Many people don’t realize the profound effect that being bullied has on a person. Victims of bullying live their lives differently than other people, because they are often not living their lives with wholeness. Wholeness is “the balancing of all the parts of the self to create a dynamic and harmonious order” (Unit 6 Reader). Bullying affects one’s ability to be whole by giving the victim a sense of self hate, impairing their relationships with others, and influencing the way that they make decisions. The bully’s ability to be whole is also affected due to the actions that they are taking to purposefully hurt others. Bullying gives the victim a sense of loathing and self hate, which affects his or her ability to be whole. Bullies often target people for things that they can’t control, such as their race, color, or gender. …show more content…

Bullies are often dealing with their own issues, or had been bullied in their lives. Sometimes the bullies were bullied themselves, which leads them to develop negative feelings, and self esteem issues. They try to cope with these feelings by bullying others (Teen Health and Wellness). Because the person was a victim of bullying, it affected his or her wholeness, which in turn led them to become bullies and do the same to other people. In some cases, the bully is just as likely as the victim to commit suicide, or think about committing suicide (Ashley Strickland). The wholeness of a bully is always negatively affected, because they are not following their conscience. Bullying is an immoral action, and no one should have to go through something as horrible as it. Bullies are purposefully wreaking havoc, and affecting someone’s life in negative way. The actions that they are taking by choice in no way show wholeness. They are depriving their victims of any chances at living their lives harmoniously, which in turn leads to the bully not being able to live a whole
