Carbon Footprint
The overall Vision and Mission of the Martin County Strategic Energy Master Plan establishes a county-wide Carbon Footprint baseline and creates strategic goals designed to produce reductions in of Greenhouse Gasses and Carbon Emissions and concludes with the recommendation of financially feasible best practices and technology to bring about reductions in the County’s Carbon Footprint. This process is critical, because it measures the past, current and future carbon footprint desirable levels for Martin County’s end users that utilize the Plan’s realistic goals that establish a new energy marketplace.
(Propose possible financing initiatives that will be necessary to achieve concrete results in reducing its “Carbon Footprint” in a way that will utilize the best practices on a regional, national and global basis. We need to examine what is a carbon footprint and how to best measure it, what is the importance of measuring it, and what are the best ways to reduce it from a global, local and individual basis. The biggest challenges we face this century is climate change, decreasing fossil fuel reserves and the scarcity of potable water the SEMP is Martin County’s response to these crises.
Carbon Footprint Defined
A carbon footprint, also known as greenhouse gases, is the measure of gases that trap heat in the atmosphere. These gases are released as a result of our daily activities such as: heating and cooling your house, commuting to and from work, and using low efficiency appliances. The gases, carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane (CH4) can be measured on a wide scale, from determining the carbon footprint of a nation or just the footprint of a single household. Measuring these gases helps determine the...

...ure conscious dress codes help lower heating and cooling costs because employees will not be over dressed for conditions in the summer months. Placing solar panels on roofs of buildings that are at certain heights and get optimal sunlight is an option available that results in costs savings for the operation of the buildings as would encouraging employees to take the stairs when possible reduces the energy elevator load demand.
The SEMP is written to support the implementation of these solutions that can shrink the County’s carbon footprint. Greenhouse gas emissions have been an issue for decades, implementing carbon reduction programs that require only small changes in our daily lives help us to reduce our carbon footprint and save us money.

Canada; known for peacekeeping, multiculturalism and having one the largest ecological footprints in the world. What is an ecological footprint? The ecological footprint is a measurement of the amount of greenhouse gases produced by the activities in a person's daily life. One main source of greenhouse gas is burning fossil fuels. That includes the gas in a person's car and the coal burned at the power plant. Scientists have concluded that humans are producing more greenhouse gases than ever before. These gases trap heat in our atmosphere, causing our planet to warm up and changing our climate. The ecological footprint, therefore, measures the amount of potential impact a person's daily life has on the environment. By reducing the amount of greenhouse gases produced by people's lifestyle, they can reduce the footprint and help slow climate change on Earth. Canadian's are starting to get accustomed to using a surplus amount of energy when it is never needed and throwing garbage on the ground because the trash can is too far away for them reach. Canadian's are also using up the little natural resources left on this planet for sustainability. Crops, oil, trees are being used so much, that there might not be enough for the future generations. Canada must realize that this is a situation that must be taken seriously and that must be executed properly by meeting the social, environmental and economical standpoints. To reduce the ecological footprint and to regain sustainability, there are many things Canadian's can do to change the current situation. Ecological footprints can be reduced by using alternative energy sources, reducing energy consumption and by using cleaner transport to reach destinations.

Thesis: As the environment encounters damage from increasing levels of carbon dioxide, actions on both governmental and individual levels need to be implemented in order to protect the welfare of future life.
Most, if not all, affects their day to day lives (EPA). In addressing this problem, the plans and programs of the government will play a very important role. Considering that the United States is one of the most powerful countries in the world, the US President should address and work on solutions regarding these environmental issues. In an interview with Barack Obama in 2008, he mentioned that, “The U.S. is the world’s largest economy and the largest single source of the world’s greenhouse-gas emissions, so it is our responsibility to take the first step”

Carbon footprint can be defined as the amount of greenhouse gases an individual produces at a time through diverse activities. A person’s carbon footprint is the sum of all emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), which were induced by an individual’s daily activities for a given time frame. CO2 is one of the many greenhouse gases that are responsible for causing global warming which we are currently experiencing today. Carbon footprint is an extremely powerful tool which we can utilize to understand the impact that our personal activities have on global warming.
First and foremost, in order to make any difference in the amount of C02 in the environment, low/no-carbon technology must be developed and implemented. This can’t be done without money however, and that is something greatly lacking for this cause. Both the government and the people have to support the fight against greenhouse gasses...
Many businesses have adopted casual-dress days as a tool to boost employee morale. Management likes to use this as a benefit because it is free. Types of businesses that have casual-dress days are businesses in which employees do not have many interactions with clients. Accounting firms, insurance companies, and many corporate offices use the casual-dress policy. These businesses have casual-dress days to increase worker productivity, to have more open communication between staff and managers, cost savings to employees because casual business wear is less expensive, and improved work quality. Many companies do not have casual-dress days because there are many ways wearing casual clothing can hurt business. Employees may interpret the word casual too liberally and wear inappropriate clothing. The professional image may also be weakened if clients feel employees are too casual to be entrusted with their business.

Sustainability, as an issue, has been the subject of widespread debate for ages now. While some people cannot associate themselves with the concept, others are too agnostic about the implementation of practices which can result in a win-win scenario for all. Another subset even wonders if the practices itself are sustainable or not. Such different views helps little to achieve the objective, when it is itself difficult to begin with.
Sustainability is an issue that everyone should be concerned about. If the planet Earth is going to exist, as we know it, everyone should wake up and do their part to help achieve a greater level of sustainability. In my English 101 class we learned about the issue of sustainability. Many different topics were discussed and researched throughout the course of the semester. Overall, I think that the sustainability project has been a learning and enlightening experience for everyone in this class. Many more things can be done next semester, since the groundwork has been laid to continue this project for time to come.
Every day the world around us is changing ever so slightly in many different ways. Humans can affect the environment through our day to day lifestyle without even noticing the change. An ecological footprint is a measurement of how much a person uses the environment around them to live their life. This given measurement can help one to see their impact on the earth. It is an important tool to understand what actually a human does to change the habitat near them. My ecological footprint results gave me a perspective of how my daily life can impact the world I live in, as well as, how I as an individual can change my actions to make less waste on earth. It is also useful for each person to know their own ecological footprint since no one live
Although it is hard to completely erase the damage and negative effects of global climate change, it is never too late to start improving our everyday lives to help benefit the planet we live on. Small changes like a light bulb, installing solar panels on a house, or even recycling a bottle of coke can help reduce the size of individual carbon footprints. It is also beneficial if one has enough money to indulge in an electric car. Perhaps in the future electric cars and biofuels will be the only options for driving creating a healthier planet to live on. In the future, electric cars and solar panels should become more affordable for the average person to purchase since they are currently too pricey.
STATE THESIS & MAIN POINTS: I’m going to persuade you that going green is one solution you could do to help improve the environment by first explaining the problem, then by explaining the factors responsible for pollution, and lastly by listing ways that can help solve this problem.
Mr Price Group must also protect the planet by decreasing their carbon footprint even more and start more projects such as the rooftop gardens to lessen their impact on the environment to better publicity. Mr Price Group reduced their carbon footprint by 17% or 29 500 tonnes of CO2 emissions through improved energy usage and lower energy intensive lighting. They can also increase the amount of waste recycled at the head office which is currently only at 50%.
