Recent fire arm legislation has challenged the rights of every citizen in the state of California. Such legislation is paving the way for the confiscation of other amendments as well. Although, there are parties against the fight for guns; many do not realize the importance of people being able to protect themselves. Gun laws in California are becoming more restrictive, as a result these laws are costing innocent citizens their rights and even some lives.
One of the amendments of the constitution is the right to bear arms. This allows many to protect themselves as well as defend against an abusive government. Many supporters of the second amendment believe that without the right to bear arms, the government would be free to control the people without resistance. The second amendment states, “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." This shows the importance of guns to the founding fathers and to the safety of our country all together. Without a well regulated militia and the right to bear arms, we would not even have the country we live in. Firearms are not an issue as long as they are safely operated and a little common sense.
With proper training and safety devices, firearms are no more of a threat to innocent individuals then any baseball bat or golf club. Studies show that 31% of unintentional deaths caused by firearms could have successfully been prevented by the addition of safety devices. In modern days there is multiple ways that any one can learn how to safely operate, store, and maintain any firearm. One of the leading causes of unintentional deaths from firearms is improper storage of the firearm. If you pu...

... sexual abuse.
Another great idea would be offering free firearm safety to women of California. If California had a rise in the amount of women who are armed and educated on the use of a firearm, there would certainly be a decline in sexual assault.
In conclusion, firearms are not only a big part of the founding of this country, they are also one of the biggest sources of protection amongst California citizens. Without the right to properly bear arms Innocent citizen will see crime rate rise as well as more lives taken away every day. hundreds of lives could be save by just allowing citizens to exercise their right to bear arms. A criminal is less likely to try to prey on a person who is armed and capable of protecting them self.

In conclusion, the second amendment is very important for the United States of America in order to protect our freedom and the common good. Our founding fathers gave us this right to ensure us the ability to protect those self-evident truths. Further, our government has already taken away much of our freedom and we need our guns to protect ourselves from this overreaching government. Most of all, the reason the second amendment is important is in order to ensure us our freedom and make sure we are not enslaved by our government. For these reasons, we must protect and fight for our second amendment right to bear arms.
This article briefly discusses the current rights of mainland American citizens and their rights to bear arms. Although it’s an amendment for a citizen of the United States to bear arms, most people today probably won’t ever need to or have to. With that being said, gun control in the U.S. is still a problem year in and year out. I believe that yes, we do have a problem with gun control within the United States. My first thoughts on this issue raised in the article are that the Supreme Court should continue to ban weapons within the District of Columbia.
“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed” is stated in the United States Constitution as the Second Amendment. Several Americans wish to rid of guns from citizens, disobeying and disrespecting the Constitution. I shot my first gun when I was young and have always been surrounded by them. My neighbor does not leave the house without carrying one, nor does my eighteen year old friend. Never once have I felt unsafe or uneasy knowing that there was a gun close to me. The right to bare arms has become a popular local battle in which some people want to reduce the freedom of one owning firearms while others wish for the
The Second Amendment states, “A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.” This statement basically means that people should be able to own guns for their own security and that right should not be taken away. The Second Amendment was added to the Constitution because the creators of the Constitution wanted to make sure that it protected basic rights, including the right to bear arms. It was also added to the Constitution because shortly after it was ratified, James Madison wanted to give more power to the state militia and to give more power to the people to give them the ability to fight back against the Federalists and the tyrannical government they were creating. After fighting off the British, the Second Amendment was created to give citizens the opportunity to fight back against controlling government and protect themselves with their own weapons.
The second amendment is made up of two clauses, the prefatory clause and the Operative Clause. The Prefatory clause states, “A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State...?” The Operative Clause states, “...the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” There is often many discord between whether the second amendment is talking about two separate groups, the militia or the people. The prefatory clause in my opinion announces the purpose for which the right was created, but doesn't suggest the main reason that the right to bear arms is valued. According to Justice Stevens, the prefatory clause stated that the purpose was to protect the state’s interest in maintaining an armed militia to
Guns are not the trouble, people are. The United States is #1 in world gun ownership, and yet is only 28th in the world in gun murders per 100,000 people. The number of unintentional fatalities due to firearms declined by 58 percent between 1991 and 2011 Based on these facts, one can see the guns not the causes of gun violence. moreover, civilians who get permits take gun safety courses and have criminal background...
The Gun Control problem in the United States of America is all because of the problem that we have with people not knowing how to use a gun, and the safety. The reason the laws are being brought to legislation is make sure that we protect our second amendment. Make sure that every American has the same right a bear a weapon, no matter the age but if they are fit to own a weapon.
Violence related to guns is a prominent issue in America. Guns are a means to an end; meaning guns have played a strong role in suicides, murders, and injuries. In the past decade there has been an average of 400-500 thousand incidents of firearms per year (Gun Violence). The number of injured people from firearm incidents in the United States per year for the past decade is 400-600 thousand people (Gun Violence). These statistics are absolutely shocking to anyone. The amount of violence and crime that comes from guns is enormous. It is imperative that proper gun control is put into place by means of background checks and proper training. It can almost be certain that the number of incidents of accidental discharges from children and the number of victims affected by gun crimes in general can be highly reduced.
Gun control has been a controversial issue for many years. A vast majority of citizens believe that if gun control is strictly enforced it would quickly reduce the threat of crime. Many innocent people feel they have the right to bear arms for protection, or even just the pleasure of hunting. Americans have a constitutional right to own hand guns and stricter laws and licensing will not affectively save lives.
Nevertheless, guns are very dangerous and they are used in all sorts of criminal activities already. Therefore, the benefits of having a gun outweigh the drawbacks of not having a gun. No matter what each individual’s beliefs are in regard as to whether gun control should or should not be enforced, the Second Amendment of the Constitution gives each person the right to bear
As I watch and read news reports about gun massacres and attacks, I began to believe that California gun laws need to be stricter. More specifically, I feel that background checks should be part of the sales of ammunition, fire-arm purchasing at gun shows and the internet adopting the 48-hour waiting rule to protect immediate access, and expanding the definition of mental illness under the gun laws. Changing these gun laws will make California citizens safer and feel comfortable around any environment they visit; for example, these changes could reduce the chance of a large scale massacre, make it harder for angry people to shoot their family and co-workers with guns, and may help reduce suicide by gunshot.
When the United States Constitution adopted the Second Amendment as a part of the Bill of Rights it was to recognize citizens the right to keep and bear arms. This Second Amendment is the reason why strong gun advocates are afraid to have any gun policy put in this state. The people that have their guns believe that the government is going to be corrupted and the people have to overturn it. But, they live in a fairytale if they really thinking that they are going to beat a army like the United States. They are afraid that the local government will take away their guns. This policy that I will explain to you won't do none of these options, but instead help the state lower the crime rates that involve guns and keep law enforcement well know to people that have guns in their possession. We are trying to go after the illegal owners of firearms instead to outstanding citizen that owns gun trying to protect his family from an home invasion, protecting his herd from wolves so the farmer won't lose more money , or just having a good time hunting with his friends and family.
The state has one of the pioneering bans on the possession of semi-automatic rifles enacted in 1989. More restrictive measures have been added after that. Unlike many other states, California does not have provisions that guarantee private persons the right to possess, purchase, or carry firearms. This has led to many challenges of the provisions in federal courts, especially since the Supreme Court determined that the provision in the Second Amendment is applicable across all states (McDonald, 2010).
The Framers created the Second Amendment to allow states the option to form militias or armies to prevent another uprising similar to Shay`s Rebellion. Since the federal government had no standing military this significant event showed a weakness in the Articles of Confederation. Today, United States citizens exercise this right regularly for protection, hunting or collection purposes; either way this right is extremely popular amongst citizens and gun owners. However, a plethora of individuals have abused the right of owning gun through senseless acts of violence. The more people learn about the violence and crime rates in our own country, the quicker everyone will realize that we need immediate change before there`s a war between people and guns.
Gun safety is a subject that has been a main topic in the past few years among many, especially within politics. It is something that has become a substantial topic in the past few years due to many shootings and accidents that have occurred with today’s youth. It is a topic that needs to be addressed.
