An event eleven years in the making came to its inevitable conclusion on October 7, 2014, at the Tabernacle in Atlanta, Georgia. Thank You Scientist, the first band to land a contract deal with Evil Ink Records, were premiered as the opening act. Subsequently, Coheed and Cambria performed their landmark album In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3 in its entirety, during an ongoing tour series entitled Neverender. This video is a completely different concept from ‘Bang Bang’ and but conceptually …show more content…
Once the beat drops the choreography begins and Jessie was keeping up with her six background dancers. Then it switches to her on a deck with two muscle men as her bodyguards and I instantly thought Jennifer Lopez, ‘I Luh Ya Papi’. The video continues on with this same switching of scenes whether it’s with the dancers, in front of the water, or on the deck. The choreography for the hook had me wondering about the level of choreography to begin with. In her second verse the choreo gets intense and again Jessie J is keeping up. She might have looked stiff in a few places, but for her not to be a dancer, she was pretty good. Then there is the scene where she’s on a fancy lawn chair laid over water that editing makes look like ice crystals. Well, it looked like something more out of Frozen. 2 Chainz makes his appearance wearing Dwayne Wayne glasses and it switches back from his scenes to Jessie on the deck or her in scene with another muscle man. In the midst of his scene, all of the scenes snapped together. The video ended the same way it began with Jessie in a stance with her hands on her hips. Throughout the entire video I was looking for fire since the track is titled ‘Burnin’ Up’, but there was
A surveillance video show the first terrifying moments of Samantha Koenig's abduction. Israel Keyes is seen as a shadowy figure in ski mask and hood outside Common Grounds, a tiny Anchorage coffee shack then partially concealed from a busy six-lane highway by large snow berms. On Feb. 1, 2012, about 8 p.m., Samantha Koenig is shown handing Keyes a cup of coffee, then backing away with her hands up, as if it's a robbery. The lights go out and Keyes next appears as a fuzzy image climbing through the drive-thru window. Authorities outlined his next steps:
While speaking to the young adults, Linkin Park’s music video utilizes rhetoric by showing credibility, intense emotional symmetry, and logistical facts to influence escaping the oppressive expectations of society.
Higher Learning - Film Analysis Exposition: The Establishing Shot of the film is a full screen American Flag, the camera zooms out and points down, revealing a large crowd of people in a rally, being very patriotic. As the camera zooms off the flag we come across a statue of Columbus- indicating it to be Columbus University. The speaker on the stage gives us another indication of the setting by Shouting'Columbus University'. They are in front of a stage with Band music playing and chants rising out. Whilst this continues in the background three characters are established:
As Allen Funt explains in his interview with Philip Zimbardo, Candid Camera hinges on five central ideas: the first being the reversal of normal or anticipated procedures. For this keystone, Funt provides the amusing example, “You pull your car into a gas station for a routine tank of gas and a five-man pit crew emerges and acts like it’s an Indy 500 pit stop.” The second idea is the exposing of basic human weaknesses in scenarios where “people try to hide the fact that they don’t understand something”—like the never-ending oil dipstick or the vertically challenged elevator. The third idea the show caters to is granting people the opportunity to fulfill a fantasy. Says Funt in relation to this idea, “We show people talking back to a traffic
Literal language and imagery are used by Springfield to show how jealous he is of Jessie. It states, “cause she’s watching him with those eyes/ and she’s loving him with that body” (Springfield 1). Springfield is literally stating what she is doing, and demonstrates how much he contemplates his love. He also says it in a way that we can see what he does not want to think about, which is that she will never be

The music video of “Crooked Smile” by J. Cole illustrates a story that not most people see. The music video reenacts the incident that involved the slain of Aiyana Jones. Although the music video portrays a tragic event, the lyrics of the music video tell a different story. The lyrics tell a message to people, especially females, to love themselves and to not worry what others think of them. In the music video “Crooked Smile,” Cole illustrates the war between the government, drugs, and the innocent victims who are caught in between them. With the song and music video combined, the message to its viewers is to find change and peace not only in the community, but also in our minds.
In the documentary “Fed Up,” sugar is responsible for Americas rising obesity rate, which is happening even with the great stress that is set on exercise and portion control for those who are overweight. Fed Up is a film directed by Stephanie Soechtig, with Executive Producers Katie Couric and Laurie David. The filmmaker’s intent is mainly to inform people of the dangers of too much sugar, but it also talks about the fat’s in our diets and the food corporation shadiness. The filmmaker wants to educate the country on the effects of a poor diet and to open eyes to the obesity catastrophe in the United States. The main debate used is that sugar is the direct matter of obesity. Overall, I don’t believe the filmmaker’s debate was successful.
United States. This is a documentary about several children who live in poverty and dream of going to America in order to be reunited with their biological parents, or simply to seek out a better life for themselves. The way that the children are getting to America is by riding a train known as “La Bestia” (The Beast) throughout Mexico and ultimately arriving at the border with the United States. The children risk losing their lives every day, either by falling off the train as they sleep or getting kidnapped or raped by predators who are also trying to get to America. As you watch the film you are able to see every stop that is made through Mexico until finally
It expresses what Michael Jackson had envisioned for his future as a black person. He wanted to see technological advancements and a future where black people don’t have to answer to the pressures around them. The electronic beats and noises create a futuristic sound that combines with the breaking glass and the alarm signifying that they will not tolerate what is going on around them anymore. With them screaming throughout the video, it shows how vulnerable they are but at the same time how brave they are for fighting and showing how fed up they are with
"Fed Up (Soechtig, 2014)." narrated by Katie Couric, focuses on the growing link between sugar consumption and the obesity epidemic. The film aggressively attacks the food industry, advertising, and the government who, it claims, all contribute to the U.S. sugar-dependent, obesity problem. The film sets out to prove the government, and food industry is knowingly causing an increase in the amount of obese children. It reserves its most critical comments for government advisory panels who make and enforce food and health policy, and its failure to properly regulate the food industry. They claim lobbyists for the sugar board have been instrumental in the removal of negative statistics from research papers worldwide. Instead
“Call and response” is also utilized, which is when the DJ and the dancers will communicate in order to maintain a certain hip hop flow, and to encourage audience enthusiasm. The moves, along with the music works together to emphasize the rapid rhythm breaks. The dancers perform moves that involve flips, upside down movement, and spinning, along with “drops” that were smooth transitions to “front swipes, back swipes, dips, and corkscrews”.” One dancer even performs a “chair freeze” which was originally one of the most popular break dancing moves, and is when the arms and upper body support the body while the legs and lower half of the body are free flowing (Forman & Neal, 2012, pg. 58). These moves require much momentum and balance, which according to popular b-boy Ken Swift, is an essential aspect to this hip hop movement (Forman & Neal, 2012, pg. 59). In both films, b-boying or breakdancing is a way to resolve some type of conflict or competition due to being able to “attack without mercy yet still see their opponents as distinct and valuable human beings” and avoid any unnecessary violence that already occurs in drastic rates within inner city neighborhoods (Chang, 2006, pg.

Plants in the Early Succession Stage 1. Plants usually have lower biomass and thus have smaller physical structures (lichens, moss, algae) 2. Plants absorb nutrients and water through their cell walls. 3. Plants contain seeds that can be dormant for a long time and can withstand environmental fluctuations.
