Recommended: The impact of art on society

I believe art can initiate change. Change can expose injustices and create an open dialogue about the human condition all around the world. Eventually, solutions will become visible. In my city, there has been unrest regarding the death of a black teenager, and from across the globe, a terrorist organization is inflicting social injustice with deadly brutality. We have become a culture of violence where the line between right and wrong has become blurred, tolerance dismissed, and communication broken. I want to become a compelling artist who uses performance art to communicate the rights, wrongs, fears, similarities, and the differences between us to evoke change. I believe an ingenious, thought-provoking play or film can elicit either joy
