After reading this title, I imagine how many people in our generation do not fall under in this category. In today’s world it is hard to go anywhere without seeing someone talking on a cell phone. Even if it’s walking, driving, or playing is the streets, you will be able to see them everywhere. Whether or not someone answering their cell phone is increasing the likelihood of fatal brain cancer, is in question. Apparently in recent years there has been much research completed looking for a solid answer to the question.
Essentially, people are worried about their brains being microwave, breaking bonds and causing genetic damage and consequently a cancerous tumor to evolve. For example, the New York Times magazine article which expressed a young man from Florida, David Reynard, situation of the same subject matter. He bought the question of whether cell phone can cause connections with the brain tumor that killed his wife. Although, the results of these studies are conflicting, puzzling and don’t offer anything conclusive, a summary of previous studies investigating cell phone usage has been in research.
In addition, the primary reason of uncertainly is due to reliance on recall, the study subject’s memory of how much they used their cell phone. The recall itself was studies that concluded to be considered unreliable. In fact, there were two conclusive results; first one was that brain cancer is rare and secondly, the control group for a study investigating cell phone use would be exceedingly difficult. Mr. Reynard then introduces how cell phone radiation differs from one to another causing DNA mutation; which can lead into cancer and other health issues. Even though there are many controversies about cell phones I feel that if ...

...experiment, rats were treated with a chemical carcinogen in utero (to “prime” them to develop brain tumors) and then exposed to radiant energy comparable to cell phone radiation for two hours per day, four days a week, for 22 months. The experiment revealed no increased incidence of brain tumors in rats. Nor was there any accelerated growth in previously established brain tumors. From 1997 to 2004, six independent experiments on mice and rats studied the effects of chronic radiation on brain cancer. No experiment revealed an increased risk of brain cancer.
But radiant energy need not penetrate the brain and mutate genes to have a biological effect on it. A cellphone user might experience changes in physiology that have nothing to do with the ionizing capacity of radiation. Might a cellphone leave a physiological mark on the brain through a yet unknown mechanism?
Smartphones have become an extension of one’s self, capturing memories, storing information, communicating an individual’s thoughts and feelings, setting reminders etc. It has become a necessity that many people feel they cannot live without. However, their usefulness comes with a price. A price Carr states and backs up with multiple studies researching the effect smartphones have on the brain and human interactions.
Cell phones also pose troubling health issues. In addition, many local cities and states have prohibited the use of cell phones while driving, yet many more are considering the ban of cell phones while driving. Some in the industry say cell phones are no more dangerous than car radios, and the productivity and usefulness in emergencies outweigh the safety cost. Not to mention, there are concerns that prolonged cell phone use may cause cancer or other health related problems. Sarah Glazer is an American journalist based in London. She is a Contributing Writer for the Washington, D.C.-based

There was an article in The Washington Times about a Florida woman who developed a brain tumor behind the ear where she had customarily placed her cell phone, her husband blamed radiation from the phone and sued its manufacturer. After his 1993 appearance on CNN's "Larry King Show," other similar lawsuits followed. None succeeded however, and within several months, the controversy was forgotten.”
When you think of Brain cancer what do you think of? I think of it as millions of people being killed by it each year. It hard to think of someone that you love could die of something as that but it happens. Brain cancer is a malignant tumor that causes people to die. Some can be removed, and some can not. So over the past decades they have been trying to treat people. It has been working but not all the way. People get the cancer back and sometimes it cant be controlled and people die. Brain cancer is really deadly and kills millions each year.
It is undeniable that cellular technology has become main stream. “It was estimated that there were 92 million cell phone users in the US, a number growing by one million every month.” (Frumkin, Jacobson, Gansler & Thun 2001). The arrival and widespread use of cell phones has peaked interest of the health effects of radiofrequencies in the human body.

Today’s society accepted phones so fast and easily, that most of the things that can harm us, are actually some of our social norms that we don’t even realize we are doing. Cell phones can have effects on the way people think and act, their interactions with people in society, and the amount information people retain from the direct result of multi-tasking. Cell phones are a very important asset to people, and good resources of information, but they can have negative effects on people such as depression, anxiety, and addiction to the use of the cell phone. Distractions from cell phone use have also been linked to many motor vehicle accidents as well. Cell phones were created to make our lives better, and more efficient, but do they harm us more than help
Hands free technology is advancing and becoming more dangerous. Using hands free technology increases the chance of a crash (Rosenberg). This shows that using hands free technology can be dangerous. “Cell-phone induced impairment has even been compared to drunk driving” (Rosenberg). Ironically, talking on a cell phone could potentially be more dangerous than drunk driving. The brain does not possess the resources necessary to safely perform

Not only does it put the driver of the car in danger, but it also puts the passengers and the surrounding cars at risk. Using a cell phone while driving has been proven to be just as dangerous as driving under the influence. At any given moment during the day, around 800,000 people are driving cars while using a hand-held device, which unfortunately puts everyone else at risk of a car crash. In the recent year, 21% of fatal car crashes involved the use of a cellular device (Prof. David J. Hanson, 1997-2015). Unfortunately, humans, especially teenagers, cannot put down their cell phones while they drive due to the many notifications they receive. They are addicted. This points back to how the cell phones are affecting the mental health of humans. In 2007, Bailey Goodman, a seventeen-year-old, was killed along with four of her friends in a car accident. Goodman
The rise of smartphones approached my generation with the release of the iPhone in 2007 (cite). There have been many challenges that technology has brought, but the prominent discussion now is: Are smartphones negatively effecting the youth of society? Carlin Flora's article "Are Smartphones Really Destroying the Adolescent Brain?" published in Scientific American discusses the complex relationship between teenagers and their smartphones that she believes is largely misunderstood.
Cell phones represent a type of technology that has been around for more than over fifty years; it has only been recently that many people began to use cell phones as a major part of their everyday life. In the past cell phones were for business people to conduct their business, but in today’s society every one owns a cell phone. Cell phones are interesting, useful and also play a major role in our life’s bringing people closer and keeping in touch with one another. Most people do not know and understand the physics of a cell phone. Cell phones are also known as cellular phone, hand phone, and commonly known as a mobile phone. A cell phone is an electric device that can make and receive calls, over and automatic repeat request (radio link petrol -RLP) used over wireless air interdace.it us a portable telephone that uses and receive phone signals.it also divides that earth into small regional called cells.in the resent estimates there are over 190 million people using mobile phone. One of the primary health concerns is the impact of cell phone radiation, by radio waves by which it operates.
Not only that but when people are on their cell phones it causes us to keep ourselves from falling asleep. My therapist, Stacey Welch, understands the mental health effects that occur because of people overusing their mobile devices. Welch says that “so much is texting and because of this we lose out on a huge percentage of language (non-verbal), the face to face interaction. People in today’s society do not care as much about things as past generations did. Technology has certainly changed society for the worse. Psychological effects are also a main part of the health risks that occur because of exposure to technology. Some people will disagree that cell phones, or any other technology, affect you physically or psychologically, because the evidence that there is, is not that concrete. People do not agree with recent studies that cell phones exhibit problems.”Concerns about radiation from cell phones causing a variety of health problems are greatly overexaggereated” (Mooney 33). It is hard to prove to people that cell phone’s emit radiation because the experiments done are not as

It is the time to think about these negative effects. I think the suggestions for reducing the negative effects of mobile phone usage can be as reducing the length of incoming calls, using a "speakerphone" option, selecting a phone with an extendable antenna, regulate mobile free zones in a variety of public spaces, and turn off the mobile phone in specific time.
