Career Interview Report
My career objective is to become a successful entrepreneur where I can continue to grow, help other people, make a difference in the world and provide for my loved ones. I decided I wanted to become an entrepreneur because I seek opportunities to create positive changes out situations that display difficulty and adversity. I believe entrepreneurship provides daily challenges that will help me grow and become a better-rounded person. I also want to be able to implement my beliefs and ideas into my work. Many employment opportunities have strict expectations and responsibilities that are set by someone else’s rules. Although, my line work requires strict attention to details, it also provides flexibility for me to modify what I am doing at my discretion. Lastly, work takes up a large chunk of a person’s life. If I am going to put long hours towards a job, I want to dedicate my time to something I enjoy and I want my line of work to leave behind a little bit of me. Although there are thousands of paths an entrepreneur can take, the beginning of each journey is often times quite similar. I decided to interview two gentleman that I have had the pleasure of meeting in the past, whom both of which are also starting

Below is a narrative of our conversation.
Jeremy:
• Can you tell me about your background?
I was born in Waterloo Ontario and grew up raised in a family of successful entrepreneurs. I have founded two businesses, Laurier Lettermen Club and InkSmith. I am passionate about social entrepreneurship and strive to create synergies between people, planet and profit.
• What made you decide to follow this career path?
Like I said, I grew up in a family of successful entrepreneurs. I grew up always wanted to be like my father. I felt as if I had a knack for business and here I am today.
• Will you tell me about what you do in your job (demands of the

I have throughout my career as a high school student made sure to develop certain key qualities that will make me not only a great future leader but always a skilled entrepreneur. I see myself as someone who is determined, hard-working and above all else
I think that being an entrepreneur takes a lot of skills and hard work, but I believe I could do it. I would not mind being one. I would like to try to be one when I grow up. I think they are very smart and successful people and I would enjoy being one.
It is true that most entrepreneurs typically have a flair for the creative and a lot of energy. They are born with it. But having these characteris...
Ever since I was little i've always had that desire to open my own business because of the thought of owning your own place where you're the boss and you know it'll bring you good fortune. Growing up being around the kitchen was something that was an everyday thing for me, whether I was watching my grandma cook or helping her I was always there. I was raised in an environment where you have to help around the house, and if you're a female your number one place is the kitchen. I remember that when I lived in Mexico, (I was about 5 years old) my aunt had her own little location on one of the sides of the street where she would sell hamburgers, hot dogs, desserts, drinks etc.
The success of a business is greatly dependent on its entrepreneur. An entrepreneur is someone who takes the financial risk of starting and managing a new business venture. In order to be a successful entrepreneur, one must be ready to take a risk and invest one’s own savings into a business. The job requires that the individual be ambitious and committed to working hard in order to achieve the set targets. A successful entrepreneur is able to multi-task and communicates effectively with people, possessing leadership qualities such as confidence and motivation. The individual must play the role of constant motivator and inspire employees to improve their work performance, whilst ensuring a comfortable environment for the employees to work in. According to Schumpeter (1982), an entrepreneur is more of a ‘heroic’ than an ‘economic’ figure; his motivation should not solely be monetary, rather stemming more from inspiration and ambition.
Most successful entrepreneurs are have a passion for their product or service as well as a desire to solve a problem and make life easier, better, cheaper (10 Qualities of successful entrepreneurs, 2010). Their desire to be an entrepreneur is mostly due to in internal factor rather than an external such as money.
Business has been a large part of my family, and has started to grow on me. My dad worked in sales for many years, and is now the President of a company in Staples. My mom started her own cleaning business, and now works for herself, as well as my uncle owns a golf course, and a pump and well business. My other uncle has his own handy man business, while one of my aunts operates a redimix and construction company . So I guess it could be said, business is kind of in by blood.
"Entrepreneurs who start and build new businesses are more celebrated than studied. They embody, in the popular imagination and in the eyes of some scholars, the virtues of "boldness, ingenuity, leadership, persistence and determination." Policymakers see them as a crucial source of employment and productivity growth. Yet our systematic knowledge of how entrepreneurs start and grow their businesses is limited. The activity does not occupy a prominent place in the study of business and economics.
Being an entrepreneur, is advanced citizenship, you have to want it real bad. Entrepreneur is not entitlement. Being an entrepreneur is a life commitment. Like in the movie Wall Street, a famous line was "You can 't be a little bit pregnant." The fact is you can 't be an on again, off again entrepreneur.
Many people dream of becoming entrepreneurs someday. But it made me realize that there other factors that needs to be taken into consideration. We need to ask ourselves are we ready to take the challenge to the outside world. Not everyone have the vision, innovation and creativity to become an entrepreneur. The individual must have a positive attitude and accept the responsibility, have discipline to meet their goals, and take action when the opportunity presents itself. Many prefer a job security and rely on a weekly paycheck, while entrepreneurs will take risks and doesn 't have that luxury to know the amount of their income.
Entrepreneurship is an important aspect of social, economic and community life. It can be viewed as a critical factor to economic growth as well as a way of addressing unemployment (Nolan, 2003).Entrepreneurs are people who are persistently focused on identifying opportunities, they seek to create something worthwhile while taking into account foreseeable risk and rewards associated with the efforts (Nolan, 2003). Furthermore, entrepreneurs are frequently understood to be individuals who discover market needs and establish new business to meet those identified opportunities. The following assignment will firstly discuss the types of entrepreneurship, secondly it will discuss the reasons people become entrepreneurs, and thirdly it will discuss the importance of entrepreneurship.
Entrepreneurship - a special kind of activity. Its constant conditions are limited resources, competition and uncertainty of the situation. The main tools of the entrepreneur are: thrift, cooperation and innovation. Consequently, enterprise is the independent economic entity, with rights of a legal entity, which is based on the use of labor collective property produces and sells products, works, and provides services.
We learned a lot of things in this course, but I think the most important lesson I learned is that it’s not easy to be an entrepreneur. I was surprised to hear in the first class that 80% of startups fail, but after reading The Art of Start and E-myth Revisited I understood why this happens more often than one might expects. Some people start their own businesses for the wrong reason and some start with wrong mindset. I’ve always thought that if someone has a brilliant business idea and hardworking they will succeed and grow their business. However, now I know that there are many things to consider before starting any business. In fact, there are many strategies that an entrepreneur could follow to achieve success, such as know your customers, work “on” the business, and how
When considering entreprenurship, I reckon it’s vital to consider the contrast between the skills and genuinely being an entrepreneur. Being an entrepreneur is much more
