Introduction
Bunyaville state forest, is a national park located in between the suburbs of Albany creek and Everton hills. Bunyaville has been educating the young minds of many school aged students for many years. Alongside the the education programs at bunyaville, there is a vast range of biodiversity, present at the site. From fish, birds and plants, there is without a doubt that bunyaville though having experienced a loss of biodiversity over the years, still has a lot of diversity within its species. The purpose of this report is to find and evaluate the biodiversity in the park and the conservation methods being used to maintain it.
The biodiversity at bunyaville as being stated earlier is quite large, with over 115 species of birds spotted at the park. With the data collected in the field study, though not being 100% reliable, showed a range of different species of trees such as the grey gum, bacon and egg and the spotted gum, along with birds such as the pee wee, red backed Wren and pacific black duck. As well as many of fish and a couple of toads. With the currents conservation methods in place. The biodiversity of bunyaville is sure to stay in tact for many years.

From visible examples of lantana, lily pads, moss, grey gums, string bark gum trees, spotted gum and iron bark. There was already a visible understanding that bunyaville has and immense range of plant species. Along with the animals mentioned that were seen, there was an extensive amount of bugs and insects in the park range. From one test being the forest floor scavenge; five different bugs were found, numerous times. Though these bugs are common household bugs, they were in large numbers. As mentioned before, the data taken for the species in bunyaville, is slightly restricted, as there wasn't enough time to search for every species of bug found in the
The ecozone's forests are composed of 12.8% mixedwood, 2.1% deciduous, and 0.2% coniferous trees. The forest cover spans from 3 to 16%, and 40% of Ontario's rare plants are exclusive to the Carolinian forests. The Wood Poppy, Small-whorled Pogonia, Prickly Pear Cactus, and Cucumber Tree are species listed as Endangered. Wild Raspberry, Black-eyed Susans, Clover, Goldenrod, and Trilliums are widespread in forest ecosystems. Thickets and abandoned fields are h...
In The House on Mango Street, Cisneroz agitates the theme of diversity through her use of characters and setting. Cisneroz paints a multitude of events that follow a young girl named Esperanza growing up in the diverse section of Chicago. She is dealing with searching for a release from the low expectations that the Latino communities often put women whether young or old are put against. Cisneroz often draws from her life growing up that she was able to base Esperanza's life experiences on and portray an accurate view on Latino societies today. Cisneroz used the chapter “Boys and Girls” and “Beautiful and cruel” to portray Esperanzas growth from a young curious girl to a wise woman. She came into her own personal awareness and her actions that she has to now be held accountable for.
This dense and luxuriant rainforest has the greatest diversity than any other in Australia and many in the world. The Daintree is also the home of rare and threatened extinct plant and animal species. The importance of this ecosystem is the very high. This ecosystem contributes to the overall health of this plant in many ways. Diversity contributes to the breakdown of pollution and helps to control the climate to name a few.
Snuggled within the natural bush setting of Cleland Conservation Park, and adjacent to Mount Lofty Summit, the park provides 35 hectares of open bushland habitat where visitors can interact with Australian wildlife. The Cleland Wildlife Park has been a major...
The area has been turned into a wildlife preserve to help maintain those ecosystems. The
Long Island also known as a diverse community to many people helps many of us come more aware of other cultures and religions. Having a combination of different religions and life living together makes us more known to the world. We as an island surrounded of millions of people don’t appreciate the unique and wonderful things that are being given to us. Others like tourists or people from all around the world might not feel the same way though. In many nations around the world people don’t get to experience the social interactions and bandings one might get to feel and understand.
Landscape fragmentation contributes to loss of migratory corridors, loss of connectivity and natural communities, which all lead to a loss of biodiversity for a region. Conservation of biodiversity must include all levels of diversity: genetic, species, community, and landscape (CNHP 1995). Each complex level is dependent upon and linked to the other levels. In addition, humans are linked to all levels of this hierarchy. A healthy natural and human environment go hand in hand (CNHP 1995). An important step in conservation planning, in order to guarantee both a healthy natural environment as well as a healthy human environment, is recognizing the most endangered elements.
This field report is intended to accurately record the student’s observations of the flora and fauna of John Dickinson State Park on the date of September 26th, 2015 in the
America is often called a melting pot; the metaphor is used because our society is made of different types of people that are blended together in our community. Educators need to familiarize themselves with the perspectives of numerous cultural groups. In early childhood, teachers have practice the anti-bias education concept. Anti-bias education includes learning experiences and teaching strategies that are specifically designed not only to prepare all children for life in a culturally rich society, but also to counter the stereotyping of diverse groups, and to guard against expressions of bias (Derman-Sparks & Edward, 2010). After observing a classroom, the first multicultural items I noticed was the circle time rug. It had a world in the middle with children from all over the world holding
Wildlife as I was told, is relatively small in the thick of the trees. Multiple species of birds, several species of lizards and coquie live in these forests. The wildlife was so different compared to New York and it was so exciting to see what outdoor life was like in Puerto Rico.
America’s workforce is continuously changing. Businesses today hire and retain culturally diverse employees to compete in the globalize market. Companies are developing ways to tap into and capitalize upon the talents of their workforces. They are discovering how to value the diversity of their workforces and the potential that diversity brings in flexibility, ingenuity and problem solving are helping them achieve their goals.
Forensic entomology can be broken down into three areas: medico-legal, urban, and stored product pests. Urban entomology involves insects that affect houses, buildings, and other human based environments. Stored pest entomology involves insects infesting stored goods such as food and clothing. In this paper, medico-legal entomology will be the focus as it is the type of entomology that entomologists use to utilize insects to solve criminal cases, (Houck and Siegel. Entomology).
Biodiversity is so important that if any chain or link is disturbed then the whole system will come to a halt. Biodiversity also boosts ecosystem productivity and if it declines automatically our ecosystem also declines as both are interdependent upon each other, where all the species play an essential role in the way ecosystem functions, so local and global species loss could threaten the stability of the ecosystem services on which humans depend. This is an interesting topic as well as a global issue concerning the whole human civilization and their existence. . The said issue as well as many other issues regarding our natural processes cannot be neglected as our present and future depends entirely on the sustainability and growth of this ecosystem and biodiversity. Our ecosystem completely depends on the way biodiversity functions. This is the reason I have chosen this topic and gathered information about how it e...
NEED AND PURPOSE FOR CONSERVATION OF BIODIVERSITY Biodiversity conservation is about saving life on Earth in all its forms and keeping natural ecosystems functioning and healthy. Biodiversity is being depleted by the loss of habitat, fragmentation of habitat, over exploitation of resources, human sponsored ecosystems, climatic changes, pollution, invasive exotic species, diseases, shifting cultivation, poaching of wildlife etc. Since the human beings are enjoying all the benefits from biodiversity, they should take proper care for the preservation of biodiversity in all its forms and should prevent the degradation as well as the destruction of the habitats, thereby maintaining the biodiversity at its optimum level which will ultimately conserve the biodiversity for the future generation. The United Nations designated 2011-2020 as the United Nations Decade on Biodiversity. In biodiversity, each species, no matter how big or small, has an important role to play in ecosystems.
Loss of biodiversity is an environmental issue that is causing a lot of global concern. Some of the main causes for loss in biodiversity are alteration of habitats, increasing levels of pollution and human population growth. There are measures that are being taken worldwide to prevent loss of biodiversity. Many wildlife sanctuaries have been built worldwide to preserve the lives of various endangered species. However, it is important to remember that every individual has a role in the protection of wildlife and biodiversity. Every human being should play his part of the role by following simple rules such as stopping others from the hunting of endangered species, preventing deforestation, encouraging reforestation and creating awareness among fellow human beings.
