How school prepared me for my next step in life

During School I have been taught many things in which will help me in my life and career. One of these is time management, I have had to juggle many assignments and studying together. I have learned that time management is a very important factor in success in anything. To be successful you need to be able to do many things well and fast in a workplace. Another thing School has prepared me for was working with people I have not talked to or met. Being able to work and talk to a stranger is also important because that is how the job gets done and how you make the minimum number of mistakes. Also when you start working almost everyone in the workplace is a stranger that you need to be able to

work and talk with to create a better atmosphere and to make friends or acquaintances to better your experience in the workplace. Many subjects school have taught me how to solve different kinds of problems and pinpoint the problem. Math has taught me how to solve a mathematical problem with money, inches and other types of problems in a salon. Chemistry and anatomy have taught me how to figure out problems that coincide with them. There are many other things that my school experience has taught me and made my next step in life a lot easier for me to handle.

In the Cosmetology field of work i will use many experiences from school to help me through my career.

Such as time management so I can perform my tasks as smoothly and fast as I can. This will satisfy my clients and my fellow workers, It will also keep my clientele coming back to me for more services. Being able to talk with my clientele I have never met is another key factor in my success. Showing interest in their life will help give them the best experience and make them more comfortable with me. Being able to work and talk to my co-workers as well is important since I will be spending a lot of time around them and I may eventually need help with a service. Such as a second opinion on a hair color, style or cut or I may need actual help with any form of chemical service. Being able to do these things create a calm serene atmosphere. Being able to figure out a problem and solution is another thing I will need to be able to do that school has prepared me for. If I do not enjoy a client that comes to me I know the solution to that is to put my feelings aside and get the task at hand done anyway. With a haircut that I need to fix I will need to be able to best identify the problem and how to fix it depending on angles and symmetry. With a corrective coloring I will need to know how much color and developer to use in measurements to best get the right color as well as the complimentary color that will neutralize the unwanted

color.
In my Cosmetology class at school that taught us what steps we need to take if you or your clients get cut and bleed which will be useful in the salon. In math we are taught a variety of things throughout our school experiences. Being able to tell and know measurements are

very important in haircuts and coloring hair, getting those right will help satisfy your clients as well. Satisfying them is very important because then they will spread word about how well you do their hair which brings in more clients.
There were other experiences that will help me greatly, but these were the ones I thought had the most importance in my future career as a cosmetologist. I am grateful for all of my experiences that have shaped me into who I have become and will lead my path of success in my chosen next step in life, my career and my future. Learning all of these has helped me become a better cosmetologist and a better person.
