These academic programs include classroom, lab, and field studies. They commonly focus on engineering basics, geology, and thermodynamics. Work experience gained through cooperative education programs that award academic credit for job experience is also highly valued by employers. A solid foundation in math and science is excellent preparation for college studies. College graduates may take the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam immediately to validate their technical expertise and academia. Engineers who pass this exam are called engineers in training (EITs) or engineer interns (EIs). After gaining four years of work experience, EITs and EIs can go on to take the Principles and Practice of Engineering exam to qualify for licensure (“petroleum engineering …show more content…
The level of training, education, and preparation, however, seems to be commensurate with the level of pays received at any given industry or location as per the BLS. This career, in many ways appealed to me. As a person that thrives on achieving the best I can for myself, being a Petroleum Engineer offers that level of achievement and commitment I see myself in, in my own future. Nevertheless, I am also aware of the struggles that will come with this, but as it is seen often in drill sites across the globe, precision and hard work lead to obtaining what we
Ever since I could go with my dad in the tractors and equipment on the ranch, I knew I wanted to be a part of its operation. I have always been fascinated with the operations of diesel engine and much of a valuable asset they are to our world today. I helped out on the ranch whenever I could driving equipment. In the summer time it was my job to operate the swather. I really enjoyed operating it as much as I enjoyed fixing it when it broke down. When it came time to go to college the decision for a major was pretty clear. This is my second year in college in the diesel program and I really enjoy it. I have learned a lot about diesels and the field and this is what I want to do.

The word engineer comes from the latin word ingeniare. ingeniare means construct or craftsmanship. Ever since the beginning of time we have had engineers. Engineering is the combination of math and science , solving world problems to help better the world around us. Being an engineer takes a lot of knowledge, creativity, and hard work. A typical engineer can clearly see a problem and is capable of fining a solution. A senior engineer or engineering manager usually doesnt do as much technical work, but usally lot of managing. Some of the first official engineers were military engineers. They were employed by the goverment to build such things as roads, bridges, and weapons. US mililary Academy at Westpoint was the first school to offer an education in enginnering. Engineering is a very broad field. Learning is a continuous process and the day that you stop learning is the day that you start decreasing your rewards and lower levels of satisfaction. My ardent desire to acquire knowledge has motivated me to pursue higher studies at graduate level, and to take up a career in research in industry. I have taken this decision after carefully considering my academic background, profound interest in research and strong aptitude for problem solving. Banking on an excellent academic record coupled with a keen interest in the ever-growing field of science and technology motivated me to take up engineering.
Ever since I was young I have always wondered what the perfect job for me would be. Though my first aspirations were to be a fireman or a garbage truck driver, as I have grown older I have started to think more seriously about what I want to do for the rest of my life. I have looked into several career options but have always feared that I would end up at some job that I didn’t enjoy, going to work every day bored and frustrated by a binding decision I made back in high school. I’ve known that I was a special kid since elementary school and that I could do great things if put in the right environment. I always did better than others on tests and could read more and faster than most of the class. It is now time for me to find that environment and fulfil my highest potential.
He likely does not have access to adequate resources to inform or persuade the public in this manner. Furthermore, the complexity of the social and political landscape makes this discussion remarkably difficult to find success in. However, the prospective energy engineer is in a position to make an informed decision wherein the public cannot adequately. In this case, the prospective energy engineer should recognize that decisions about global warming are proper engineering decisions. The decision about what resources to use for energy production should be assessed by engineers, within their professions.
When I look at how mankind has evolved over years, it amazes me. My career goal is to become a mechanical engineer. I aspire to become skilled enough to create mechanics, which will improve people’s lives. I come from a very hardworking family. As the first son,a lot is expected from me to set good examples for my younger brothers.
As we have discussed, petroleum, natural gas, and its industries are a major factor in our economy. Oil and natural gas’s history, operations, environmental impacts, and present and future challenges demonstrate the importance of these non-renewable natural resources. The exploration of oil will continue to expand through the study of geoscience, engineering, and most importantly, technology. Midstream, containing the main operations of oil and gas, is improving each year in efficient processes for transporting, refining, and storing oil and gas. Despite the numerous challenges that are faced in the petroleum and gas industry, geologists continue to strive to make their operations safer for the environment, but are these efforts enough to save our planet for our future generations?
The ultimate aim of the engineering curricula is to produce engineering professionals who can provide technical solutions to the societal needs (Hassan B, 2007). The study shows that there is a strong need for receptiveness among the Indian graduates to know the employability skills crucial by the global talent market. It is crucial to revise the curriculum at regular intervals to cater to the needs of the industry. It is important to increase the industry-academia contact. Enhancing the skills and application of knowledge through explicit training will facilitate the recruits to execute their jobs in a paramount manner and that is the need of the hour.(pg
An education is best valued when it is used to serve one’s community at a larger aspect- this belief has been imprinted in my judgment from the commencement of my undergraduate study. This persuasion and a natural aptitude for energy science and mathematics induced me that petroleum engineering is the most fitting career for me and developed a sense in my mind that higher study is mandatory to be competent in this field. I desire a master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering followed by a PhD not only because it is the most fulfilling way to exercise my natural talent as a scholar but also it will give me the opportunity to serve my country as she has paucity of researchers in this discipline.
Obstacles had never been obstructing my effort to succeed in life. As an engineer to be, it is important to me to be prepared for the hurdles in the real world. The world nowadays needs a person who could compete and has great abilities to stand on the same level as others. Multiple skills and critical opinion of an issue are essential for an engineer to jump into this challenging career. For me, a strategic planning and full preparation need to achieve the aim of being an expert engineer.
With an evolving world and growing population, environmental engineers are constantly faced with challenges to design and manage systems that help utilize our natural resources without degrading our earth. I want to be faced with these challenges head on, with my passion for the environment and ability to solve unknowns; I am destined to become an environmental engineer.
