Which major/s from this lecture are you most interested in?
I really enjoyed the accounting specialization because I feel that I’m very comfortable with numbers and I like solving analytical problems. I also like the social aspect that would come with accounting, like communicating with your colleagues at work about what you discovered or useful information. I think working with financial records of a firm or business would be interesting because you never know what to expect to happen and you have to be quick to adapt to certain situations.
How is this major (or majors) a good fit for your strengths/interests? The major is somewhat good with my strengths and interests. I love numbers and have a strong foundations with the mathematics useful for the business field. I have taken and done very well in micro/macro economics which lays the foundation that the business major is all about. By taking these classes, I have a good idea what the field entails and I also like the creative part that the business major has, because there’s often more than 1 answer to a problem. At the same time I’m unsure that my weaknesses are would fit in with the business major. I enjoy communicating, but my public speaking skills aren’t great. For example, when speaking to a large crowd I tend to get nervous and sometimes struggle to get my point across.

I didn’t really think that business would be a good major for me, but after checking out the video on the overview of the fischer school of business, I got curious. I wanted to get insight from the students from the fisher school of business to see what they had to say. I’m happy that I attended this lecture and know more about the business major in
I had a Political science professor that once said “Political survey answers depend more on how a question is asked than on what the question is asking.” I read and reread the above question. I have to admit that even after 15 weeks of topic discussions, PowerPoint, text chapters and Google; I am still confused about how tax expenditure works. The nearest I can figure out and in plain English, it is simply a tax break. That being said, this question is very methodically asked. The term “anti-poverty programs” is a gentle, non threatening term that will be met with compassion and kindness among more than 85% of (surveyed) US citizens. Second “tax expenditures” is a confusing term associated with the mean IRS that must have something to do with the government taking hard earned money and doing something with it, but what? Who knows? The final term is the big, bad anti-conservative term that only about 11% of surveyed Americans actually greet with any positivity. So the question in our subconscious mind flows something like: “What are the advantages and disadvantages of helping people who need it with your tax money instead of giving it to people who don’t want to work?” But that’s not what the question is asking. Because I know that my subconscious takes into consideration, the information it believes is true. First anti-poverty programs, such as Medicaid, are in most people’s minds still welfare. Before the New Deal many of the anti-poverty programs, as well as welfare (utility assistance, help purchasing groceries, etc.) were funded completely through private charities....
...after discovering what I do not want to major in. I had the opportunity a couple of summers ago to shadow in a Pediatric Clinic because that was originally what I thought I wanted to be, but I was actually more interested in the business associated with running the clinic. I also have a family friend who is in the business field, and he talked to me about his job and the opportunities he has been given because of the major he choose. Listening to him, I started to see myself in the business world, traveling the world and meeting new people everywhere I go. I am attracted to the business world as a whole not only because I find it interesting, but also because I can see myself waking up every day and doing something I love. Additionally, I feel that this career path will allow me to accomplish a multitude of goals, including helping people all around the world. (257)
There were a number of enterprising careers, but the one that interested me the most was business management. I decided to choose the business management because I am majoring in Sustainability and my focus is in Economics. I think business management would be an excellent fit for myself because I have actually done some research prior to this class about management. I would like to someday own an ice rink, and I think that becoming a manager would be a great stepping-stone towards reaching my goal. The requirements for becoming a business manager vary from university to university, but the overall direction of the major revolves around taking 60 credit hours of business courses such as economics, finance, and marketing.
My intended major is Business. Business content is generally a comprehensive accounting, economics, finance, marketing science and organizational behavior concepts. The concept in society is prior to the operation of business and personal financial management on the benefits and influence. Because the relationship between industrialization and information technology services was booming, commercial terms a large number of derivatives, so business is considered in making the business a way to enter the job market prior to the social utility, Therefore, I also chooses Business as my university departments. Because of world trade and development, globalization has made countries increasingly dependent; therefore, business is importance and usefulness of access to the education. As the Busines...
By recognizing the differences between the two majors, it will help one know which the right degree to get is. Although, both majors can get someone to be very successful, an Accounting degree is better because it’s less schooling and one can get a job faster. If someone is deciding between an accounting major and a law major, they should choose accounting because, it’s faster to get done with school, faster to get a job, and you get to work
While this statement does hold some truth, it is not entirely accurate. It is true that much of Alexander the Great’s story was written long after his death, but that does not means “historians really do not know much about” him. It is often difficult to piece together the puzzle that makes up the life and times of Alexander, but to a large extent it can be done. Historians are able to piece together source material, histories, and archeological data to paint a portrait of the warrior king. This does not mean that the task is easy, or that all scholars agree, but it certainly presents a wealth of information to be considered.
Freshmen year of college had finally arrived, and I was ready to experience life through the lens of an adult. Just turning eighteen, I had it all figured out, my school of choice, my major, and my career. My plan was to graduate with a major in business administration and a double minor in psychology and political science, with hopes of becoming an attorney. It never ceases to amaze me how each semester of college has taught me to expand my realm of knowledge and to become more open to new experiences. After my very first semester, I decided to double major in business administration and psychology. As time went on, my sophomore year allowed me to delve into many major courses, which probed a thirst for knowledge that needed to be quenched. At this point, I wanted to receive a more thorough understanding of both academic disciplines, but it was not until my junior year that I realized my true purpose.
Digital forensics is the function of unveiling and interpreting electronic data for use in a court of law. The objective of the process is to preserve any evidence in its most authentic form while performing a structured investigation by collecting, identifying and validating the digital information for the purpose of reconstructing past events (Janssen, 2010-2014).
Ever since I was young I have always been interested in businesses and how they operate, as well as being fascinated by other languages and cultural differences. My passion for the subject expanded when I chose business studies and french, as part of my A-level education. Although these subjects are somewhat demanding, I find them extremely interesting. I believe that a degree combining both these aspects is the correct choice for me. I am confident that a course in international business studies and modern languages satisfies both these interests. I will be looking forward to learning about the international business world and I am relishing the thought of learning to integrate with other European countries. The idea of learning to communicate with other people across the world is something that has always appealed greatly to me.

Although, studying business in college is something else I would love to do. Business is a great field to major in, because so many job fields mostly have something to do with business. I have been inspired to do something with business because I have so much family in Mexico that deal with business everyday. I have an aunt and uncle who build very big houses in a place called Guadalajara. I see how they live, and it makes me want to do the same. That is why I want to pursue in business, because my family have inspired me to do something with my life. I have worked for small and large business firms; also in private and public sectors which helped me develop a strong linking with the industry as a whole and solidified my interest in accounting.
My interest in Accounting and Finance stems from wanting to understand how governments and businesses make their vital decisions to be profitable. Studying this degree, will allow me to gain an understanding of financial accounting, management accounting and taxation providing me with skills to analyse data and develop my decision making. Additionally being able to incorporate different aspects of business alongside the core modules; will give me more knowledge of the world of accounting and finance.
