Canada was once a colony of Britain and was under the form of monarchy. As a country, Canada’s ability was shown during First World War. As Canada is growing stronger and stronger, we slowly are developing our own identity, why should Canada give up on everything we established and still stays in the tie with British. By maintaining the ties with U.K, Canada will not gain any benefits, instead we might cause unnecessary troubles for other countries.

Canada as a country does not want to cause troubles and take away other countries’ freedom and their own identities. Canada did not enter into World War one voluntarily, instead due to the relationship with Britain, Canada entered automatically. During the war, millions of Canadians volunteered to sign up for the war and not only represent for Canada, but also Britain. Until the Battle of Vimy Ridge in April 1927, this was the day Canada started to emerge under the shadow of Britain. All the payments towards British come from the tax payer’s pocket in Canada, who worked hard everyday and five days a week. As Canadian why should we pay for the Queen, instead isn’t it better for us to donate these monies to some families who are experiencing poverty and actually need the money. Also while U.K is paying less than Canada, they still receive income taxes from royal estates; but for Canada we don not receive any practical benefits from Britain. Many people claim to this day that Canada came of age as a country on those hard April days in 1917. At first, through the meticulous planning of the battle, the world saw a nation capable of working together and making decisions as a team. Afterwards, with the range of technical and tactical innovations involved in the attack, the world saw a strong nation unafraid to protect and defend. In the end, through great sacrifice the world bore witness to the birth of the Canadian legacy.
