The Call of the Wild, by Jack London is a really sad story, but an exciting adventure with a dog named Buck. The book is about a dog named Buck, whose ancestors were wolfs. Buck lived in a huge house and his masters name was Judge, and he had everything he wanted. One day, one of Judge's servants sold Buck to some men who wanted to go find gold in Alaska, and his life changed forever. Buck knows nothing about living in the wild but, Buck learns how to live in the wildlife and learns how to survive like the wolfs, and never stops giving up his job. Buck is from a household where nothing is hard for him to do, and he always has plenty to eat. Out in the wild, overtime Buck learns how to survive like a wild dog. For example, he learns how to make a bed by digging a hole in the snow that way his body heat is in the hole, while the cold air is blowing around above. Another example would be that he learns how to be sneaky like one of his other dog friends, and is able to take his masters food without them looking. …show more content…

Driving back and forth between Dawson and Skaguay, and many ther places going back and forth. For example, his first master, was two men who wanted to go look for gold, and when they got to there destination, they sold Buck to someone who had to carry mail, right back where he had started. The dogs didn't get much rest, and they were all sore and tired from running back and forth. His next master, his name was Hal, and his assistant Charlie and his wife Mercedes, were at first nice, but then they were cruel to the dogs, whipping them when they didn't go fast enough. Even though his masters were cruel to him, or fair enough, they never gave him or any of the other dogs, enough rest.
