Did you know that Natural gas powers more than 150,000 vehicles in the United States and about 15.2 million vehicles worldwide. Natural gas is hailed as cleaner than most other fossil fuels. Natural gas in vehicles emits 22% fewer greenhouse gases than diesel and 29% fewer than conventional gasoline. 40% of new garbage trucks and 25% of new buses in the United States could run on natural gas. Another Good thing, natural gas is cheaper. Natural gas vehicles are better than other types of vehicles because the safety is better, it is efficient, and it’s similar to driving a gasoline-powered car. The safety of a natural gas vehicle is better than other vehicles. They are also better for the environment, according to the Environmental Protection Agency. A natural …show more content…
gas vehicle can have a positive impact on the issues of air quality, Which is safer for everyone. The Natural gas vehicles are not flammable, which is a safer scenario in a car crash. In fact, natural gas has safety advantages can be compared to gasoline and diesel powered vehicles. Natural gas vehicles safety is better than most vehicles safety. Natural gas vehicles are also very efficient.
You’ll spend a lot less filling your tank with natural gas than most others. Natural gas is about half the price of gasoline. When driving a natural gas vehicle you need to change the vehicle’s oil less because the fuel is cleaner. Natural gas vehicles are better because they are efficient. Driving a natural gas vehicles is similar to driving a gasoline-powered car. Most people who switch to driving a natural gas vehicle don’t even notice that acceleration is typically slower than a gasoline-powered vehicle. Buying natural gas for your natural gas vehicle costs about the same or less for gasoline. The vehicles may look the same, but natural gas can power the vehicle much better. Natural gas vehicles are similar to gasoline-powered vehicles. Not everyone thinks putting more natural gas vehicles on the road is a good thing. But, natural gas vehicles put a lot less air pollution than other vehicles. Some people even think that natural gas vehicles cost too much money. Overall, once you buy the vehicle it may cost more, but the natural gas cost less than gasoline or other fuels. Natural gas vehicles are good on the street and don’t cost as much as most people
think. Natural gas vehicles are better than other types of vehicles because the safety is better, it is efficient, and it’s similar to driving a gasoline-powered car. Natural gas vehicles have better safety than most other vehicles. The efficiency of natural gas vehicles are excellent. Driving a natural gas vehicle and a gasoline-powered vehicle are very similar. Natural gas vehicles have many more reasons that they should be used. So, the next time you want to buy a vehicle, try to look into buying a natural gas powered vehicle.
Natural gas is very dangerous, especially when the health of people is the main problem. The side effects of natural gas, according to Tox Town the article points out “oxygen can be reduced, causing dizziness, fatigue, nausea, headache, and irregular breathing” and even “death”. Pennsylvania is suffering in a tremendous way people are not consuming water like they used to. In fact, the video from Fracking Hell: The Untold Story” have people explaining how their rivers and have yellow colors, and how strong the water smell. They cannot wash dishes,
The United States relies on imports for about forty percent of its crude oil, which is the lowest rate of dependency since 1991 according to the U.S Energy Information Administration. Today our country is trying to keep on track in becoming less and less dependent. When it comes to the topic of the future ways the United States will get its fuel, most of us readily agree that the United States should become more independent by using natural gas that is already here on our land. Where this argument usually ends, however, is on the question of the consequences drilling for natural gas brings. Whereas some are convinced drilling is safe, others maintain that it is actually in fact dangerous. Hydraulic fracturing or "fracking", the terms for drilling for natural gas, is dangerous to our public health and to the environment because of the water contamination it causes. Therefore, it is not something that should become a project for alternative fuel used by the United States.
Fuel prices is an area of concern for the motor carrier industry. Fuel prices are at an all-time high, driving the industry to make drastic changes. Individuals in the industry believe that by reducing the demand for fuel is the best way to address the current fuel issue. One of the leading alternatives to this fuel issue could be natural gas.
For over 100 years, the automobile industry has relied on gasoline as its main source of fuel. Gasoline is a colorless, highly flammable substance used in internal combustion engines. It is a fossil fuel made from crude oil, a natural gas formed from the remains of ancient plants and animals (Webster‘s Dictionary). Gasoline has positively influenced our way of life by providing convenient, on demand transportation. It has created a global economy that moves people and goods faster and more easily than ever imagined (Povey 12). Although a seemingly perfect substance, it has unprecedented flaws. The tremendous political, environmental, and economic problems resultant from the excessive use of gasoline leads to the conclusion that the automobile industry should not continue to rely on this source of fuel.
Natural gas extraction and consumption has risen over the past thirty years. Also known as hydraulic fracturing or fracking, a tremendous amount of uproar is being made in the environmental and political communities. Natural gas use is a great source of energy worldwide, only in America have we had a gold rush affect when it comes to extraction. Natural gas provides less dependence on foreign oil, less need for coal plants, and a more affordable energy source worldwide. There are many advantages to using natural gas but the way in which it is being extracted has caused many people to become sick. The detrimental environmental impacts caused by hydraulic fracturing continue to rise. Not to mention the political pull on big corporations and water quality standards. Currently in the Marcellus shale in Pennsylvania and the Barnett shale in Texas, the air and water quality have diminished over the past years since drilling sites ran rampant. Natural gas is natural in terms of how it came to be, but not natural in how they extract it and the problems it is causing everyone involved. To make aware the dangers of hydraulic fracturing, environmental impacts, water quality and air emissions, must be considered.
Not spending money on gas for the rest of your life is a huge selling point for many people. The problem is that recharging your car takes so long that sometimes it is not even worth it. Electric cars are also very good for our environment. Electric cars can help the environment by not emitting harmful gases and hurt our atmosphere in any way.
Gasoline fueled cars produce a number of pollutants. The most damaging pollutants that come from gasoline fueled cars are particulate matter. Particulate matter is a sequence of organic materials and inorganic substances. It includes ingredients such as lint and minerals. Nitrogen dioxide, produced when fuel is burned at high temperatures, can cause damage to the lungs and cause chest pains. One might ask, “Why are Americans still driving gasoline cars?” knowing the damage that they are subject to cause. I personally maintain that the government should push people to p...
I think gas powered vehicles are better because they function better when the weather gets cold. Cold weather hurts EV battery performance. When the outside heat falls below freezing, usable range drops to 20 miles or less making the EV practically unusable in cold weather climates (Peters, 3). We live in Alaska so the winters here are pretty much freezing or below so an EV here probably wouldn't be good in the wintertime. Also in the cold weather it makes the charging time a lot longer than it would've been if it were warm out.
Keeping your car running properly will keep you from having to replace parts that can be costly if not maintained. It can also cost you a good chunck of change when it comes to your gas and oil. When things are running smoothly they need less maintenance, which could mean that you are helping yourself to save money. With all of these great gas saving tips, why would you not want to give it a try to see for
Gas powered mowers are more efficient than electric mowers. Gas mowers also expend less energy. Gas mowers handle wet conditions much better than electric mowers. Gas mowers are much less expensive.
Many hazardous pollutants escape from the internal combustion of the engine. Conventional gas powered vehicles use irreplaceable fossil fuels to run. When burned, these fossil fuels create numerous toxins like carbon dioxide (Larminie 246). Carbon dioxide is considered the main greenhouse gas that creates the foundation for global warming (hybridcars.com, pollutants). This harmful pollutant may not have a serious effect on people at first, but it does have consequential effects on the environment that in turn put people in danger (Nutramed.com). The major consequence caused by global warming is the rise in average temperature. This results in a domino...
If all cars in the United States were powered by electricity instead of gas, many things would be affected. One thing that would be affected is the pollution levels. They would decrease because, according to Union of Concerned Scientists, cars and trucks that are gas powered are responsible for about one fifth of all of the United States pollution emissions. They emit roughly 24 pounds of carbon dioxide and various greenhouse gases for every one gallon of gas. 5 of the 24 pounds of CO produced per gallon is made from the extraction, production, and delivery of diesel or gas. The other 19 pounds is made by the trapping of heat in the car which is then propelled through the exhaust pipe, and into the
However, Planes cost way more than trains, planes also cause more pollution, While trains only cost about 10$ and are environmental friendly. This leads to the third reason why trains are the best form of transportation which is because they are environment friendly. Mike Mihaylov says that “Though train emits carbon dioxide to the atmosphere but the number of commuter trains is not many as the number of cars on the roads today.” This quote explains that there are more cars than trains. Since there are more cars than trains, then there would be more pollution. As a general rule, Cars cause the most pollution because there are a lot of them But it’s also because of the type of Fuel it is using. Planes also cause more pollution because they use jet fuel. “Greener option for transport as trains burn less fuel per ton mile than road vehicles.” This quote explains that trains are more fuel efficient and cause less pollution. Several new locomotives are meeting Tier 4 Emission Standards like the new General Electric ET44AC, and the new Siemens Charger. As a general rule, cars use gasoline, which causes more pollution. While new Tier 4 locomotives Use Nitrogen Oxides (N2O) which Causes less
We don’t really see the harm that gasoline causes because it is done in small amounts. However, the overall harm that gasoline generates will be very visible in the future. There are many reasons why we should switch from gasoline powered cars to electric cars. To begin, gasoline will eventually run out. You may have never thought of this, but the substance that powers most vehicles will, one day, disappear.
Is compressed natural gas the most effective way to fuel busses and cars? Dana Jackway Recent studies have proven that compressed natural gas is the safest, most efficient way of fueling busses. CNG has low particle emissions because of its low carbon to hydrogen ratio, which also results in the production of less carbon dioxide.
