Cali is a freshman in high school, she is 15 and gets bullied and picked on everyday. She’s nice and never talks that much but other kids think she’s weird at school. Some students who sit behind her in class, like to pull hair, shove her in the hallway, and say mean things about her. They start rumors that aren’t true. No one is nice to her and she doesn't really have any friends. Well, Cali was in the hallway and the bell was about to ring she had to get her stuff for class, some boy in the hallway shoved her and her books and stuff fell on the floor. She picked them up and went to class. She doesn't say anything to the other kids because she is scared about what they will do and say if she tells on them or anything. Then she went to
class and this girl that sits close to her said “ Your ugly and no one likes you.” It hurt her feelings and she almost cried but she didn't because she don't want nobody calling her a cry baby but she did nothing to the girl that said that to her, she just is mean to her for no reason. Cali went home crying, she ran in her room and her mom followed her. Her mom asked her “Cali, why are you crying?” Cali said, “Everyone at school makes fun of me everyday and no one likes me and they call me ugly/” So, her mom sent to the school the next day and she went to talk to the principal. *next day* Her mom went to the principal's office and she said to him, “Cali has been telling me kids at school are messing with her, she came home crying yesterday. Will you please tell them to leave her alone.” “Yes i will, sorry ma'am, “ the principal said. *The next day* At school the next day Cali got off the bus went to her locker and no kids didn't say a word to her. When she went to class, the girl that had said she's ugly 2 days ago said her name.. “Cali “ the girl said. Cali looked at her. “I’m sorry for being mean and rude to you all this time, i won’t be mean to you again,” she said. “It's fine, thank you for apologizing,” Cali said. ` Cali is a happier person now that kids don't mess with her anymore, because when they did she was sad and depressed. People at school are a lot more nicer and she has more friends than she used too. Other situations are dissolved the same way, as long as you tell an adult about something that is happening at school, they can say something to the teachers etc. , So they there is not any more problems. The THEME of this story is, don't be afraid to tell an adult about situations at school or anywhere etc. Because it will be better and they can help you with the problem. Don't be scared to tell because you don't want other kids calling you names for telling on people for doing what they aren’t supposed too.

When choosing a place to live, we decide on the one that pleases us and our busy lives. For those who enjoy constant activity and sunny warm beaches, California and Florida tend to be on their list. Sixth grader Jodee enrolled at a private academy and the first few months were without incident. Jodee reveled in having friends and tried to do everything right to stay in good standing. The trouble started when she called her mother to leave the party early. Jodee begged her mother not to tell her what was going on with the twelve-year-olds—but they were all caught in the act. Monday morning at school she found her favorite suede shoes floating in a toilet bowl of urine with a note attached—“Bitch, this is just the beginning.”
Then even later, his teacher comes and starts yelling at him. She goes into the

Through the years you hear it from older siblings and in the media people saying, the number one tip to surviving high school is this: Do not stand out, just fit in and you will make it. But this is not always true, when you fit in you are cheating yourself. You never will know what you can accomplish. There is always that voice in your head saying “What will people think of me? Will they think I am weird?” As the “Girls Bullying” article points out, “These acts can include rumor spreading, secret divulging, alliance-building, backstabbing, ignoring, excluding from social groups and activities, verbally insulting, and body language,” (“Girls Bullying Girls; an Introduction to Relational Aggression”). In high school in order to not feel ridiculed most people walk on egg shells, they just stay under the radar so nobody talks bad abou...
The idea behind the Iowa Narrative project was to bring light to an unknown narrative that was connected to Iowa City in some way. My group decided to bring light to the Black Angel statue. We knew that the legend behind this statue was know around campus and that it was a legend many people believed in. Our purpose for shinning light on this legend was to persuade people to see that the myth may not be true. I feel like we accomplished this by setting our goal, setting the mood, logos, and using induction to gain credibility.
The day my mom told me we were moving was a school day, I’d just left hanging with my friends, of which I had many. So we were stopped at a red light and she said “ You know that job I interviewed for in San Francisco? Well they called today, and I got it!” I don't know how she expected me to react, but I just kind of sat there not saying much. Wasn’t this supposed to be great news, a huge promotion, a way out of her job that she hated. But I just couldn’t be happy for her. Move to California? Thats absurd. But all our family is here, what about all my friends. It was so crazy I couldn't even be sad or angry. I just kind of pretended it wasn’t happening. I just told my friends, and we didn’t talk about it. I would hang out with them like normal, we did all our usual things right up until the last day of school. The last day was the hardest, how was i never going to be here again, there's no way, it just didn't make any sense. You are probably hearing this and thinking what a wimp, who is this upset, it's just a move there are people in the world
The two of them neglected to even go back and get the water and decided just to take the long walk back to the classroom. Neither of them said a word to each other, because they were too embarrassed and upset at what had just happened. The two of them finally arrived back at the classroom all dirty and with no water. The teacher just shook her head and told them they still had 5 minutes of nap time. The two quietly went and slept for the rest of the day, because they were so exhausted from their adventure. Also, the teacher knowing it would be much easier to deal with the class when those two weren’t constantly yelling at each other allowed them to stay asleep.
School has become a popular place to practice social pressure around friends or classmates, especially if one classmate is the “popular” one there. The way it goes is that the popular kid always leads the bandwagon when it comes to making decisions, such as where to play or hang out after school. As the years progress, that pupil will start to become more possessive and will start to use the method of being passive agressive as well as pressuring people to follow along to what they want, which can also lead to bullying.
I was with Abby. She had just embarrassed herself in front of the whole class by answering an easy question completely wrong. Some mean kids came up to her and called her stupid and asked her why she was able to make it into kindergarten in the first place. I felt so bad for her because if it were me, I would be very hurt, but she told me that to her it had been just mean people saying mean things that won’t even hurt you if you don’t believe their opinions.
From as young as grade school, kids are worried about being socially accepted. The trend these days is to be the bully or be bullied. This is most common in schools. According to Jay Foster, author of The Social Nature of Bullying, “Both genders may be bullies, but their techniques vary. Girls tend to be more verbally abusive, while boys more often use physical intimidation.” Classmates will often bully one another often because of their height, weight, disability, sexual orientation, or even clothing. If one person sees another person pick on someone, that person may think it is funny and will make themselves look “cool.” They think that by them bullying someone else, they won’t get bullied themselves and that bullying will make them feel much better
