Please tell us, what sets the University of Miami graduate business program apart for you? How will earning your graduate degree at UM differentiate you from peers in other graduate programs both in your learning experience and your career? (600 word maximum)

Despite coming from an engineering career and having an interesting experience in sales and management, I have decided to pursue a finance career which is my true passion. Not having any formal experience or education in this field results in a challenge when seeking a new career path. This has forced me to look for strong tools in order to approach this new challenge which only a top program in this field could give.

Not only for the similarities to my Venezuelan culture but also for the future job opportunities it offers. The large presence of multinationals, the openness to diversified nationalities and international exposure will give me a handful of possibilities in the job market.

Going towards my late 20s and after five years of experience in a multinational company, I’m looking for an intense and short program in my field of interest that would give me the core foundations in order to return as fast as possible to the professional market to pursue my goals. The 10 month program structure of the Master in Finance fits perfectly into my requirements. I’m one of those who think that the best way to learn is through experience, but you will only be successful if you have the right knowledge as support, something I’m confident the University of Miami will deliver at the highest level.

Being part of a local management team has giving me the opportunity to face challenges in areas such as operations, sales, human resources, corporate finance and organizational leadership in a very fast changing business environment such as the one of Venezuela. These experiences will not only help me in my professional career on the long term but it will be an interesting added value to the program and
