What is cancer?
Cancer is the uncontrollable replication of abnormal cells that contain mutated DNA. This results in the growth of cancerous tumours. Cancer is either benign; where the cancer mutation or tumour is not invasive, grows slowly, and does not spread; or malignant; where the cancer mutation or tumour is invasive, grows fast, and quickly spreads throughout the body by means of the lymph and blood. It is caused by many things including: oncogenes, age, viruses, radiation, chemical exposure, smoking and hormonal imbalances. Cancer can be treated by means of surgical removal, chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy.

Pancreatic cancer has become a taboo topic that many people are afraid to speak out about. It looms over families like a dark cloud, and manages to destroy people in a scarily short amount of time.
Cancer is the term used to describe a group of diseases consisting of hundreds of ailments and although there exists so many different types of cancer, they all begin in a similar way. The body is made up of over a trillion cells, and cancer is the uncontrolled growth of malfunctioning cells in the body (Dawson, 1996). “Normal body cells grow, divide, and die in an orderly fashion. During the early years of a person’s life, normal cells divide faster to allow the person to grow. After the person becomes an adult, most cells divide only to replace worn-out or dying cells or to repair injuries” (American Cancer Society, 2012).
In general, the word cancer is the name given to a collection of related diseases (What is cancer? n.d.. ). In our everyday life multiple thousands of your cells divide in order to keep the function of that certain cell ongoing. Through out all types of cancer, the body begins to force cells to divide without cease which then spreads to the surrounding tissue. Cancer can take form in any part of the human body, were thousands of cells are cancerous. Through time human cells grow and divide to form new ones as it is a requirement for the body to keep functioning. Therefore
Cancer is a very large issue in the world. Cancer is a sickness that can lead to many life threatening problems and can eventually lead to death. There are many different kinds of cancer that can effect a person without them even knowing it is there. One type of cancer that can be easier to detect would be skin cancer. Skin cancer can be diagnosed by seeing a doctor or dermatologist, if they see an abnormal mole or spot on your skin, they many ask to remove the spot and test it in their laboratory. If the spot or mole comes back positive for skin cancer, they next will run more tests to see if it has spread throughout the body. The first thing the doctor will ask you is the time frame from when you first started noticing this on your body,
To understand more about this disease I did a research on it, and according to the National Cancer Institute: “Cancer is a term used for diseases in which abnormal cells divide without control and are able to invade other tissues. Cancer cells can spread to other parts of the body through the blood and lymph system”. Also, there are more than 100 different types of cancer. Cancer is not a single disease, but a group of related diseases.
There are more than a million people suffer from cancer in the United States every day. Lung cancer is not the only type of cancer but it affects many people and families every day. Lung cancer makes the lives of its patients and the families. Lung cancer is one of the deadliest types of cancer and also one of the most common. Hundreds of thousands of people get diagnosed with lung cancer every year in just the United States. Also close to just as many people die from lung cancer in the US every year. I am going to talk about lung cancer and what it is, how to lower your risk of getting it, statistics of it, and the research and treatment of it.
Cancer is a disease when abnormal cells divide without control and invade other tissues in the body. Normal cells divide in a regulated way to generate new cells that are needed to keep the body healthy. Cancer cells are when the normal cell division process goes awry. When this happens cells don’t die like they’re supposed to, and new cells are produced when the body doesn’t need them. When cancer cells form a lump of tissue it’s called a tumor. There are two types of tumors, malignant, and benign. A benign tumor isn’t cancerous, and can often be removed, and in most cases, they don’t come back. Benign tumors do not spread to other parts of the body like malignant tumors. Malignant tumors are cancerous. The cells within the malignant tumor spread from one part of the body to another and also invade nearby tissue which is called metastasis.
Cancer occurs when cells divide uncontrollably. Cells keep dividing even though new cells are not needed. Change from normal to cancerous cells requires gene alterations. Altered genes and uncontrolled growth may lead to tumors.
Cancer is the name given to a collection of related diseases. In all forms of cancer: the cells in the body begin to divide uncontrollably and then spread into the surrounding tissues.
Cancer is a term used for diseases in which abnormal cells divide without control and begin to invade other tissues. The term cancer is also used when cells start to produce too quickly when there are not enough cells dying. Cancer cells are also called malignant cells. Cancerous cells are able to invade other healthy cells and can spread to other parts of the body through the blood and lymph systems.
Cancer Cancer is a disease in which cells grow out of control and invade, erode, and destroy normal tissue. Damaged genes cause this development of cancer. These damaged genes are often a factor caused by such things such as the environment, and can be influenced by inherited factors. As the very early damaged cells divide they can evolve into a malignant cell population, and lose the control mechanism that govern normal cell division. These malignant cells can then go on to form solid tumours that start to destroy normal tissue.
I would not be the only one to admit that when I hear the word cancer, I cringe. I know how broad the topic is but I want to focus on one specific form of cancer and that is Leukemia. When my cousin, Johnny, was diagnosed with Leukemia at the age of 12, we had to familiarize ourselves with the term. We knew that it was cancer and that people die from this disease and that it wasn't contagious but we still were scared that it might somehow jump from his to us. That is because we were ignorant to the disease. We didn't realize the toll that would have on his body or how he felt.
A common topic in everyday life is sickness. It’s something that equalizes all classes of society. Whether you’re rich or poor, it’s possible to get sick. Whenever you hear someone talking about cancer you assume the worst. Your brain goes to an image of an old person, hair falling out, frail, in extreme amounts of pain, suffering from the cancer killing their body slowly from the inside out. But you never imagine it actually happening to you or someone you love. But it happened to my grandma. About four years ago my grandma was diagnosed with breast cancer. At the time, she had just moved away from my mom and I to live near her son and his family. I knew she had cancer but I wasn’t aware of how she was dealing with it or what cancer was. I

In addition, I will also talk about the symptoms and the facts that can be taken. I also will talk about the stages of pancreatic and how it’s treatable depending on how severe it is. Some of these risk factors affect the DNA of cells in the pancreas, which can result in abnormal cell growth and may cause tumors to form. Some genes control when our cells grow, divide into new cells and die; genes that help cells grow, divide, and stay alive are called “oncogenes”, and the ones that help cell under control, repair mistakes in DNA or cause cells to die at the right time are called “tumor suppressor genes”. Some risk factors, like smoking can be changed but when you have a family history about having can’t be changed.
