During the initial stages of this investigation, it was unclear if Bozena Czeremcha’s complaint contained any information worth pursuing; however after reviewing Christie’s page 6 response (which included bank statements) it does appear that there was a misuse of funds, as well as lack of supervision, and a potential conflict of interest.
On September 25, 2015, bar counsel received Christie’s response to the page 6 letter sent on July 21, 2015; Christie had requested an extension for his response due date while he sought counsel. It should also be noted that Christie was involved in a motor vehicle accident on June 26, 2015, and was out of the office from June 26, 2015 through August 3, 2015.
Christie acknowledges that he was absent from the

It appears as if he is making these accusations to not only diminish Bozena’s credibility, but to wash his hand of this situation. Even if these errors were the result of an employee’s mistake, Christie has a duty to oversee their work. The tone of his response doesn’t suggest he feels as if he is accountable for any of his employee’s actions, which is particularly worrisome given the amount of time he spends away from the office. Although we are waiting for the return of the bank subpoena, there is no indication that Bozena was responsible for handling any of the office finances. Additionally, despite the fact Christie framed his response in a way that implies Bozena intentionally had files shredded; she doesn’t appear to be directly responsible for the files being destroyed. According to Pamela and Bozena the shredding company accidently took boxes that had not been marked for shredding. Bozena asserts that the boxes taken in error most likely contained duplicate copies of documents and sensitive medical record, not entire case files. In addition to the outstanding subpoena, I have reached out to Sarah Burnham, the bookkeeper, to discuss what she recalls about the negative IOLTA account in February of 2015; to date she has not returned my phone
Kenneth Dascoli filed a complaint against Arthur Kelly, Esq., on August 10, 2015. Dascoli alleges that Kelly deprived him of a fair trial in a criminal matter, essentially due to lack of preparation. The lack of preparation consisted of failing to visit the complainant while he was being held in jail, failing to interview witnesses, and failing to prepare for trial. Kelly has allegedly violated Mass.R.Prof.C. 1., 1.3, and 8.4(d).

Overall, the work performed to test the relevant financial statement assertions and the evidence gathered has led our audit team to conclude that the confirmation issues encountered may signify that a potential for material misstatement exists. For example, the existence of a line of credit in one of the Financial institutions indicates that we need to perform further investigation to assess the reliability of the findings.
The novel Theodore Boone: Kid Lawyer has a very in-depth conflict that is showcased all throughout the novel. In Theo's community, there is a high-profile murder trial about to begin. Mr. Pete Duffy, a wealthy business man, is accused of murdering his wife Myra Duffy. The prosecutors have the idea that Mr. Duffy did it for the one million dollar insurance policy he took out on his wife earlier, however they have no proof to support this accusation (Grisham 53). The defendants do however have the proof that no one saw the murder, for all everyone knew, Mr. Duffy was playing his daily round of golf at the golf course right by his house. As the trial moved on, the jury was starting to lean towards letting Mr. Duffy walk a free man. To this point, there has been no proof to support the prosecutors statements that Mr. Duffy killed h...
Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka are serial rapists and murderers known for the heinous crimes they committed as husband and wife. Prior to meeting, Paul was seen as the “perfect” child. He was a high achieving student, polite, and always happy. No one ever suspect that he harbored such dark and vile sexual fantasies. May 4, 1987, Paul brutally attacked and raped a 21-year-old woman he followed home (Fowles, 2013). Days later, he attacked and raped a 19-year-old girl in her parents’ backyard. This incident was followed by another incident in July of 1987. Meanwhile, in October 1987, Paul met Karla at convention in Toronto (Montaldo,
The family is scared as to what might happen with the heart surgery. Justine’s mother is also afraid that her family might blame her for going ahead with the heart surgery if anything bad were to happen to Justine in the hospital during the surgery. The family is hoping that the healing or the praying ceremony scheduled at the temple might work and cure Justine, and hopefully surgery might not be needed after all.
“I agree with Ms. Krejci that the entire file should have been disclosed with the publics record request, but that does not make it discoverable.” Feeney said. “I understand her frustration that she wasn 't given the same information that another defense attorney was. When I discovered what had happened, which was in august, I immediately requested the entire file from the Phoenix Police Department so that I could disclose it to the defense council. I didn’t do that because I believed that the information was discoverable or relevant. I did it as a professional courtesy. So that we were on the same field, and so that she felt that she had everything tha...
The New York State Comptroller is the one and only trustee for the Common Retirement Fund. The employee pension fund for the state of New York and the local government employees are all part of the Common retirement Fund. The Comptroller is the head authority to approve investments for the fund. In making these tough decisions, the Comptroller is advised and watched by his general Counsel. In 2008 the general counsel for the office of the State Comptroller of New York was told not to invest into a fund, which was managed by FA Technology Ventures. The investment would have given the FA Technology Company millions in services fees. Later on the General Counsel had received an email from an anonymous sender. The sender was “blackballing a recommendation on a fund” and threatened to disclose the General Counsel’s extramarital affair to his wife the comptrollers and all the other people involved with the fund if he d...

In the case that allegedly inspired the episode, prosecutors moved to remove a mobster’s attorneys from a case because there was evidence that the attorneys knew the crimes would be committed. Therefore, the attorneys could be called as witnesses. Prosecutors contended that the attorneys were in fact “house counsel” for the mob. The attorneys were removed.

After World War II when all the camps were liberated, trials were held against the Nazi’s who took part in this genocide. These trials were called the Nuremburg trials. The trials took place between October 20, 1945 and October 1, 1946 .
