During the 4 weeks of my rotation, I thoroughly interviewed and examined numerous new and follow up patients in the CICU with a myriad of Heart Failure and Arrhythmia presentations. I devised and augmented patient-tailored management plans under direct supervision of the team's attending physicians; this included relative workup, definitive therapy and follow up. I also took part with the residents in their daily activities and helped them with various procedures including insertion of central lines, arterial lines and taking part in CODEs. I also attended NOON Conferences daily and Grand Rounds
Dr. Murray, the chief resident who arrived around 8:00pm, charted Lewis’ heart rate as normal and noteds a probable ileus; however, nursing documentation at the same time recorded a heart rate of 126 beats per minute (Monk, 2002). Subsequent heart rates at midnight and 4:00am arewere charted as 142 and 140 beats per minute respectively without documented intervention (Monk, 2002 ). On Monday morning Lewis noted that his pain suddenly stopped after being very constant and staff charted that they were unable to get a blood pressure recording in either arm or leg from 8:30-10:15am despite trying multiple machines (Monk, 2002; Solidline Media, 2010).
...ts, electrocardiogram, sonogram and cardiac rehabilitation. As a clinical observer, I found an opportunity to create a solid foundation on patient diagnosis and treatment, and not to mention, long hours with charting and recording patients’ information.
Recognition, response and treatment of deteriorating patients are essential elements of improving patient outcomes and reducing unanticipated inpatient hospital deaths (Fuhrmann et al 2009; Mitchell et al 2010) appropriate management of the deteriorating patient is often insufficient when not managed in a timely fashion (Fuhrmann et al 2009; Naeem et al 2005; Goldhill 2001). Detection of these clinical changes, coupled with early accurate intervention may avoid adverse outcomes, including cardiac arrest and deaths (Subbe et al. 2003).

Over the course of this class I feel like I have become a much better writer. When I go back and look at some of my Journal entries and assignments that I did at the beginning of the semester, I can’t help but tense up at some of the things I wrote. Sometimes the things I was writing didn’t flow well, or I might have even have missed glaring grammar mistakes.
Composition 1 taught me crucial writing skills and helped me grow as a writer. At the beginning of the semester, my papers utilized a considerable amount of passive voice, lacked transitional phrases, and the context was not always fully developed. But throughout the class, my writing became more clear, organized, and comprehensive. Passive voice allows the object of an action to be the subject of a sentence. In my first paper, the formal summary essay, I wrote, “The term describes situations, dating back to the 1980s, when excessive numbers of blacks were found to have been exposed to highly polluted areas.” The use of “were found” and “been exposed” distort the meaning of the sentence. Passive voice confuses the reader and makes comprehension

Ever since I started talking this class, English 1301, with Dr. Piercy, I have been able to expand my writing and thinking skills. Not only was I able to make more better essays but I also learned important topics such as how education creates an impact in the world. In this essay I will be talking about three writings and how they are related to this course semester. The three writings are “On Bullshit” by Harry Frankfurt, “Why I Write Bad” by Milo Beckman, and “Statement of Teaching Philosophy” by Stephen Booth. How are these 3 writings related to this semester’s course work?
Writing has always been a difficult subject for me to tackle throughout my education. I enjoy writing academic essays and rhetorically analyzing in research papers but not personal narratives of any sort. In this class, there was a combination of both, which helped me to continue to grow as a writer. During this semester, I have learned several valuable things in this class and gained a lot of knowledge to use in future academic classes. From different styles of writing, how to analyze images, MLA format, rhetorical analysis, and structuring my writing to an online audience. Even though this class initially seemed to be a difficult task, going through the entire semester beginning to end has helped make writing a more achievable challenge.
During the semester of English Composition II, I have learned how to make an argumentative writing and include comparisons within my works to make it more logical. The aspect of understanding more comprehendible forms of writing will help me in y future to better myself and my work. The papers I write, and the forms in which is the most proper and beneficial. Although, I have struggled with my writing, I have learned valuable contexts to incorporate for my future.
This semester, I worked for an attorney office and saw exactly how the House Bill 274 affected the law firm. I worked for a personal injury law firm which was called the Law Office of Branch & Dhillon. I worked for Attorney Dhillon, Attorney Woron and Attorney Barber. My to go person, a really helpful supervisor and paralegal, was a lovely lady named Judy. Judy let me explore all aspects to working at the law firm and even let me have my own office, key to the firm, and my own special “attorney” coffee jug- all which made me feel like I belonged there.
During the weekends when I go home, I am given the pleasure of working in the after-service tutoring programs that happen at my local church. Children of all different ages get help from the Youth Group in a multitude of areas that range from statistics to simple grade-school math or writing. Children are split up based on grade-level (elementary, middle, and high school) and then once again split by the subject they need assistance in. They are then assigned teachers based on which grade levels the volunteers signed up to teach and what subjects they are adept to teach in. Though it is more of a tutoring session than an actual classroom lecture, the basics are the same and it is a great experience for both the students and the tutors. I generally
There are two concepts that I found interesting this week and this past week: the two kinds of sampling methods and their subtypes, and correlational research design method. The first type of sampling method is random sampling. This sampling method is used when a researcher wants his/her sample to be as random as possible in order to represent his/her target population and to draw an accurate conclusion on his/her findings. There are three subtypes of the random sampling method: simple, stratified, and cluster random sampling. The simple random sampling method is when everyone has an equal chance to be selected for a certain experiment; this type is the least bias and gives the most accurate conclusions. The second type is stratified random sampling, which is when the experimenter puts people in certain groups and then selects random people from each group; this is also where the researcher wants to mimic the actual percentages of his/her predetermined strategy. The last type of random sampling is cluster random sampling. This method is used when the researcher wants to select a cert...
Just the words and observations of one man, Charles Darwin, practically changes how science is viewed by people today. It had led to controversial debates to figure out who is right or wrong. Many such as scientists, creationists and the so called Intelligent Designs has and still try to give their proof and reasoning of how this world and lives have their existence.
My parents arrived in the United States hoping for a better future not for themselves, but for the baby they carried in their arms. We would often move from relatives ' houses since my parents couldn’t afford renting an apartment themselves. We were fortunate enough to have caring relatives who didn 't mind us living with them since they knew the hardships we were going through. I grew up in a household where only Spanish was spoken given that both my parents didn’t speak any English at all. When I was in kindergarten, my teacher was afraid that I would be behind the rest of my classmates, given that I only spoke Spanish fluently. I was fortunate to receive free tutoring from my kindergarten teacher. We would often read books together until
