The first communication skill I need to work with is face to face communication. Even though I deal with it on a daily basis with friends and family. I find it hard dealing with it in a professional work place because I got to be carefully how I say things, how I show my body language, and my eye contact. I’m so use to talking with people, that I get comfortable how I communicate with them face to face. I blame this commutation skill because of my current employer. I sit at my work place in a cubicle secluded from everyone and running the IT department using mediated communication. But, I know I can overcome this challenge and make sure I excel in face to face communication. The second communication skill I need to excel is in public speaking. The computer forensic always has to hold press conferences and report to the media on the criminal internet finding. They are the usually the ones doing the public speaking at the press conferences because they know how to dumb it down for the public to understand what going on. Even though I don’t mind public speaking I get very nervous in front of an audience. I become very stiff when I start talking and start touching everything around me. I know to overcome this nervouses I’m just going to have to practice more on my public speaking. These are the commutation skills I need to excel for my career

Within the Criminal Justice System there is diverse career opportunities to choose from. The career I am interested in being is a Criminal Profiler with the FBI National Center for Analysis of Violent Crime. I am interested in this job because it seems to be an intense job to do. A criminal profiler's job is to create a psychological profile of a criminal suspect. Creating one of these profiles can be used to help catch the suspect. This is done by examining evidence from the crime, interviewing witnesses and victims, and analyzing crime scenes. Information obtained from these investigations can then be used to help the profiler determine a pattern of criminal behavior. Most of the time the information that was collected can be used to find out more about the suspect.
The law enforcement and criminal justice career field is full of work opportunities for many different personality types. The job that is best for people with intense, determined personalities would have to be an FBI agent. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is a law enforcement agency that conducts investigations into federal law violations and is primarily responsible for law enforcement. “The FBI maintains a number of investigative programs, including the following: Counterintelligence, counterterrorism, public corruption, organized crime, white-collar crime, violent crime, background investigations, violent gangs, fugitives, art crime, civil rights, cybercrime, indian country, and environmental crime. The agents are responsible for many things, such as conducting undercover operations and investigating suspected drug trafficking, organized crime and terrorist organizations, extortion, and various types of fraud” (FBI Agent, 2014).
I have known from a young age that I wanted to help people, and since then I have searched for the opportunity and knowledge to be able to do just that. On that note, seeing the joy on my uncle’s face, after losing both of his legs and having to learn to walk again with prosthesis’s was so uplifting for me, to witness him so happy even though I wasn’t involved with his healing process. Consequently, I could only imagine how good it would feel to know that I helped him regain his independence and return a smile to his face. That was when I realized that I wanted to give back to people that are in need of assistance. These individuals may not be able to do anything about the position they are in, Hence when I become an Occupational therapist; I will

The communication skills I currently use in the field of social work are as follows:
Baseline Skills: I am still a bit timid when it comes to my verbal skills, but throughout my life, these skills have been slowly developing. Verbal communication is the most common form of communication. Verbal communication is used everyday, whether it is ordering a coffee in the morning, lunch at a restaurant, or telling the store clerk what size dress I need. Ever since I was a baby, I was taught to verbally communicate. It is one of the major stepping-stones in a person’s life. Through education, I have had to strengthen my skills for interviews and speeches. For example, I have had job interviews, volunteer interviews, and interviews to get into certain education programs like honor societies. I’ve taken speech classes, where we had to give a speech every month including memoirs, informative speeches, declarative speeches, and debates. At my last dance

So with looking further into all of the different criminal justice paths I could go down and with my love for science I thought being a forensic scientist would be the perfect job. After I’m done with college, my successful will continue. Regardless my main goal is to just be happy, and never have to struggle for anything. But, when I think about my future the first thing I always think about is the car I want. Which is so odd because I should be thinking about a place to live, and a family maybe first, then a car. But no, I want my all white Cadillac CTS. Depending on what year I get enough money to purchase this perfect car, I’m going to want to the newest year. Just so I can have all the newest interior and the technology. I want to one day, have a family and a decent sized house in a big city. I haven’t really decided yet if I either want to go into the FBI or just work for the local police station wherever I decide to live.
As I am preparing for a new chapter in my life, I have put a lot thought in about what I want out of life and what to look forward to as I get older. In order for one to achieve anything, they need to set goals to reach for. I have a handful of goals for my future, short term and long term, that I will actively work towards in my college years and beyond. In my time at UW Eau Claire, I plan to be involved and engaged in student activities on campus. Being active will help me meet new people, build a better resume, and have fun at college. At UWEC, I would like to get involved in anything musical, along with various clubs and Greek life. Similarly, another goal of mine is to have a job on campus. Having a job will not only help me make some
