As one of the oldest siblings in a large family, I have always felt a sense of responsibility for others. whether it is ensuring my sibling have dinner or helping someone clean up after a party, I've always felt a duty to assist other people. I inherited this sense of social responsibility from my parents, both of whom work with the marginalized (my father works with the mentally ill, and my mother the elderly. This sense of duty has driven me to volunteer at a soup kitchen, help the elderly, as well as influencing my career path to be that of a public attorney. I chose this profession as, despite the Pledge of Allegiance ending “with liberty and justice to all” in the present day it often seems as though justice is reserved for the wealthy.
