1. What are the relevant facts? Don Bradish was recently hired to fix scheduling issues with the new company in which he works, The Fitzgerald Machine Company. There are a few relevant facts that were given in this case study. The first and foremost fact is Mr. Bradish was hired because the company is having issue with their scheduling. This is important because he comes in with a relevant degree and years of experience with a reputable company. He is going to be looked for to find a solution to the issue outlined in the case study. The second relevant fact in the case study is that the company that The Fitzgerald Machine Company is working with is having labor issues. According to page 64 of the textbook Business Ethics Ethical Decision Making and Cases, “honesty refers to truthfulness or trustworthiness. To be honest is to tell the truth to the best of your knowledge without hiding anything”. As previously mentioned it is the most ethically honest thing for Don to do in this scenario. By him informing Jane as soon as possible she is able to work on fixing the issue. The second alternative of Jane informing the customer of accidently sending the invoice in the mail prior to the items completion is also ethically fine. She may lose the customer by being honest but it is the best decision for the Fitzgerald Machine Company because she doesn’t want to be known in the industry as a bad business partner. By admitting the mistake there is a chance the customer may forgive the issue of mailing the invoice prior to the items completion. The third alternative of not charging a storage fee for the items is also ethical. This is ethical because the items are not completed to even charge a storage fee. It would be unethical for the company to mail the invoice, not complete the items in the next week or more and charge a storage fee. This is a receipt for disaster and would almost guarantee losing the company the Fitzgerald Machine Company is working

At first, Grant had no intention of letting Gomes know of this information because he was sure that she would have developed a bid that would be below the amount that the purchasing agent told him about, $145,000. Therefore, he thoroughly explains to Gomes that if the company does not take advantage of the important information that the purchasing agent had revealed to him, then the $500 of company funds that he had spent would go to waste. Nevertheless, Apex Art would still generate some profit if it wins the bid at $145,000 because it is higher than the full cost of $121,000.
