Why is Cato running straight past us? Oh, what is that chasing him? What are these strange creatures chasing Cato? Oh no, if they are chasing him that means they will chase me too. I need to run, but I won’t make it. I just won’t, my leg is too bad. But I have to try. I must try for Katniss. The girl I love and have for many years and I finally built up enough courage to tell her. Dammit, I can't lose her now! Not now. Not with everything we’ve been through. But the pain. If only I could stop the pain in my leg. I can't, so I must run as fast as my legs are willing. What is Katniss doing way ahead of me? Has she forgotten about me? Surely not. Thankfully she turned back to see where I was. Is that why she turned back? To look for me? Yes of course it is. I am still in her thoughts and she just needs to get away from these strange looking animals so she can then help me… That's exactly what she's doing. I need to tell her to keep going. I yell out to her, saying "go, Katniss! Go!” …show more content…
I am so exhausted but I hear Katniss scream out to me to climb. Don't look back, just keep moving forward, almost there. Come on legs, don't stop on me now. Wow, I’m on top of the cornucopia. I’m so puffed. I can hardly breathe. I just need to lay here and get my breath back. Who grabbed me? Oh no its Cato. He's gained his strength back. I can’t let him kill me. I need to help
It has been too long since I last wrote to you, so I thought I would inform you on momentous events that happened in my life in the last little while. The previous time I heard from you was when Gabriel turned three. I can’t believe he is about to become a teenager now. My goodness, time flies by so fast. I was so ecstatic when I saw your prior letter arrive in my mail.
I also don't own the idea, it was requested to me by the wonderful Amanda. Thank you so much! I hope I did this idea justice.
She keeps arguing with Peeta whether or not she is going to go or not. Katniss wants to go and Peeta is saying she is going to stay behind. Peeta says “No, you’re not risking your life for me.”(274). Then Katniss lies and says she’s not going but really she just gives him spoonfuls of a syrup which actually makes him sleep so Katniss can sneak out and grab the medicine. Once she grabs the medicine Clove is saying that Cato, is out there hunting for Peeta. Clove said “I don't think you'll have much use for your lips anymore, want to blow Lover Boy one last kiss?”(286). When she gets back to Peeta she gives him the medicine and when they wake up it is much better than what it was before. “Much better, whatever you shot into my arm did the trick.”(291). Said Peeta. Katniss showed great bravery and courage when she ran out into the middle trying to grab that pack filled with supplies including the medicine.
Everything was going great at Oakville farm, I mean everything was normal and okay how it should be if you don’t count that the fact Donna came home late last night. She came home around two or three o’clock in the morning when it was pitch black outside, and believe me this isn’t the first time it ever happened either, maybe it’s not that big of a deal to you but to me it is, Donna here is the farmer’s daughter. While Mr. Salem is away she’s the one in charge of us,and because she’s the one in charge of us we haven't eaten in two days! Mr. Salem always made sure we were cared for, and was handled with love but , Donna on the other hand she just doesn’t care. There’s a lot of us here on the farm, we have a variety of animals here like horses,
Katniss who possesses the ability to hunt with great ease and knowledge, is called to save her sister Prim 's life, when she is announced as a tribute to participate in the Hunger Games. Katniss does something completely unheard of for her district and volunteers herself to go to the games in place of her sister.
Sitting there, about to row towards the professors, a bead of sweat dripped into the wound. Not only did I realize that this tiny cut would be a bother until it scabbed, but the pain of a half a day’s rowing suddenly caught up. Then I realized that the “adventure” of walking through the tree island had felt more like a difficult mission than the fun time I had expected. This got me really upset.
Katniss seems to change a lot in all three books, there are many sides to Katniss some being agitated, angry, and gentle. Katniss has dark brown hair and Brown eyes. Throughout the book Katniss is almost always on a script when speaking aloud, she is creating videos or “propos” to bring down the capitol. She is mainly trying to get all the districts on her side when they battle the capitol. She uses President Snow’s words to bring him down, like when she tells all of the districts and possibly the capitol that President Snow told her that the capitol is very fragile (meaning that the districts provide the capitol with food, water, building materials, and Peacekeepers) without the districts the Capitol will either learn to farm and mine or they will die off completely. Katniss interacts with many of the characters as well as the third party (Random people throughout book that are given no descriptions and show up only once or twice). When she takes her trip to district 8 to meet all of the wounded from the bombing, she was told to literally see everybody in the hospital and “chat” with them.
Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, survival is her instinct, she relies on the outside of District12 to support her family. “I only have to pass a few gates to reach th...
Katniss does many things others will not do in her situation. Whether it is helping her family or helping others. Katniss’ father died in a mining accident when she was eleven (5). Katniss’s mother did not handle it well. She stopped caring for her family. She became a zombie. Katniss had to start caring for her family (26, 27). One day Katniss figured it all out. Katniss thought, “The first dandelion of the year. A bell went off in my head. I thought of the hours spent in the woods with my father and I knew how we were going to survive” (32). This is when Katniss realizes her family would no longer starve. Katniss knew hunting in district 12 is illegal and the penalty could be death (5). Katniss risks her life. Katniss’s only concern is her family, no matter the danger.
Katniss Everdeen is one of the best heroes in modern mythology. “Katniss Everdeen. She is the hero we need.” (Kim, Daniel J). Katniss isn’t like other heroes in modern mythology. Heroes today are characterized by their aggression and dominance but not Katniss. Katniss is strong when she has to be, but deep inside she is truly scared. Joseph Cambell’s 17 stages monomyth is able to map out a hero’s journey and express the steps taken to become a hero. Katniss is a highly qualified hero and accomplishes several stages in becoming the true hero she is. She is loyal, but unsure of whether it is egocentric or selflessness. All heroes have self doubts during their journeys. Katniss is a hero because of her ability to love. She incorporates love while trying to fight for her life and the lives of others back home during her time in the arena. Suzanne Collins expresses that love is an important part of life: “Love *now*. While you can.”. The way Katniss is able to feel compassion and for her to have hope is what truly makes her a hero.

Katniss Everdeen. “Pim, let go”, I say harshly, because this is upsetting me and I don’t want to cry...”let go.” (paragraph 16) Katniss is upset that she has to leave her
“Why?” Eliza pleaded. “I still love you. You’re my big brother, you’re supposed to keep me safe. I don’t care if you’re-” The gun handle smashed into her face, impressing its cruel lines into her skin. Blood mixed with dirt as she crashed into the ground, her breath ripped forcefully from her lungs. Another wound to add to her long list of injuries. Ha, battle scars. Battle scars of a war she didn’t care about. How had this happened? How had she ended up in this mess in the first place? Not too long ago, she had been a farm girl in Virginia, running barefoot through the woods with the wind in her hair. Now her brother was about to kill her.
never thought that Ponyboy will think of me as his enemy and someone that he would despise the most.Being his brother I have always loved him, cared about him and helped him.Today when I have become a Vice President of a very reputable company and have achieved great respect among my family, friends and co workers,I still feel in my heart that I have failed somehow. This,I realized when I came to know that my brother Ponyboy has been feeling neglected, discontented and grabby for what I had.
effected. Katniss provides protection for her younger sister, Primrose Everdeen, and her mother, again carrying out the role of the father, or the alpha of the house. She satisfies this role to the degree of volunteering to compete in the annual hunger games in the place of her sister, who was initially chosen. Katniss felt it was her responsibility to protect her sister, as she was the main provider and protector of her family and the household. After volunteering to take Prim 's place, Katniss is taken away where she is isolated in a room and given only 3 minutes to speak with her family and close friend and huntind partner, Gale. When she is talking to her mother about caring for Primrose, she speaks with a firm voice, and very emphatically. The language and tone of her voice changes depending on the person who she is talking to. For example,
