I was in the laboratory yesterday talking with my fellow colleagues when one of them suddenly brought up the peculiar observations he had lately found in the anatomy of a deceased hand. I was intrigued by his discussion of his discoveries and asked him if I could help him dissect it even more. He agreed and led me to his table where the hand was laid out on the table before us. My colleague told me the hand had been deceased for two days, but by the looks of it the hand looked to have been deceased for weeks. It was easy to tell that this person put lots of stress on his joints and tissues on his fingers. I could already tell this man had carpal tunnel syndrome. Carnal tunnel syndrome is the condition where the median nerve on a person’s hand is compressed within a tunnel on his or her wrist. The effects of carnal tunnel syndrome are the hand becoming stiff, numb, and sore. I could tell this man had sensitive nerves, and because of that it made him easy to develop disorders. We were later informed that the person to whom this hand belonged to was a man no older than seventeen. The few people that did know him described him as someone who always wanted to bring others down with him. This man hated seeing the success of others and was always trying to take away their joy from them. Whenever something bad happened to him, he took his anger out online on other people to make them feel his pain. This teenager was constantly cyberbullying because he knew he could easily mask his identity. Just like his hand, it was tough on the outside, but on the inside it was filled with the mess of someone who did not know how to cope with their own pain.
