In a survey of 100 students, 60% of them agreed cell phones cause distraction in a classroom environment. This shows that most of the students have experienced classroom distraction caused by cell phones. Cell phones should be prohibited at school campus because they are disruptive in a classroom environment and causes students to avoid their school work.
Cell phones could cause a huge distraction in a classroom environment. For example, the cell phone’s electronic sounds and the text messaging that disrupt the classroom. When a cell phone goes off, students around the area are constantly searching for where the sound is. This human instinct distracts them from the important subject at hand. In addition to the electronic sounds, text messages are also disruptive. In a classroom, a text message could easily be a ticking bomb. One example is social media on cell phones. Social media on cell phones can cause students to avoid their school work in many ways. For example, a student checks his/hers social status on his/hers phone in class. This pulls the student away from his/hers work. During that time period of checking, the student might have missed homework assignment given by the teacher. This shows that the student could have avoided their school work. Since the kids are distracted by their cell phones, they avoid their school work.
In conclusion, test messaging software, social media, addictive apps and games causes students to be avoiding their school work and distracted. Cell phones should be prohibited at school campus because they are disruptive in a classroom environment, causes students to be distracted, and to avoid their school work. Maybe someday when cell phones are not used, students will be able to pay attention in school better and have good
