I remember waking up early mornings, and going outside working on engines and vehicles with my father. I decided to become a mechanical engineer. After looking at the benefits, salary, the task and responsibilities being a mechanical engineer would be a great career, and the best preparation would be an education at Louisiana State University located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Mechanical engineers have specific task and responsibilities. For example they need to know how to “analyze problems to see how mechanical and thermal devices might be helpful in solving problems. Design or redesign mechanical devices using analysis and computer-aided design. They also need to test prototypes they have designed (Mechanical Engineering 1)”. The skills needed in the work of a mechanical engineer are …show more content…

And finally year 4: Theory and Design of Mechanical Control
In the United States, the history of Career and Technical Education evolved within four major periods. First, the Awakening period which began in 1776-1826, when the right to a free public education was expressed. During this era, educational opportunities in labor and industrial education were being demanded. The rising working class began to press for an education that were more appropriate for their labor and industry’s needs (Awakening 1776-1826, 1976). Even Benjamin Franklin who represented the Awakening middle class was on board with the rise of technical and vocational education which were taught primarily by private masters or contracted apprenticeships (Cohen, 1976).
My preferred major is mechanical engineering. Mechanical engineering is the broadest engineering field, involving the design of mechanical systems. These systems are used in a multitude of different fields such as manufacturing, aeronautics, nanotechnology, nuclear power production, heating and cooling. A primary focus is on thermodynamics, structural analysis, materials science, and kinematics.
When I can’t make it to Target, I usually end up going to Wal-Mart, but not without contemplation. I enjoy Wal-Mart because their prices are low compared to any other store. When I go to Wal-Mart there is usually a greeter at the door. Sometimes the greeter can be happy and sometimes it seems like they hate their job, which makes you not want to shop at Wal-Mart. The lighting is usually troublesome because the light bulbs are flickering at times.
One of the memories of my childhood I deeply cherish is that of my first visit to my father's small scale factory.Exploring the machinery which made my goal more easier and my dad sharing his experiences about the working of machines made me to grew up grossing my interest towards them. That was the time i chose to get into the field of mechanical. As a child, I was always intrigued by the working of complex mechanisms and equipment. I used to spend a lot of time trying to explore and figure out their principle. In school
Possessing the basic knowledge in the field of physical sciences and the intuition in them made me to pick up Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as my majors for the Higher Secondary Education. After the completion of my secondary education, I felt that engineering was the only field which can transform and transfer my dreams in the field of sciences into a real one and also it would give me an opportunity to learn and explore how the fundamentals of science are appl...
I have always possessed the quality of being creative and a problem solver. Throughout many enrichment opportunities in which I have been fortunate enough to partake in; I have come to realize that I wish to pursue a career in life that will allow me to give back to my community. Henceforth, my ultimate goal: becoming a mechanical engineer. My drive to become a mechanical engineer has stemmed from and solidified because of my continuous participation in extracurricular pursuits such as engineering electives, participate in STEM-related challenges, and participating in the VEX Robotics club at my school. During one engineering course in particular, I was provided with the incredible opportunity of learning, as well as eventually applying the fundamentals of the engineering process by realizing my own project:
I am applying for a Masters in Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Solid Mechanics to expand on my study of and experience with materials. I have thoroughly enjoyed studying Materials Science and Engineering as an undergraduate at UCLA. I now look forward to moving into graduate study in a field of engineering with a related, but different perspective. Materials Science and Engineering has allowed me to explore both materials and other fields within engineering, contributing to my strong interest in combining my study of Materials Science and Engineering with Mechanical Engineering. I have completed basic coursework in most areas of engineering, learning statics, thermodynamics, basic programming, and circuit design. This has provided a strong foundation to continue graduate study in other engineering disciplines. I
When I look at how mankind has evolved over years, it amazes me. My career goal is to become a mechanical engineer. I aspire to become skilled enough to create mechanics, which will improve people’s lives. I come from a very hardworking family. As the first son,a lot is expected from me to set good examples for my younger brothers.
I chose the major mechanical engineering to answer all these previous scientific questions. The definition of mechanical engineering is the system that applies the principles of engineering, physics, and materials science for the design, analysis, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical system. It
Throughout my childhood, my parents constantly had to deal with me deconstructing different machines and devices just so I could put it back together again. Being able to take a machine apart and rebuild it is a feeling that I have accomplished a goal even though I just put the parts in the same place where they were before. I was good at math because math is the language of numbers and is communicated similarly throughout the world, regardless of the language. However, engineering needs a lot of math to do programming, physics and other science courses. I realized mechanical engineering was not an easy major; it needs a lot of hard work, adaptability, patience and ambition.
... of Ottawa has the right program for motivated engineers to hone and enhance their skills and become leaders of tomorrow. I have strong interests in the fields of Manufacturing Systems, CAD/CAM, Product Design and Development, Production Planning Scheduling and Control, Optimization and Operational Research. Urge to learn more in these fields encourages me to opt for Master of Engineering (MEng) in Mechanical Engineering at your prestigious university.
Engineering Mechanics deals with the rigorous study of mechanics, applied mathematics and related fields. This leads to an understanding of advanced analysis and leads to study in structural engineering, hydraulics, mechanics of solids and fluids, or properties of materials.
When designing products, they may start to just sketch out the idea and then after a couple of sketches, he or she will start to use a Computer-Aided drafting program. After a product has been built, they will preform a quality assurance check on the product. Bureau of Labor Statistics (2015) says, “Employment of mechanical engineers is projected to grow 5 percent from 2014 to 2024, about as fast as the average for all occupations. Mechanical engineers can work in many industries and on many types of projects”. As technology advances so will the number of engineering jobs in the workplace. If you have a mechanical engineering degree you are able to work in many environments from the rail industry to the aerospace
Mechanical engineering is a type of engineering which applies principles of physics and material science for the purpose of analyzing, designing, manufacturing and maintaining of mechanical systems (Gorp, 2005). It is involved with the production and usage of mechanical power in the operation of various machines and tools. Mechanical engineering is considered to be the most diverse engineering and has its breadth derived from the need to design tools and manufacture products which range from small individual parts to large systems. Mechanical engineering, as thought of by scholars, is related to Aerospace engineering, Manufacturing and Mechanical engineering (Van et al, 2011).
It has taken a very long time for me to decide on the path that I wanted to take for my career. I have almost always known that I wanted to be an engineer. I was always more interested in applying my knowledge to solve problems rather than just research and understand the world. However, I had little to no inkling as to which field of engineering I wanted to go in to. I had always been a dabbler, involving myself in a large variety of activities with the interest of learning about how stuff works. I started out learning how to use the tools in the shed outback, making pinewood derby cars and model rockets. I would help my dad with home improvement and repair projects around the house. As time went on, my ability learns and apply
