RF signals. There is always a specific threshold level of radiation to cause mayhem to public health. And as per standards set by the governing bodies the energy level emitted by cell phone towers are lower than what we are actually exposed to in our homes since appliances such as microwave ovens emits much higher radiation. Moreover the energy radiating from cell tower is much less as compared to other types of radiation UV rays , X rays which can cause cancer. The Cell Tower and cell phones connecting to it, emit radio-frequency energy, which is similar to radio and television. There are two types of antennae one is that which broadcasts wave horizontally, the other Vertically. The radiation from cellular phone tower travels parallel to the ground ie directly towards the horizon and moreover the radiation power level decreases as one move away from the tower and thus the level of exposure is minimum at the ground level. Added advantage of cell phone tower is increase in data rate and cellular network coverage, increase in capacity, reduction in call congestion, reduction in call drop. Also it will provide and create jobs for people in the coverage area. Also if the people oppose the cellular tower due to ob...
