Many people have certain memories they just cannot forget. Whether it be life changing or the day you discovered your favorite book. For me, I will always recall the two short days I became best friends with people who were merely acquaintances before. From the moment I sat down on that bus to head off to Cedar Point with my choir, to the second I got off the bus.
The night before the most memorable adventure I’d have, I stayed the night at my friend’s house. We woke up with just hours of sleep due to the anticipation for our long awaited field trip. It was early in the morning and we got ourselves ready and in the car, grabbing our luggage along the way. I clearly remember stepping out of the car and walking into the choir room to meet the

exact people I’d soon be very close with. Boarding the bus and getting to our hotel seemed to last forever, but I was very much okay with that because along the way, we all sang songs and talked and laughed. Not long after entering our temporary home, we changed into our matching shirts and headed toward our performance. On the short bus ride there, my choir class had what I like to call a “Pitch Perfect” moment. After entering the building we warmed up our voices and were soon off to be judged. Later that day the class went to a restaurant to have our dinner. Once everyone was back on the bus, we were off to our hotel once more, to have a little down time before retiring for the night. Our next day was much more eventful.
I got up at five thirty in the morning to change and make myself look presentable for the day ahead. My roommates and I packed up our bags, careful not to leave anything behind. Getting on the bus was now becoming very tedious to me, but again I entered the vehicle. Today, we were heading to Cedar Point. We arrived and filed out of the bus and got into our little groups. This day, was the day I’d get over my fear of roller coasters. Going to ride after ride and then halfway through, going to see our rankings for our small recital. Our class scored first place for overall best Junior High Choir, mainly because we were the only Junior High Choir performing the day before. After awards all choirs dispersed to go back to their fun day at Cedar Point. We got back into our groups, some members leaving to join another group while others joined mine. At this point, my small group had doubled, so half went on some rides while the rest did something else. My half of the group consisted of Izzy, Iven, Heidi, Jamie, Marissa, and myself. We all waited in line for the enormous ferris wheel. It was a hot day and we stood in line for what seemed like hours. Finally we were next in line, then all of the sudden, we got told there was a thunderstorm coming our way and that all rides were closing down. The choir class was ushered into the indoor arcade where my small group stuck together the whole time. We played games and eat Dip N’ Dots until the rain
died down to nothing. The choir teacher instructed that we had an hour to eat and then it was back to the busses for the final time that trip. Yet again, my small half of the group stuck together except Jamie, she rode a different bus. The four of us headed towards the back while Izzy stayed up front. I sat by the window, Marissa next to me, Iven behind me, and Heidi next to Iven. At this point in the day, everyone was exhausted. Not even ten minutes into the ride, Iven and I had reached a point where we were far beyond exhausted and weren’t even tired anymore. We had slipped into this bizarre state where everything was funny. Iven and I became loud and rambunctious, joking around and laughing. Heidi decided to move to get sleep while Marissa joined in. This wasn’t liked toward the front of the bus because we kept them up, it was all an accident, I never meant to be that loud. In all honesty, I don't regret it though, it was the best part of the whole trip. Halfway home, we stopped at a McDonald's and got a “midnight snack.” Inside the McDonald’s Iven and I had apologized for being so loud. Marissa had bought me an Oreo frappe for the rest ride home. Five minutes after we left the restaurant Iven had spilled his Oreo frappe all over the girl next to him, I was not far behind, because I spilt mine all over myself not long after. Somehow I managed to get some sleep before we arrived back at our starting point; the school’s parking lot. Throughout the whole experience, I become closer to my friends, who are now who I consider some of my best friends. Sitting at the back of the bus at ten something at night laughing and talking with them. Then when we stopped at McDonalds to pick up a late night snack, those are things I’ll never forget. That trip to Cedar Point may just be my best mini vacation, I have been on yet.
Before long I spotted my friends a few feet away and I walked in their direction. I found my 3 friends roaring with laughter, and I couldn’t help but laugh as well. A few hours later we were all piled in the car and Ashley’s parents drove home. We sat in a comfortable silence because everyone was exhausted from all the fun that we had. I smiled to myself in the dark, as I thought about what an amazing story my trip to six flags would make in the
The night was young times were crazy and it was only the beginning of my senior year. It was still warm out and it still felt like summer; we didn’t know that we could have this much fun in one night, but we knew we were going to have fun no matter what. My first concert had to be one of the best nights of my life and one of my most favorite nights of my life during my senior year. It all began when my buddy Alex Kramper decided to give me a phone call and wanted to know if I wanted to go to an Imagine Dragons concert at the Verizon Wireless Amplifier Theater for only twenty bucks, I responded with a hell yeah, the concert was only in a weak. So we figure everything out and and figure that Alex Kramper, Tori Main, Trevor Waller, Kristen Kesler, and me are going to the concert, the next day we meet at Alex’s house to all ride in the concert together in Trevor’s truck, it was a planned booze cruise threw St.Louis. So I woke up early in the morning for the Saturday concert and do my chores early in the morning so I wouldn’t have to do them the next day all hungover. I finally finish all...
It was the day of April 13, 2000. I woke up at exactly 12 o’clock because my boyfriend was to pick me up at 1 like we planned the night before. The day looked quite nice, but I was in a fowl mood. I got into a car accident the night before and had a huge argument with my parents about the car. I finally dragged myself into the shower and got ready in half an hour. Then I went downstairs, sat on my couch, and repeatedly told myself the day would hopefully turn out better than last night. At around 1:15, my boyfriend came to pick me up. We took the 5 freeway to the 57 since it was the only way I knew how to get there. As we approached the 134 freeway, my girlfriend veered to the right, taking the 210 which was wrong way and got us lost. So, we exited the freeway and got back on the right track. Then finally, before long, we reached Norton Simon.
I woke up early in the morning with pure excitement. Today, I was heading to Cedar Point with my long time close friend, Sarah. The sun was shining, it was the perfect mood to go to an amusement park. My mom and I drove through the flat cornfields of Ohio, to her farmhouse. Once I picked up Sarah, we were headed to America’s Rockin’ Roller-Coast also known as Cedar Point. Cedar Point is on a peninsula surrounded by the fresh waters of Lake Erie located . It's actually quite nice, if you don't include the often high winds which often force the employees to close the rides due to the high risk of liability and the frequent nats. The Dragster is sitting smack dab in the middle of the park's midway. The height makes the dragster something that you can’t miss, especially on the causeway.
I woke up Tuesday morning excited for the day I was going to spend with my mom. I was sitting at the kitchen table drinking fresh coffee listening to my mom and aunt tease and joke around about how paranoid my mom was about doing well in her classes, my aunt was telling her that maybe now that I was there, she would relax a little bit and have some fun. Our plan was to go to one of mom's classes with her, and then on a tour of UNC and then we were going to go to dinner and a movie.
These memories will stay with me and bring joy to me for the rest of my life.
Sunday morning I remember being in a rush to clean my room and rush over to breakfast. There was a lot of bustle in the dorm and we were all making last minute preparations to make sure that we were ready. Before mission trip had even really begun we were faced with a 2 hour delay but eventually we were on the road and mission trip had officially begun. We would be driving from northern California all the way to northern Arizona. The first day we just drove for approximately 8 hours until we got to the hotel where we would stop for the night. Then the next morning, after breakfast, we were back on the road and that evening we arrived at Holbrook Indian School at around 6:15. We had worship with them that night and then we all proceeded to go to bed.
On that fateful day in March, I was a couple months shy of my third birthday. My family and I lived in New Mexico at the time and were renting a house with an outdoor in-ground pool. The day was beautiful. I was outside with my oldest sister Rachel and my father. Rachel was diligently reading curled up on a bench that sat against the house, and my father was mowing the backyard. My mother and my other sister were in the house. Off to one side of the house there was a group of large bushes. I was playing over there with one of her large cooking pots, off in my own little world. At one point while amusing and en...
I remember it as clear as day. It had been a fairly normal week, and a routine average day. It was a Friday and I was driving home from school in my trusty Toyota Tercel. I was getting into the dreaded mental set of the game that I would be playing in that night. I had to play in the band at halftime and it was the first performance of the season. The whole ride to my house I thought about the game and hoped and prayed that we wouldn't make huge fools of ourselves. Before I knew it, I was already home. I remember thinking that it felt like the shortest drive ever, getting to beautiful Rolling Oaks. When I got home, little did I know, that there would be a huge surprise waiting for me that would change my life forever.
The day started off pretty normal, well, besides the fact that we had all stayed in a house with nothing but an old Nintendo system and a couple of lawn chairs. We went to breakfast at Denny's, after which we made our way to Denver, the site of the day's big event. On our way to my cousin's apartment, we drove by the multi million-dollar complex. It had a huge billboard that said "Summer Sanitarium." To my surprise, I kind of got a nervous feeling. Why? I do not know. We proceeded to my cousin's apartment where the entire group conglomerated in preparation of the concert. We had a large group of people that consisted of Carter, Josh, Seth, Sam and his two brothers, Tim, Kim, Eric, my brother me and. While waiting for the right time to arrive at the event, we had the radio turned to a station that was playing Metallica in honor of their presence in Denver.
It started off like any other day I woke up turned the T.V on watched SpongeBob while eating my breakfast, showered, then threw on my typical 5th grade outfit which always consisted of a sports tee and shorts. Then after getting dressed I boarded my bus and sat in the back of the bus like the cool kid I was. I participated in normal 5th grade chatter talking about sports, telling corny yo mama jokes like “Yo mama so fat she sat on skittles and turned into a rainbow”. After we arrived at my elementary school Switlik I walked to my classroom with my best friend Johnny as the grades below us watched us walk admiring our one strap backpack technique.
The day started of normal for me, but trust me when I say it didn’t end that way. First, I groggily woke up, took five to ten minutes to convince myself to get out of bed, and groaned as I began getting ready. In the background were the beautiful morning songs of my mother screaming at her sons to finish getting ready before they missed the bus, it was an everyday thing
When I got home I quickly got ready, I ironed my cap and gown, did my make-up and hair, and made my last phone call to Andrew. I called him right before I left and asked him if he was sure he did not want a ride. Again he responded politely and on my way I went. When I got to the high school everyone was taking pictures, laughing, and talking about how they were g...
It was just another day of my life. The fourth ring of my alarm woke me up. As usual, I was not feeling to go in school. I slept a couple of more minutes. After while, the shine of the sun coming from the window woke me up.I slowly stretched my arms and slid out of bed. I brushed my teeth and took the shower. Downstair,my mother was calling me for breakfast.I was still undecided what should wear for school. After browsing for while I found something to wear, and finished getting myself ready for school. When I checked the clock, I was running late as usual, which was not a surprised. I quickly ate my half sandwich and left the rest of the sandwich on the table.I took my car key, jump in my black Lexus and made my way to school.During my way to school, I got a call from my friend John. John is my best friend since when we were in middle school. He told me that his car was broke down and he needed to ride to school. Fortunately, my friend house on my school way. I told my friend. I am on my way to pick you up from your house. As I got there, john come out from his house and jumped in my car. With sound of Drake singing and music blasting, it was a
It was December 4, 2014 and it was snowing outside. I was sitting at the kitchen table doing homework. All my family was downstairs, so I was all alone. My English teacher told us to write a paper about how I am different from my classmates. I was thinking about what in my life makes me different and slowly my whole life was playing like a movie in my head. The first memory that popped into my head was my fourth birthday party. It was supposed to be the best birthday ever. My dad was going to come. It was February 24, 2002 at my birthday party. There were so many people there, but I was so focused on my dad coming, no one else seemed to matter. My cake was pink and yellow with a bicycle on it. I had a red and blue inflatable that kids were
