Have you ever felt that good love is also bad love? Should popularity choose your decisions? Have you ever felt invisible? Like no one cares? Well in the book Butter by Erin Jade Lange "Butter" is a lonely obese teenager whom ways 423 pounds. Butter is nicknamed after an incident he suffered in which he was bullied and was forced to eat a dirty stick of butter. Butter is so lonely and sick of his life that one night he on the Internet invites everyone to watch him eat himself to death live on New Year's Eve. Once he posts this announcement online on his website ButtersLastMeal.com right then, the next day he is expecting pity and insults; however he instead receives cheering and attention from his classmates. As the inspiration and motivation starts growing as he is the center of attention and he feels more like a part of the school and enjoys it; yet as he experiences this he feels loved like has never felt before. He in fact makes new friends that are fake. Lots of people might say what about his parents love. Well his dad has given up since he was never the person his dad wanted him to be. never let him down. After having a couple of reunions with his new fake friends he begins to question his decision. Knowing that if he back facts his decision everything will return to normal or even worse he decides to keep on going with his plan. Throughout the book there are lots of man vs. man conflicts. One of the main conflicts is with Butter and Jeremy. Jeremy has done many things to butter like when he forces Butter to eat a dirty stick of butter when he is trying to change and loose weight. This night Jeremy did this he brought Butters self-esteem down; so down that he stopped eating healthy. As the novel goes on and Butter has made his website Jeremy tells Butter he won't kill himself this then makes Butter want to prove him wrong. Later on, Jeremy tells butter that the only reason to why he has friends is because they want to know what is going to be in his last meal. Even though, Butter knows this he doesn't care because he knows this is only gonna be one in a lifetime opportunity to have friends for him. As the book advances the theme that is developed is friends aren't always the ones that are there for you once and make you feel happy for once they are the ones that are with you forever.
Friends are the ones who try to help you when your in problems the ones that encourage you to do the right thing. An example of fake friends are Parker and Trent, when they bring Butter to there table so that they are able to know about the menu for the last meal on pg.113-114 " .....Parker said. " That, and we want to know what's on the menu."............."Right. But I don't want to talk about it...y'know, at school." "I got ya." Trent nodded. " Teachers and all
that." "Yeah, all that," I agreed. "But are you gonna do it?"Parker whispered. An example of a real friend is Tuck who is always trying to encourage Butter to loose weight and not to give up before he even try's it this is shown on pg.99 "Butter, I get why you didn't go out for football, but why not band?" "Because it's all classical music and kids who don't know how to play instruments" "How do you know? You never gave it a shot.?" This shows Tuck encouraging him to play what he can do which is play instruments. On pg.100 " If you just stop expecting perfection from everyone and everything, you might see the good stuff outweighs the bad. And then maybe someday you'll look in the mirror and see the same thing. Because the person you're most disappointed in is yourself." "Tuck, I'm just not ready to face all that...Maybe I need this last summer at fit fab to figure myself out. And it would be a lot easier if you were there." A connection I can make is text to world. Based on the bullying there has been towards Butter for being obese. How this has connected me more to the story is because I have seen lots of experiences that others have had towards bullying. It as well made me connect to the character by making me think what I would of done in certain situations. These connections made me feel what the character was feeling. As this novel and experience continues I hope Butter actually chooses his own decision instead of letting his popularity choose it. Butter should as well throughout the story realize that he is not an invisible person and that he matters. I as well hope that his dad changes his attitude towards him and instead helps him and encourages him to lose weight. Butter should also realize how his friend Tuck is worth more than all of his other fake friends. He should as well decide to use his ability with music so that one day he becomes a great musician.

Maxine Kumin?s, Woodchucks provides an interesting and creative perspective into the mind state of those influenced by nazi warfare. The book I read was Pretties by: Scott Westerfeld. This book is the second book in a trilogy. The first book is Uglies. You will understand Pretties better if you read Uglies.
In his wickedly clever debut mystery, Alan Bradley introduces the one and only Flavia de Luce: a refreshingly precocious, sharp, and impertinent 11-year old heroine who goes through a bizarre maze of mystery and deception. Bradley designs Bishop’s Lacey, a 1950s village, Buckshaw, the de Luce’s crumbling Gothic mansion, and reproduces the hedges, gently rolling hills, and battered lanes of the countryside with explicit detail. Suspense mounts up as Flavia digs up long-buried secrets after the corpse of an ominous stranger emerges in the cucumber patch of her country estate. Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie features a plethora of unforeseen twists and turns; it is surely a rich literary delight.

The article '' love: the right chemistry'' by Anastasia Toufexis efforts to explain the concept of love from a scientific aspect in which an amateur will understand. Briefly this essay explains and describe in a scientific way how people's stimulation of the body works when you're falling in love. The new scientific researches have given the answer through human physiology how genes behave when your feelings for example get swept away. The justification for this is explained by how the brain gets flooded by chemicals. The author expresses in one point that love isn't just a nonsense behavior nor a feeling that exhibits similar properties as of a narcotic drug. This is brought about by an organized chemical chain who controls different depending on the individual. A simple action such as a deep look into someone's eyes can start the simulation in the body that an increased production of hand sweat will start. The tingly feeling inside your body is a result of a scientific delineation which makes the concept of love more concretely and more factually mainly for researchers and the wide...

In the novel “Hunger” by Knut Hamsun, the novel’s narrator is unfortunate enough to go through delusions and pains that are caused by what many people cannot experience in the modern days; state of being hungry. As the novel progresses narrator becomes more intoxicated into state of delusion as the hunger deepens. In many scenes of the novel, narrator relates to God many times. Narrator blames, thanks, and even to talk one-sided dialogues with his imaginary God. While many can think that God doesn’t take key parts in novel and let it slip as just another symptom of narrator’s delusion, the scenes with God being a part reveals that God plays both scapegoat and a person of gratitude for narrator’s outcome for every action he takes. From the passages it can be deducted that both narrator and Hamsun have attitude that God is ominous and act as catalyst in everyday life.
What is your definition of a true friend? Well, to me, a true friend is someone who understands you, accepts you for who you are, and is willing to do anything for you. While reading John Steinbeck’s classic, Of Mice and Men, George and Lennie maintain a true friendship despite all the ups and downs they encounter. After Lennie Small, a man as gigantic as a mammoth with a pea-sized brain, is caught touching a girl’s dress in the town of Weed, he and his best friend, an average migrant worker, George Milton, travel a strenuous journey to the town of Soledad and start working on a ranch. The young men come to realize that they have a true, brotherly bond and nothing can separate them.
The first category, the occasional friends, encompasses three friend types. The first one is the grenade. This type of friend is usually annoying and tough to be around but they serve a critical purpose. They make you look better by comparison. Slightly better than the grenade, is the jerk with the heart of gold. Like the grenade they are generally annoying but unlike the grenade they are genuin...
Friendship is the most wonderful relationship that anyone can have. Ideally a friend is a person who offers love and respect and will never leave or betray us. Friends can tell harsh truths when they must be told. There are four different types of friends: True friends, Convenient friends, Special interest friends, and historical friends. To have friendship is to have comfort. In times of crisis and depression, a friend is there to calm us and to help lift up our spirits.
On a conscious level, we rarely spend much time actually thinking about and classifying our friends. However, since I was a small child, my mother taught me to recognize and appreciate various types of friends. I have discovered that there are three different types of friends. I group them according to how well I know them and how well they know me. We encounter each type of friend everyday, whether in school, home, or at the gym. First, there are the "pest friends"- general acquaintances. Next, there are "guest friends"- social partners. Lastly, we have "best friends"- our true friends.
There is no real definition of friendship, because there’s no one way you can define it. Friendships can mean many different things, depending on the person. Friendship to you may be your boyfriend or your mom. To someone else it may be their cousin or someone they met on at school. It can take you a long time to consider someone your friend. Maybe you have to get to know them before you become their friend. Some people have had very bad experiences with friendships and may be scared to become friends with someone to fast. So it may take some time for some people to make friends. Maybe you can become friends with someone a couple of day after ya’ll meet. You may be one of the people who have never had any problems with friends, so you trust people more. Are maybe your someone who’s scared of being alone so you need friends there to help you cope with your fear.
A friend is someone difficult to find. A friend is someone you can always count on when times are tough. The dictionary's definition of a good friend is a person attached to another by feelings of affection or personal regard. A good friend is there when you are struggling. For example, when a boy breaks your heart a good friend walks you through it and offers a shoulder to cry on. According to Bree Neff, a good friend is someone who is trustworthy, doesn't talk behind your back, listens to your problems, gives good advice and tries to lend humor along with his or her support. There are also bad friends, those who pretend to care and then turn around gossiping and starting drama. Good and bad friends are all around you, involved in your everyday life. To find good friends you should look for such traits as being kind, trustworthy, loyal and dependable.
