Cassie,
Do you honestly think I have no right to be angry or frustrated? For the past 3 frickin' years, I've stayed up all nights some nights thinking about you and us; and, working my ass off to show you that, though there's distance between us, that you can bet your life that my love is there and strong for you. I know what you feel when you say that you need someone and something to touch. I've finally gotten in touch with you in a way that I can hear your voice. Just as I was saying in my last email, there will be some fucking hard ass times, and then there will be worse ones. This is one of those times that is going to be hard, and I believe if there was any love there for me, you wouldn't just give up. I've always been skeptical about how you felt, that's just how I am, but then finally, in one email, after I called you for the first time you said, and I quote, "...before we had our talk, I mean.. yeah.. I liked you ALOT...". But then you went on to say that you finally knew in your heart that you truly loved me. I'm beginning to think you were just caught up in the moment. And to think, that was exactly a month ago. One frickin' month ago, you said you were sure, and now you aren't. I know for a fact that love is something you cannot all of a sudden gain, or lose. It will take time as in more than a couple weeks, but more like a couple months or years.
I want you to know that, yes, I'm mad. But I am also mad about you. I feel like crying just like I did the night before you left. I had a dream a couple days ago, that ended with a phrase from no particular person saying, "Soon, your love will go through trials and tribulations, and intelligence and patience will fade as your frustration takes over; but, do not falter. Persevere in your true ways, and light will shine again!" I memorized that as I wrote that down after I woke up. That scared the shit out of me, because I spent that whole day thinking it was, in fact talking about you. I see now, maybe it is.
“I’m famous for falling…” Jenni Rivera was a strong independent woman. Jenni Rivera had many struggles that helped her rise to the top and change the music industry.
The person that I chose for the Womens History Month report is Maria Mitchell, who was a self- taught astronomer. She discovered Comet Mitchell and made amazing achievements throughout her life. Maria Mitchell was born on August 1, 1818 on the Massachusetts island of Nantucket to William and Lydia Mitchell. When Maria Mitchell was growing up in the Quaker community, few girls were allowed to study astronomy and higher mathematics. Even though the Mitchell's weren't rich Maria's father, a devoted amateur( most astronomers of that time were amateurs) astronomer, introduced her to mathematics and the night sky. He also encouraged her toward teaching and passed on a sense of God as in the natural world. By the time Maria was sixteen, she was a teacher of mathematics at Cyrus Pierce's school for young ladies where she used to be a student. Following that she opened a grammar school of her own. And only a year after that, at the age of eighteen she was offered a job as a librarian at Nantucket's Atheneum during the day when it opened to the public in the fall of 1836. At the Atheneum she taught herself astronomy by reading books on mathematics and science. At night she regularly studied the sky through her father's telesscope. For her college education even Harvard couldn't have given her a better education than she received at home and at that time astronomy in America was very behind as of today. She kept studying at the Atheneum, discussed astronomy with scientists who visited Nantucket (including William C. Bond), and kept studying the sky through her father's lent telescope.
In “Theories of Time and Space,” Natasha Trethewey details the evolution of maturity in humans and how that process occurs using a journey to Gulfport, Mississippi. Trethewey begins her work by establishing a destination and starting point that are a metaphors for the progression of innocence to maturity, and she concludes by explaining the significance of that change. All of these components work together to develop an allegory about the human condition. An allegory, as defined in Rapaport’s “The Literary Toolkit,” is “the extension of an analogy into an isomorphic set of correspondences,” that transform the literal meaning (Rapaport, 110). Trethewey uses the literal meaning of a physical journey to Ship Island to create an allegory about

Selena Quintanilla, the madonna of Tejano music. Such an empowering person; she was beloved by many. Her tragic death caused an immense outrage and pained many. Yolanda Saldivar, her killer made a huge mistake that day. Nothing can justify her shooting Selena. Her actions were driven by hatred towards the Quintanilla family, greed, and caused an immense outbreak of mourning. Although some may say that her actions were justified because of her being fired, that is not a good enough reason to shoot someone. Here are my explanations as to why Yolanda saldivar did not have a valid reason to end Selena Quintanilla’s life.
In the 1960s, a wave of Cuban immigrants moved into the United States to escape their ruthless dictator, Fidel Castro. Aleida Rodriguez and her siblings were some of those immigrants. In her reflection, she looks at photographs of her childhood while she reflects upon the impact of emigration within her family during the sixties. In the excerpt from “my Mother in Two Photographs, Among Other Things,” author Aleida Rodriguez reveals the cultural rifts caused by relocation.
In Native Son by Richard Wright, Mr. Wright lived in the 1930s and experienced how African Americans were unfairly treated and the extreme poverty that still happens in South Side Chicago. The way Mr. Wright grew up into all the poverty, violence, and being discriminated against placed himself into Bigger Thomas shoes and how handled everything the way he was living with despair. That’s how Mr. Wright sets a psychoanalytic theory in his writing of how he portrays Bigger Thomas, he is self-conscious of his actions and how he wishes to hurt some but doesn’t believe he can bring himself to do that. Bigger Thomas despises the way he lives and how the white people have control over his life but sooner or later he does something that makes him feel superior and equal to a white person.
I met him at the Hawthorne high-school’s orientation. October 3, 2012, was the official date and months of being with him, for the first time ever he made me feel something I’ve never felt before. He was the first guy I ever came to love. I can go on about this, but I’m not going into detail about what happened those years. Let’s just wrap up that story to the simple truth, he left me. I had invested all my time and attention towards him, that I began to care less about school. I was never expecting it, or maybe I was. It hurt. Looking at him hurt. I remember coming home and crying my heart out. I was devastated. It was something I’ve never wanted to experience. I sobbed and sobbed that night, and gripped onto my pillow and shouted into them, hiding the cries. I felt empty when I awoke the next day. My eyes were swollen, and I felt an empty void. I felt dead. We didn’t speak to each other after that. Months passed, and I was keeping myself occupied with work and friends, I finally was learning how to move on, on my own. I finally came to find my happiness through realization. They say somethings happen for a reason. It’s either a
The setting of the scorch trials starts off with a group of boys in a dormitory. Each boy stayed in a room with 2 old bunk beds, a fan, and a 1 window covered in metal bars. They boys stayed in rooms of 4 boys. The boys are forced to leave the dormitory and end up in a dry, lifeless, desert like place called the flare. The flare is miles and miles of hot desert sand and random old abandoned buildings. They travel across the flare to find the safe haven, which ends up being a stick in the ground that says, “You made it”.
In The Great Gatsby, James Gatz is a poor boy who falls in love with a beautiful, eccentric millionaire named Daisy Fay. In the end, she panics and plans on dropping the topic, but a quick glance with Gatsby gives her feelings away. Daisy wants to ignore her feelings, but she fails to move past her relationship with Gatsby, which becomes evident to her friends. He continues to pester her with hopes of rekindling a relationship that ended years ago, but she refuses, and immediately moves away with Tom. This action drives Gatsby mad, and his utter devotion for Daisy is the last thought on his mind when Wilson kills him. Sara Teasdale, a poet in the 1900s, is scared of this kind of commitment; she knows that love for another will only bring about her own demise. Faced with depression and an illness that leaves her bed-ridden for much of her life, she is heavily dependent on others to survive. She becomes close with few friends because she does not want to burden them. When she must choose between two lovers, she picks Ernst Filsinger, despite her affection for another, just as Daisy does. These actions leave not only herself hur...
"To be delegated into the HSF Alumni Hall of Fame would be an honor any reasonable person would appreciate. As for me, it is more than the dignity it carries or even the reputation the award it might give off. It is about the responsibility I now carry for my fellow descendants, to give them the dream to pursue their lives and live up to the confrontations of life."

"Isn't it funny how you can think you're completely over someone, but if you drive past his house, stumble upon a meaningful song you both shared, or even catch a glance of him on the street, just in an instant, it can change all that, and you start to remember the pain. And that hollow space is feeling more and more like the Grand Canyon with every second that goes by. But you bury these feelings deep down, so deep that you're sure no one will be able to tell. To the outside world, you smile and act like nothing is wrong or will ever be. Everything's just perfect. And you go along your merry way, all the while home realizing how much you do miss him, how much you still love him... and it sticks with you for days, weeks, maybe months, until fate decides to hand you another one of these unexpected moments. And then you finally understand the worst feeling in the world is when the person you love the most is standing right next to you, yet you can never have them."
