Bruce Lee Research Essay
Introduction
Bruce Lee once said, “Always be yourself, express yourself, have faith in yourself, do not go out and look for a successful personality and duplicate it” (Brainyquote.com). Bruce Lee was very famous because of his martial arts and career in the filming industry. Throughout his life he became very successful becoming an actor, director, screenwriter and a martial artist. He is considered for being the biggest movie star in history. He is also well known for changing the way in which martial arts were viewed around the world. Bruce Lee started out small but soon influenced America by his showing of determination for achieving his goals.
Early Life
From the beginning, Bruce Lee had a very busy childhood. Bruce Lee was born on November 27, 1940, in San Francisco, California (“Bruce Lee”). His name, Bruce was given to him by nurse at the hospital (“Bruce Lee Biography”). He was the fourth child of Lee Hoi Chuen and Grace Ho. Bruce had four other siblings, Phoebe, Agnes, Peter, and Robert. His father, Lee Hoi Chuen was a Chinese actor as well as an opera singer. His mother, Grace Ho was actually from Chinese and German decent. This makes Bruce not being 100% Chinese because his grandfather on his mother’s side of the family was actually German (Rousseau). Due to his father’s job being actor and opera singer, this dragged Bruce being in films since he was at a young age.
Middle Years
Next, during Bruce’s teenage to young adult years in his life, he experienced many things. In his early days of school, he would become involved in fights with British school boys taunting him. Around the age of 13, he met master Wing Chun martial artist, Yip Man....

... being part of the film industry and a famous martial artist. He created his own book titled, Dao of Jeet Kune Do. Overall, Bruce Lee has created a new perspective on life passing down his legacy to everyone. His resolution gives inspiration to people to seek out and chase their dreams without any falter.

Bruce Jenner was born on October 28, 1949 to William and Estelle Jenner in Mount Kisco, New York where he then grew up. He was the second of four children; Pam, Lisa, and Burt.

The Duke takes his place in history. John Wayne, one of America’s greatest actors and directors of all time. His fame and superstardom led to many problems in his career. His image as an icon of American individualism and the frontier spirit has overshadowed his career to such an extent that it is almost impossible for the fans and writers to separate Wayne the legend from Wayne the actor and Wayne the man.
Stan Lee changed the world in many great ways. He was an iconic comic book writer that went on to change the characters in comic books, he made comics evolve from simple to intricate, and he made comic book personalities come to life when put on the television screen. Stan Lee had no doubts that comic books would still be popular even when other things are in the way. A few statistics that prove how Stan lee changed the world are first Marvel Comics took away the top spot from DC comics on the percentage of comics sold with Marvel at 39.06 percent sold and DC at 26.38 percent. Also another one is the first Marvel Comics number one was sold at 350,000 dollars (“Marvel Movies”). Stan Lee revolutionized comic books in many different ways. He will always be remembered by what he did in the entertainment world.
Lee has had many ups and downs during military career. Because of this, people look to Robert E. Lee as a very good man. He showed loyalty, dedication, and relentless pursue for victory. He truly is a person that you can model your life after and learn some valuable life lessons from him. His courageous and brave lifestyle should be recognized as a prominent figure in United States history. Lee taught people what it meant to be a true American dedicated to make this nation be as good as it can be. He also faced many tough decisions in war whether it was to attack, retreat, or to surrender. Although people make tough decision every day of their life, they don’t compare to the decisions that Lee had to make. Lee’s decisions lead to the death of soldiers in a winning or losing effort. Also his decisions made an impact on the United States.

He changed the way people looked at comics and how they were created. He built his personality into the comics he created so that he knows that whoever was reading them would get enjoyment from them. Although he faced a lot of hardships and criticisms in his life Stan Lee deserves to be in the top 100 influential people because he used his vision to see others and himself improve in their knowledge throughout life, while revolutionizing the comic industry giving the world an abundance of content to enjoy and giving back to the people in every way possible. Throughout Stan Lee’s life he inspires others to work harder and get through their problems because in the end it will always be worth the hardships you had to deal with.
He was talking about dominantly expressing ones self through martial arts by letting go of rigid styles or patterns you’ve learned, and freely adapt in combat so as to fluidly move with your opponent, as in a dance, then to “crash” into your opponent in victory. What Bruce Lee described was a state of total awareness of one’s environment so as to continuously be able to entrain one’s self to it.
