First, I would like to thank you for considering me for this position. I think that I would be a great fit for the CIA, and the federal government. There are many reasons why I am interested in a position with the CIA. The first reason for this is that I have always had an extreme sense of pride for my country, from the minute I began thinking about what I wanted to do with my life as a child the first things that always came to my head were positions with the federal government, in organizations like the CIA, and I see this as a wonderful opportunity to achieve a lifelong goal. The second reason is that because I feel that my skill set, and where my knowledge is fits perfectly into a role inside the CIA. I am an Information Sciences student, but my interests are much more …show more content…
than this. I have always found myself drawn to the topics of History, Political Science, and International Relations as well, and I believe that is reflected in my course history throughout college. I feel that a position inside the CIA would be a great way for me to take advantage of all of my academic interests, in a career that I would enjoy, rather than working a job that I do not find any meaning in, having interest in what I do has always meant more to me than the money I would make. I have found the CIA’s Directorate of Operations component an area of interest for me for many reasons. One reason why I found this to be an interesting area to work in is because of the important clandestine service it provides. I find this to be one of the most important parts of our government. The services and information the DO provides drive the way our government operates, driving and protecting our international relationships, and defending this country from the threats we face from foreign enemies. Another reason I found this to be a great career path to get involved in is that these services I explained that I found important that the DO provides, are all areas of interest for me, and areas that I have studied, and find myself researching on my own. There are many characteristics, and experiences that I believe distinguish me from other candidates for this position.
The first of these characteristics is my hard working mentality, and I am sure that this characteristic is thrown around a lot by candidates but I believe that I truly work harder than most people are willing to. I have had to earn every ounce of everything that I currently have. Whether it was finally getting into Pitt, or playing football at the DII college level the only reason I have ever been able to attain these achievements is that I put in the time, and worked harder than even I thought was possible for myself, I was never the most naturally gifted person in the world, I had to work hard, or I would not be in the position to even apply for a position such as this. Another thing that I feel differentiates myself is that I have experience in many different academic disciplines, I was not that student that simply took my major classes, and easy classes to get through school. I have taken and have a ton of interest in many different topics such as Political Science, and History. I feel that these multifaceted interests, and course history make me a great candidate for the
DO. I am considering a lot of other careers outside of this one. Firstly, I have been applying for as many federal jobs as I can some in Cyber Security, Intelligence, and IT in general whatever I can find that I feel I fit into because first and foremost I have an extreme interested in a federal job, and the responsibilities that come with. Second, I have been applying for regional IT positions in my local area particularly as a Business Analyst, due to the fact that my internship was in that area, and I need to find a position for when I graduate in December. Thank you for taking the time to consider me for the position. I hope that I get a chance to meet with your team face to face and discuss these things further with you. I would love to get the chance to work with the CIA, I believe it would benefit me greatly, and I would be a great fit. I look forward to hearing from you about the position.
Research My first research experience took place from the Fall 2012 – Summer 2013 in a neurobiology laboratory (Dr. Daniel Plas) focused on Parkinson’s Disease. In this project an undergrad student and I were tasked with optimizing a cellular medium for neural growth of the model organism Lymnaea stagnalis. This was comprised of following established protocols and altering certain variables within the formulas (differing concentrations of ions, pH, et al.) to observe growth pattern differences in vitro.
Those important traits are integrity, courage, and bravery. Our veterans showed courageous when they were standing up and putting their lives at risk to protect our America. They showed bravery because they never showed fear when battling in the wars to protect our America. Our veterans were never scared when they were fighting in the wars; they showed no fear because they believed in America, they believed in us. Our veteran showed integrity because they were always honest and told the truth no matter what would happen. For example, “we are taught to take full responsibilities for our action, and if wrong, we would rather suffer the consequences of being wrong than lie and be caught” said the veterans. I’m glad to be part of this country because I can depend on an amazing team of veterans to protect me and help my country to be the best it can possibly
Admittance into the University of Georgia’s Honors Program would push me to continually test my potential in the pursuit of my Pre-Medical studies. I take pride in challenging myself to completely master a field of study that enhance my capabilities, and therefore, prepare myself to strive for my next goal in life. In order to grow into a better and improved self, one would need to test unfamiliar waters and reach new heights. The Honors Program ensures this growth by bringing in unaccustomed, rigorous, and beneficial material one cannot simply find in a traditional setting with their head in a textbook. Students are more able to grasp information through exploration and peer discussion which the Honors Program would provide. I believe that
On the bad side LSD experiments, botched invasions, and overlooked moles. Being in the CIA is very time demanding. They are unable to talk about the job with anyone outside the CIA (“Lives of Spies: CIA Internships and Full-Time Jobs”). On the good side we have America's victory in the Cold War and the detection of Soviet nuclear missiles in Cuba. The CIA stopped communism in Western Europe in the early 1940s and '50s. The CIA gathers Intel so that any harm to our country can be prevented by helping the president, and other policy makers make decisions on u national security. The CIA is a part of the first line of defense to warn and protect the nation. The experience, expertise and personal initiative could lead to a truly worthwhile career at the CIA (“Accomplishments and Excesses of the CIA”).
I wish to take the time to give thanks for this impeccable opportunity in applying for the highly sought after National Honor Society. I have been looking forward to embarking on this journey since I heard about this organization freshman year. I am truly elated to be one of the many students that qualifies, as I know the standards of excellence and character that must be exemplified and met.
I am profoundly honored to be among the exceptional people who are being noticed for the National Honor Society. Being considered to join the National Honor Society is an honor in itself. It proves to me that I have accomplished my goals and worked to the best of my ability. In all my years as a student I have always tried to do the my best to get the highest grades. I do not just focus on my academics, I also strive to be a benefit to Stevenson High School. Achieving my goal in becoming a member of the National Honor Society would give me a great sense of honor and joy both academically and personally. As a human being I have aspiration and academic excellence to offer to the National Honors Society. I would be thrilled to join The
After reviewing Maxwell’s five levels of influence I would classify myself as being in-between the production and people development levels, but I can also see small indications of being in the personhood level.
The Student Government Association is a very important organization that makes a large impact on Willard High School. I would like to be a part of changing and improving how the school operates and is organized. I believe that being a part of SGA will be very beneficial in many aspects, including helping me learn how to be more confident in any future position and become a better leader. Each year, the members of this group have been in charge of bettering everyone’s experience and I qualify in aiding them in the upcoming year.
When deciding on what career best suited me, I found myself considering my role as a global citizen. As an inhabitant of this earth, I felt that it was my duty to advocate for its protection. I therefore decided to study Environmental Engineering. By generating ways for humans to creatively coexist with our environment I will be helping to create a more sustainable world as a whole. Similarly, this idea of making decisions based on the needs of my community has been prevalent throughout my life. I have participated in many volunteer groups including National Honor Society along with lending my knowledge to those who require help through tutoring and in-class aid. I plan on continuing to take an active leadership role in my community through a profession in environmental engineering and strong sense of environmental stewardship.
When Vilayanur Ramachandran, one of the most prominent neuroscientists of our time, was asked how he came to be interested in the brain, he replied “How can anyone NOT be interested in it? Everything you call 'human nature' and consciousness arises from it”. I could not agree more. After all, the complexity and efficacy of the brain is what differentiates homo-sapiens from other species. It is where war and peace originate, love and hatred exist, religions created and destroyed; the source of our sensations, feelings, memory, action, creativity and communication; it is the epitome of humanity and the keeper of the soul. And what can be more challenging than to specialize in the human brain?
Honored, thrilled and uplifting are just understatements to what this means to me. To be chosen to be an applicant for the National Honors Society (NHS). I am sure that I am doing something right, for me to have the chance to be chosen to prove that I am worth being in NHS. This was a great opportunity, for me to better and further what one may think of me.
I am the prime example for a student that strives for excellence in everything that I do. When I first entered High School my ninth grade year I was in honors classes doing very good until I was distracted. I let other students bring me down to their level and I started slacking in my grades and not caring about anything. When school let out that summer my mother sent me to Greensboro, N.C to stay with my god-sister for the summer so I could act right and get my head back in the books. My god sister and I had a talk about my actions and what I needed to do to improve them. I told her that I was going into my sophomore year of school focused and leaving the crowd behind because I eventually got tired of letting my family down. My tenth grade
I am a Criminal Justice student seeking an institution that will help me pursue my aspirations in Law Enforcement as well as offer opportunities for personal growth. I want to submerge myself in the diverse communities that Western has to offer and through the exposure, my speaking skills and understanding of others will grow. Serving is an attribute that really allows me to take pride in myself and the community. Helping my community allows me to see the world through a different lens that doesn’t get portrayed often. I am looking to serve the community of Macomb as I have East Peoria Illinois during my residency.
One thing I find significant is factory farming. I felt that factory farming is wrong and should be stopped immediately. I strongly feel that since we take their lives for our food, we should at least respect them. I’m somewhat both audacious and obstinate, but I like to refer myself as a calm person. I believe initiative and strength is my strongest characters. Since I always try to finish my task that was given and try to think
I believe that I am suitable and competent to be successful in your Master of Public Administration program. I am well aware of the extensive requirements of the program but willing to face the challenge to excel in my field. I thank you, in advance, for your valuable time and consideration for your program.
