What if's can lead to over a thousand possibilities. What if's can lead to the modification of certain events and sometimes even a different timelines. Such as, what if Bruce Wayne A.K.A Batman never got the chance to become Batman, because his parents survived their gun shot by never even venturing in to Gotham's famous "Crime Alley". So many possibilities can stem from a small what if, like for example; would Thomas and Martha Wayne have sent their son away from Gotham when he realized that it was a dangerous place for their son? But first lets take a look on how Bruce Wayne or Batman was before we add the "what if".
The creation of Batman doesn't start off right away with an orphaned eight year old, known as Bruce Wayne putting the

(Source #4) Now lets bring in the what if. In an alternate universe Bruce Wayne and his parents survived the robber because they never ventured in to Gotham's Crime Alley. Sooner or later Thomas and Martha would have realized that their beloved city, Gotham was no longer safe for their son Bruce and they might have sent him away to continue his studies else where. With Bruce's parents still alive, Bruce most likely would have followed in his father's foot steps or excelled over them. (Source #2) Bruce would have married, had children and probably become one of Gotham's elite. Bruce's life would have turned out extremely different if his parents …show more content…
Harvey Dent also known as Two-Face would have still been a lawyer and maybe even elected for Gotham City Mayor. (Source #1) Edward Enigma also known as the Riddler may have been a low crime criminal or he may even have written a book of riddles. (Source #1) The Penguin would possibly still be around as a high end criminal. The Joker wouldn't have existed because there is no Batman to play with. (Source # 1) Harley Quinn would have never fell in love with the Joker and she would still be a psychiatrist. Ra's Al Ghul wouldn't have Batman in the way so if he wanted he could destroy Gotham. Jonathan Crane also known as Scarecrow would probably still be teaching a Gotham University. If Batman never existed, some of his villain's may have never became
It has been eight years since the ending of the previous movie, The Dark Knight. At the end of this movie, Batman took the blame for the people killed by Harvey Dent, the district attorney who set out a war against crime. During The Dark Knight, crime had decreased dramatically because of him and Batman. Numerous criminals were placed in prison because of him. Therefore, Batman took the blame for his murders because he understood that a discovery of Harvey Dent’s killings would allow the numerous criminals that he imprisoned to be set free.
Throughout The Epic of Gilgamesh and Batman Returns the main characters incentives came from the loss of close loved ones. For Gilgamesh his friendship started when the gods created an equal to him called Enkidu. Aruru, the goddess of creation, put Enkidu on earth to teach Gilgamesh on how to be humble. Together they were seen as soul mates. Side by side with Enkidu, Gilgamesh destroys Humbaba, the monster of the Cedar Forest, and the bull sent from the gods to kill him. After overcoming these two heroic battles Enkidu gets terribly ill and dies. The author of The Epic of Gilgamesh says, “[Gilgamesh] seven days and nights I sat besides the body, weeping for Enkidu beside the body, and then I saw a worm fall out of his nose. Must I die too? Must Gilgamesh be like that? It was then I felt the fear of it in my belly. I roam the wilderness because of the fear. Enkidu, the companion whom I loved, is dirt, nothing but clay is Enkidu.” Gilgamesh, now fearing morality, does everything in his power to try to find immortality. Unlike Gilgamesh, Batman had other things to seek besides immortality. As a young boy Bruce Wayne, the person behind Batman’s identity, was walking home with his parents and got mugged; both of his parents died right before his eyes. In this very moment, his life took a drastic turn. His life purpose was to kill the man who caused him that
But I do know one thing, Batman was there for us when we needed him the most. He separated us from our darkest nightmares every night. He guarded our houses and protected our families, our friends, and our children. Batman stood up for what he believed, he always had us, the people of Gotham in his best interest. What more could we have asked Batman to do? I could stand up here and say "I never knew the man," but that might not be the truth. During my life, I have known many men, many men who are full of strength, courage, and virtue. Any of these men could have been the Batman and I would have never been aware. However good men still walk among us today, even without Batman. These good men and women are my hope, my consolation for
In origin, a hero is an archetype character that refers to protectors, warriors, or god-like man who protects humanity. For instance, Hercules was a hero in Greek mythology. In modern culture, heroism is recognized as an extremely popular trait that a character can possess. In this case, Bat Man, also referred to as The Dark Knight, is indisputably idealized as a hero. Unlike most superheros in comicbooks culture, Bat Man is a simple human being with absolutely no superpowers. Regardless of that, he as a simple human being still exhibits the courage, intelligence, talent and the necessary skills in fighting crime and defeating potentially hazardous villains seeking to either rule the world or cause destruction. In detail, Bat Man’s real name is Bruce Wayne. Bruce was 10 years old when his parents were murdered which fundamentally change his perception about the world. After his parents’ death, Bruce inherited a multibillion dollar company that his father created before his birth, which explains why he has the most advanced technology to help him fight crime. While growing up, Bruce trained himself to fight and had been working out. One night, he came to the conclusion that Gotham city is falling into the hands of criminals. For that reason, he convinced himself that it should be his obligation to prevent it, although he needed a hero identity to hide his real identity
The purpose of this paper is to provide the reader with an insight into the Super Hero Series Batman. This crime fighter originally appeared in Detective Comics issue #27 in 1939. It later became a comic book series, a TV series and a movie series. The character Batman is second only to Superman as a Super Hero. Amazingly Batman has no super powers, but he does have a lot of neat crime fighting gadgets. In this paper, we will explore the creation of Batman, his supporting cast of characters both good and bad and the gadgets he used.
He is told that Bane will allow him to heal and live in the pit, which is essentially a prison, as Bane destroys Gotham, so Bruce can see the extent of his defeat over television. This is Bruce’s lowest point in the story, but he is given a beacon of hope by some of the other inmates in the pit. He learns of a boy that once made the climb out of the pit by making a jump that to every other man has been impossible. This jump gives Bruce a purpose. He recovers from his injury and trains his body to make the jump. News reports of the situation in Gotham motivate Bruce to try to return to Gotham before Bane destroys his city. The jump provides an opportunity to make the metaphorical rebirth my tarot reading had alluded to. According to The Wild Wood Tarot, the Eight of Vessels represents an opportunity for “looking at the past, acknowledging [a hero’s] mistakes and learning from them, [to] grow and attain new wisdom”(137). This is exactly what Bruce does. During the time in the pit he stops doubting himself and improves his physique, so he is both mentally and physically prepared for the jump. When he is ready he makes he leap out of the pit and returns to Gotham to attempt to save his city from the nuclear explosive Bane is threatening to
Batkid Begins, is a feel good movie documentary, featuring a young boy (Miles) who has leukemia. Ever since he was a kid, Miles enjoyed watching superhero cartoons, particularly batman. At the conclusion of the film Ra's al Ghul is defeated by Batman. Gotham City, even if it is half in ruin and thousands of people need an antidote to the drugs in their system, is at peace from what is an impending doom. In terms of affordability, Batman destroyed a lot of info structure. With adaptability, Batman broke nearly all traffic laws and can now be considered a terrorist for taking blame with all of the city's problems which he is okay with because it protects his personal identity. The public view of Batman has changed, and because Lieutenant Gordon works with Batman to restore Gotham. Both of their images are forever tarnished but it does not matter to the men because saving Gotham is the first priority and public relations is second.
Both Batman and the Joker exist outside the law that predominates among the police, the law-abiding citizens, and the criminal underworld in Gotham. Both have the status of an exception because they adhere to a code that goes against their personal incentives and violates any consequentialist morality. Batman tries...
The plot of Batman Begins mainly focuses on the origins and psychology behind Batman, and how he copes with the struggles he faces. One major thing that changed the course of the story, was the death of the Thomas and Martha Wayne. It formed an emotion change in the story that effects Bruce Wayne and all of Gotham to arise the struggles and problems that will be faced in the rest of the movie. Another key point in the story was the seven-year disappearance of Bruce Wayne. When in the Chinese prison it would also discipline him, which was something that he hadn’t had much of before. The meeting of Ras Al Ghul and his further training were also key experiences to develop Bruce Wayne into Batman. These were the some of the building blocks in the plot. The plot of The Dark Knight was very different to Batman Begins. The main plot is that Batman has limits and Gotham needed a different hero, whereas, in Batman Begins, Batman was the hero and didn’t think he had any limits. The foundation of the Dark Knight was more of what had happened in the few absent years between the two movies, and not what would happen. The

Bats evolve past his childhood scare; he overcomes that, and material bats were not the things that terrified him. They began to symbolize the fear of fear, the unbearable pain and weight his parents’ death had on him. Ever since he began wearing a cape and fighting crime in Gotham, Bruce Wayne began developing this dependency. In The Dark Knight Rises, Wayne has lost his sense of self because Batman is not needed and Wayne does not know how to move on. One of the major themes of the entire film is Wayne’s rediscovery of his will to live. In truth, it is not just about a will to live, but a desire to have a life beyond Batman and beyond the pain Wayne has used his alter ego to fight. It takes several months, but Wayne is ultimately successful in returning as Batman to eliminate one last threat to Gotham and then retire.
