1. Identify a stressor in your life to which you could apply what you have been learning in this class and potentially manage more effectively. A major stressor in my life while being at college would be not studying as much as I should and, as a result, not feeling as prepared as I should be for exams. 2. Think back about the past two weeks. a) What circumstances bring on this stressor? Some circumstances that bring on this stressor is not allowing myself enough time to study for my exam days in advance. In addition, I am very easily distracted by my phone, the Internet, and Netflix. This is because the appraisal model takes everyone’s individual reactions to similar stressors into consideration. Lazarus’ stress appraisal model also recognizes that not everyone believes the same event to be stressful. Through the creation of two steps within the stress appraisal model, the individual can decide whether or not the stressor has already been done or if the stress is simply a threat or a challenge to the individual. For example, if I know an exam is coming up and I do not study at all, then the stress I feel going into the exam then I know I will not do well on the exam and there is nothing I can do about it; thus, harming my grade. However, if I wait to study a few days before the exam then the stress I feel going into the exam is only a threat or challenge. My grade may suffer but not as much as it could have if I did not study at all. By studying only a few days before the exam, then I am simply challenged to stay focused for longer periods of time and try to learn the material to the best of my abilities and time constraints. From there individuals can go into the second step, secondary appraisal, which examines the individual’s personal coping abilities and resources to effectively handle the stressor. Upon examining these abilities, individual’s may realize what they had at their disposal to handle stress more effectively than they originally

After taking this class, it would be impossible to see things, specially people or myself, the same way. Whether or not the intention of the class is to provide self-improvement information, it would be impossible for the student to ignore the issues, disorders, etc., identified throughout this fast-paced plethora of information. Of course what the student decides to retains is obviously subjective; which lead us to the application of the stress and health profiles. After the completion of the scales provided, and the grading associated, it would be hard not to realize how we can better our lives, if we make minor adjustments in our way of life. I for one, personalized a large part of this information, something I probably would not have been able to do, at least at the same level, back when I was a young adult.
The everyday stress that I had should not be added to my stress living environment. Attending college is tiresome enough without having to worry about having the opportunity to study because he/she does not know when it will be quite. Change is traumatic enough without having to worry about all of these things.

Everyone deals with stress at some point in his or her life. Most people deal with it daily. As defined in the book called Principles and Labs for Fitness and Wellness, stress is, “The mental, emotional, and physiological response of the body to any situation that is new, threatening, frightening, or exciting” (Hoeger & Hoeger, 2012). This stress is caused by a stressor, which is also known as “a stress-causing event” (Hoeger & Hoeger, 2012). Stressors can take all different forms, from moving to a new town, having a baby, or even writing a paper (Boyd, Wood, & Wood, 2011). One major stressor in life can be going to college. If not coped with properly, these stressors can leave a person with too much stress that could end up harming them mentally and physically, such as developing an illness (Boyd, Wood, & Wood, 2011). There are several ways to cope with stress. Some healthy ways to cope with stress would be practicing emotion-focused coping, building time-management techniques, and practicing meditation.
Stress is something that everyone has to deal with in life, whether it is good or bad stress. Stress management techniques are a great way to deal with stress. Some of the stress management techniques that I learned from this course are prioritization, scheduling, and execution. Using these techniques has effectively helped me deal with my own stress. When it comes to dealing with stress I still have many strengths and weaknesses that I will explain. Some stressors I have in my life that I will discuss are psychointrapersonal, social, life events, and daily hassles. Next, I will give my opinion on my post-course survey, and compare and contrast it to my pre-course survey scores. Finally, I will explain my last goals for this stress management course.
Agreeably, at first, I felt overwhelmed by this class as well. As we were progressing through the reading material what I read petrified me and I sensed that my life was in imminent peril. Knowing that I needed to make immediate changes, my stress level rose because the extent of my stress that was deteriorating my health rapidly was getting worse and I did not know where to begin. Moreover, I too learned that I have a type A personality and need to embrace the qualities of a type B personality. Nonetheless, as the course progressed I started to utilize the techniques and I feel like I have a fighting chance to get my stress under control.
