Catch The Moon Analysis

Have you ever owned a car that it’s so old that you can’t find parts for it ? My topic is the story Catch the Moon by Judith Ortiz Cofer . Its when a bad kid find the right path to a better life . His dad is trying to teach him how to take care of the family junkyard . But the kid just see’s him making him to do chores.

Someday, son, all this will be yours”(pg.63) is something his father said.
It’s his father saying that his junkyard will be his one day . So he’ll have to learn how to take care of it and learn to do the chores. So one day he’ll be able to run the junkyard by himself so he can be independant just like his father was when his wife died . ”Next time you’ll probably decapitate”(pg.66) fair warned his father.
His

dad’s saying if he did it again he has a high chance of getting decapitated . His dad is teaching him how not to make stupid decisions. So that he’ll stay alive so he can pass the junkyard on to him and eventually his sons son. Also to teach his son the lesson so he can pass it on to his children.
”proud of what? I haven't done anything”(pg.68) said the kid .
He's saying that he doesn’t deserve recognition because he hasn’t done anything. He's trying to show responsibility. Which is one step closer to a better life . Also to smarter decisions. Also its showing people that he’s changing . And that he's trying to get on the right path

My topic is the story Catch the Moon by Judith Ortiz Cofer . In all reality it's when a bad kid find the right path to a better life .
Some people say this is a love story . And others think that it's a lesson maker story . Overall in my opinion i thought it was a great story . I thought it was the best story we have read so far .
